PK Perpetual Grow Journal 2020

And , How is all of that working out for you ... :ganjamon:
based on that picture you posted I think you have a serious light leak and your water level is too high .

i‘m off to the doctor .. but always Around :)
ok i reduced the water level and its now right under the black cup of the pot.
ph was at 7, i've not used ph down yet.
Here is the pail i use

not following schedule, just taking notes from members, but it dosnt seem like anyone is using mc in hydroponic

Actually there are a few of us doing it. I've got my white widow and blueberry drying right now that was grown using MC in hydro.
@West Hippie , @bluter (hempy style) and a few others are as well. Works just fine, in mid flower it's been noticed to have some cal/mg issues that can be corrected.
I'll be starting up another batch of Autos using MC soon and will journal this one. I'll tag you in it if you'd like.

3-6 inches below your basket ...your air stones are there to create mist , mix nutes, and encourage the roots to seek food ..add more gravel and make sure , zero , light can get into your bucket.
I guarantee, following the advise you have received regarding mc, your ph will stabilize.

mc is pretty idiot proof ...trust me if I can do it anyone can ! :goodluck:

I don’t think his nutes are the problem . It’s his basket

There is something else at play....im sure of it, just can't wrap my head on the what...though light leaks are a good possibility, the cold temps and the shocks the plant has gone through (tuff lol girl to ride it out!) May all be factors at play too. Great call on lowering water level!!!...i ride mine high but do Ebb and Flow so I don't even think on it (shallow tubs).

@Northern Hydro I think it's the water level under the basket. there needs to be a gap there so that humidbuilds up around the roots. And the most from the bubbles.

Hi PK OK if I follow? I have read A few pages back. Make sure you trust the readings your meter is giving you. I run a RDWC I would have the water maybe a inch below the basket. Make sure the mist from the air stone is getting the basket wet. Top water several times a day with res water until you see roots coomng out the bottom then lower the water a few more inches and reduce top watering to 1 or twice a day until you have enough roots to stop top feeding. That's my 2cents. Your Tap water is amazing!

He is drowning them ..all should be good now if adjusted :)

Hey thanks a bunch 420 fam!
ok, so only thing i did this morning is take @Northern Hydro suggestion on emptying the water. So like i mentioned i emptied it to right below the hole where the pibbles are. So, now the entire section where the pibbles are is now empty.

Currently The res are as follow
Right Rez | Gorilla Glue
ph 6.5 i've not touched this at all
ppm 248 from 250
res temp 19c

Left Rez | Mystery Girl
PH 6.5 and i've not touched this at all neither
PPM 250 from 250
Res temp 18c

i don't get it, but the ph now is at 6.5 and again i've not adjusted anything. I think @Stltoed is right about my TDS meter and PH meter. Their wack amazon shit.
I'd love to get the bluelab ph adjuster and tds meter with ph reader. Unless you guys think the adjuster is not needed which then i would get the tds meter and ph meter from bluelab? amazon price 240 with prime

one thing to add is that the pump is pushing rez water inside the pibbles as this was mentioned by @Stltoed. Its now dripping as well. Crazy enough this is how i had it originally and it was mentioned to fill it up more.

do we have any sponsors that carry bluelab and can beat amazon price?

Thanks for the visit and thought. There is a pump in the rez that brings the water to the pibbles.

I’m not sure of sponsors carrying pens, but apera makes good products as well, I use their ph pen and have no complaints.
do they have replacement parts? specifically the probe?
they seem to cost the same as bluelab

Just make sure the area where your roots are in the pebbles is getting wet. Water coming from a tube with any force my be too much for new roots

Get the Hanna GroChek. You are able to calibrate pH and EC/TDS manually, it has a 1 push button that tells you if the probe and meter needs to be cleaned and calibrated, and you can buy replacement probes if you ever need to. If you had an RDWC setup like @Stltoed or @oldsmokey I would suggest you buy a constant monitoring setup like they have.
The Grocheck looks pretty cool.

In the res but not in the buckets? I thought it was the popping of the bubbles in the buckets that kept the RH up and the roots moist.
i've got the air stone that is creating bubbles and the pump that is sucking water to the pibbles inside the bucket/rez.
since i brought the water level up i took the pump hoes away from the pibbles and just put it in the bucket to rotate the water. The hoes of the pump is now in the pibbles again while the water level is lowered.

The pink light is my first mars hydro. I've got that set on the mystery girls that are in dirt.

I have not adjusted the light for these pictures

Thanks for that info. So, i have feeling i will be going towards rdwc, although this setup is a dwc. I guess i should just get the constant monitoring since i will moving towards rdwc?

i had enough of picking up buckets of water and transfering. lol, one res and that should save my back :laughtwo: :laughtwo:
