Outdoor Growing With BeezLuiz

I finally finished harvest of my Purple Haze. :yahoo: It took me 4 full days, but I got it done thanks to the bowl trimmer. The buds are still drying so no weights yet, but I'm estimating close to a pound. There was very little caterpillar damage - thanks to weekly BT spraying, and no bud rot found so I'm extremely happy about that.

Here's some random pics I took along the way.

Pipe-making materials.

Before and after pics of the same bud:

Some trichome shots during harvest.

And after a day of drying, one of the top colas.

In the next day or two, I'll be updating on my indoor clones. They're getting close to being ready.

Congratulations on a fantastic finish to the summer season grow 2021. Absolutely stunning. Perhaps some Private Reserve stash.

And what a beautiful setting to grow in. If you ever host another wedding I’d love to come down and cater it if I could just use your BBQ I can grill up some really good sausages.

Now what is the fruit bearing plant in the large pot in the 1st photo? Is it limes, olives what? What is that plant?

Congrats on a very successful season, Beez!
Beautiful PH nug(s)- reminds me of the Blueberry nugs, with the 50/50 colors..:bravo:

Amazing harvest, great trimming, and a beautiful day old nug! I hope you're getting a day's rest after a 4-day harvest. :bravo:

Are you going to get any of this year's harvest tested, now that you're approaching it differently from the past?

I'm going with olives from the shape of the leaves.

No more weddings or receptions here for me, but you can come down and grill anytime, Nev!

Thanks, C! Actually, I was thinking about your Blueberry buds when I took that picture! :high-five:
Those nugs look sticky!
They are quite sticky. Normally I don't need to clean my scissors during a several-hour trimming session since I trim the buds while they are pretty wet, but I actually had to stop a couple times each session to give the scissors an alcohol wipe down.

I think I will. I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to get tested yet, but pretty sure some testing will take place. Stay tuned.

Shed is correct, it's an olive tree that I've kept small by having it in a pot. It's an Arbequina and produces just enough olives for me to cure each year. There should be enough ripe ones within a couple weeks.

Back in July, I did some pruning on my two outdoor plants and decided to keep three of the shoots to make an attempt at cloning. Two of the shoots were Purple Haze and one of them Granddaddy Purple... or so I thought.

Happily, all three rooted and eventually transplanted into 3 gallon fiber pots, and growing indoors the entire time. I flipped them about 11 weeks ago and they began flowering about a week later.
Now here's the strange part, all 3 plants look identical, and none of the buds have even the slightest bit of purple. My outdoor Purple Haze had lots of purple and my GDP had no purple so I'm guessing all 3 must actually be GDP. I don't really know how that happened.:hmmmm:

The buds are looking very close to being ready, and the breeder estimates about 11 weeks for flower, so it matches pretty close. It's been interesting to compare the outdoor grow of the mother vs the indoor grow of the clones. The outdoor GDP took about 100 days of flowering before harvest, while these indoor clones will be ready much sooner. Also, while the outdoor buds were quite fat and dense, the indoor buds are even denser - almost rock solid.
and maybe even frostier than the outdoor mother.

A couple days ago, I went ahead and harvested one of them as it was getting some bugs and the leaves were looking a bit light-stressed. I'm still pretty low on the learning curve of artificial lights.

Interesting!

Looking delish!

Gorgeous looking colas, Beez! Standing tall, very chunky, and nicely frosty!! Nice work, man! Happy Smokin'

I think so, damn those are some frosty buds!
Seriously- you almost can't see the green for the frost...

You're off to a pretty good start, I'd say!

Wow they turned out nice and plumpy. Yum.

It will be interesting to see the difference in the flavor profiles and high compared to the outdoor mothers.

Yesterday I was playing around with my new phone camera (still more practice needed).

And then I decided to harvest the two remaining GDP clones.

Cloudy trichomes mixed with amber and clear. Harvest was either going to be yesterday or sometime after Thanksgiving, so yesterday, it was.

I was surprised at how much came off those small plants in 3 gallon pots. I'll probably get a couple ounces from each one. Oh, I forgot to mention earlier that I had pollenated one of the clones back in August, I think. The pollen I used was pretty old so I wasn't surprised to find that no seeds were found during harvest.

Amazing clones BL and crazy frosty! Congrats on the harvests. :thumb:

Could the lack of purple be environmental? Given how different the harvest times and frost were, the color could reasonably be different as well.

I hope everyone's holiday weekend was great. My GDP clones are all finally dried and into cure jars. From the 3 plants I got a total of about 7.75 oz. Not only is this some bonus bud, because I was just messing around to see if I could get some cuttings to root, but this bud is more solid and more frosty than the mother plant that was grown outdoors.

I've smoked a bit from both the mother plant and the clones and honestly, I'm not sure if I could tell a difference in potency between the two. They were both very nice highs. :) As far as taste and aroma, everything still needs more time to cure.

Other than the artificial light vs sunlight, there really wasn't much difference between the two grow environments. Temps and humidity were pretty close to the same. The garage is not heated, and the lights were off at night so it cooled down pretty good. Both grows also got a steady dose of Purpinator. I guess, this was just a "non-purple" pheno of GDP.

Highya Beez,

Gorgeous nugs!! Don't ya love bonus bud?!? I do! I had a lady mature earlyand very frosty. Bonus bud for me, too. Oh,

this bud is more solid and more frosty than the mother plant that was grown outdoors.
Could it be that inside it was always sunny and same temp. Outside, we get clouds, rain, haze, etc.? Happy Smokin'

Almost half a pound of bonus buds! Nice going, Beez!

My bonus buds are the ones that fell off the drying string, and I find them
on the floor a month or so later.... ;)
