PK Perpetual Grow Journal 2020

i agree with stltoed. No point of starting another seed if this isn't working.
I've also put two of my remaining mystery girls in soil. So, if this doesn't work i've got my backup plan :laughtwo:

Hey PK. I'm sure you can find info on your water including PPMs online, or call them. If they say 120, your meters are out of calibration. There is no way your water got better as it went to your house.

so, crazy part is that once the 5 gallon pails was filled the ph in there was 5.8 on one res and 6 on the other.
i know my ph of tap water is 7 to 7.4
My aquarium maser kit shows the ph at 7 cuz it does not have decimals but the ph reader reads it 7.04

few years ago our building had their entire plumbing redone. Also, vancouver has one of the best water outlines.

When I ran my 200 gallon 12 plant DWC if I took my blue lab pen after calibrating it in solution it would read a different Ph in every bucket every time I tested them so I said I am only going with the Ph in my rez and that was the right Ph. The further the plants were away from the rez the further the Ph drifted.

PK, your water is roughly the same as mine. I think mine is around 70ppm and 7.14 on average, it changes a small bit throughout the year.

When you add a small amount of nutes as you are now, ph'ing can be tricky. I adjust it by the drop of PH up/down. Let it sit for a few min, then check again, add another drop if needed, repeat as needed.

Avoid as hard as you can yo yo-ing the PH with up/down...

Your having trouble in part because of the low PPM. As the plant matures and takes more nutrients, it'll be easier, the nutes contain stabilizers...itll take slightly higher amounts of PH up/down to make the adjustments, but it will be more stable.

I missed that conversation....i think it's dependant on the model?. I see them for sale all the time....even a quick Google "bluelab replacement probe" shows tons for about 100 bucks. Gonna read some more up on this...ive been saving for a blue lab lol
Yes you can replace the ph probe ( easily broken) no you cannot replace the tds probe (on a blue lab. )
..keep the sensor clean is about all it needs . It prompts you to calibrate the ph prob monthly .

in terms of your ph fluctuations @PK it should fluctuate throughout the day ... i almost NEVER use ph up and down ...if she is too low I’ll add a nute or plain un ph’d water that will raise it , if she is too high same thing .
Nitrogen food lowers ph , silica raises it, etc, etc. if Her fluctuations become to irrational or out of my comfort zone ( 5.6- 6.5 ( hydro ) I will just do a bucket change and start over .

you have the bible right ? Good luck !

@Stltoed how often do you adjust ph?
i notice i bring mine to 5.8ish and in few hours its at 7.4
i've been phing every two hours or so. is that common?

how many air stones do you have in your water ..and is it possible you have a light leak .,,

i have these air stone in each res.

i'm not sure if there is any light that's leaking through. what is the best method to check this?

I use one of those on the bottom and a small fish tank one dangling , 2 per bucket . But there is a thing as too much oxygen .
I wish I could offer you a solution, but sincerely , if you are following a feed guide , the ph should take care of itself within reason ..your tiny roots are not affecting it , it’s affecting them ...maybe light burn or light leak to me otherwise ? bad Genetics ?

i don't use ph up at all. Its always ph down. i grab a pinch of ph down and mix it with the res water. I mix it well and then i check. I check multiple times to make sure the readings are correct.

do not ph your water until after you nute it, and ALWAYS start with silica if you use it, followed by Cali mag, then whatever else your plant tells you it needs .

not following schedule, just taking notes from members, but it dosnt seem like anyone is using mc in hydroponic

i don't use silica or calmag. based on penny advisement its not needed.

And , How is all of that working out for you ... :ganjamon:
based on that picture you posted I think you have a serious light leak and your water level is too high .

i‘m off to the doctor .. but always Around :)
