Outdoor Growing With BeezLuiz

Yes indeed, that too. I even gave you your own worksheet labeled "Shed" (clever name, right?).

Here's an update on the winter auto run. These are all less than a week old, so not much to look at yet. I began feeding them today with 1.5g/gal of MC.

My Lemon Auto failed to launch so after about 4 days in the soil I dug it up.
Kinda odd that it looks like it wanted to come up, but just stalled. Oh well, I think I'll be fine with the 5 that I have going now.

My three White Zelicas seem to be cruising along - hoping I get at least one female out of the three.

The Glueberry looks a tad bit yellow. It's too early to worry about nutrient levels or ph, so I'm thinking maybe the light is a bit to much for it. I moved it about 10 inches further from the light and will keep an eye on it.

Oh... almost forgot the Northern Lights. It's looking fine although a bit off center in the solo cup.

A shame about the Lemon Auto, it looks a bit like part of the membrane remained trapping the cotyledons from opening, but then again it is probably just my eyesight!

I had this happen recently with a Mango Sherbert, and after tearing the membrane open by putting a needle between the cotyledons and drawing it forward, I had to physically hold the cotyledons apart over 2 or 3 days to get them to stay open, but now it is on it's way to getting big and healthy, altho that is the first mutant that I have had that has come right, and in this case I am glad that I persisted. Your other seedlings are looking very nice.

Too bad about the Lemon auto, but the other 5 little beauties will probably keep you busy for awhile!

Good call on moving the GBa from the light, but it will be needing nutes as well any day now!
Agreed. It got fed yesterday.

It does indeed look like the membrane is still on, but it's not. Just before the photo, I rinsed it to get some of the soil off. The shine is just water.

Probably so. After I started the six seeds, I thought to myself, "Can I handle six plants in this small grow space?" Now I'm just thinking to myself, "Can I handle five plants in this small grow space?" :laughtwo:

It seem that I always have at least one that won’t participate with the group and then it’s replaced with another that is a week behind the rest of the family in the tent. and as you know with autos that messes with the schedule.

I haven't grown a whole lot of autos so far, but definitely the ones I've grown have been very unpredictable. Fingers crossed on this batch.

Speaking of this batch, here's a quick update on them.
They are now at 15 days above ground (Northern Lights only 13 days) and all growing about the same rate. They are all now working on their 3rd node. I've been giving them all 1.5 g/gal of MC, but next feeding will be bumped up to 2.0 g/gal. The Glueberry is still looking more pale than the others. Not sure why, but it's looking healthy otherwise.

Looking like they’re off to a great start, Beez! I wonder if blueberry is just one of those lime colored strains? I had an og kush I was convinced I was under feeding for months. Then I finally looked up the breeder info and it said signature lime green color. Doh!!

But you have grown some beautiful ones :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hopefully the Glueberry is just hungry and will take the bump in stride.
Looking forward to watching you grow this one out!

They are all looking pretty darn happy BZ, even the young limey. There at the age that just wants to make you smile when you look at them.

I have never up potted with the autos but always did with past grows with photoperiods. I can never remember not up potting a plant. So I have no idea what if anything I was gaining.

Now a question in general.
So and I’m mainly asking about auto plants what are the benefits of up potting and have you noticed a difference?

Very true. My son grew an OG Kush last summer and it was the lightest of his garden. Just when I was wondering what he should give it, I read your journal discussing just that. I told him to just let it ride, and it turned out fine. Saved me a lot of trouble. :thanks:

Probably so, but maybe just genetics.
Great growth for 15/13 days! Off to the races if I didn't just put the kibosh on it.
Good thing I'm not superstitious, but... :fingerscrossed: :laughtwo:

Well personally, I haven't seen any negative issues with the autos I've up potted. I start all of them into solo cups and then move them once - into their final home (7 gal two years ago, but only 3 gal last year). If you transplant early enough, I don't think the roots even notice they are getting moved.
Go Beez! Looking nice!
Thanks Stone!

I transplant my autos too, never seen them react badly to it..if you're careful, I don't think it causes any issues at all...
Your 5 little ladies are looking sweet, Beez!

Speaking of transplanting autos, that's what I did today! The White Zelicas are now 17 days old and looking vigorous so I figured I'd spend some time outdoors today (I think it reached 70F here).

I mixed some fresh FFOF with some that was recycled from last year and added some fresh perlite. I was a little surprised by the fast root growth for only being 17 days old.

I put them into 3 gal fiber pots, using the inverted sand castle method and sprinkled mycorrhizal inoculant into the hole, and then plopped the plant in.

I watered them with 2 g/gal MC and 1/4 tsp Super Thrive for transplant shock prevention. They're now hanging out under the Nextlight Core along with the other two autos. Those will get transplanted maybe tomorrow.
I hope you all have a great weekend ahead! :Namaste:

Damn, those 17 day roots are impressive..
That's a good looking bunch you've got there, Beez!
