One Seed In The Ground

I think i over did it on the pollinating last time. This is about a 1/4 of the seeds I'm gonna have. Should of just done 1 branch. But i guess ill be growing plants for a good long time.

I also did a re-model in the garden. I counted the plants today 24 plants of various sizes.

Would you do an experiment for me? Those plants in the ground...will you please put a three inch layer of mulch around any one of them and see if the plant grows faster, taller, thicker, etc. I find mulch keeps the soil moist, and cool so the macro/micro organisms can reproduce faster and be more beneficial. A bag of shredded native mulch should cost about 3 dollars. Or use anything you have. Leaves, pine needles, straw, etc.

I've found the best mulch to be alfalfa hay. It has not been sprayed with herbicides the way coastal bermuda hay is, it is high in nitrogen and will break down and feed the soil organisms. A bale cost about 15 dollars these days. Covers a very large area with several inches.

I'm always picking on you! :) I simply love your garden and animals...

Yeah, mulching the base of those plants would not be a bad idea!

BTW Congrats on your mega-haul of seeds. Wow. That is a lot. Really great job. You should never have to buy expensive seeds again :surf:

the only bad thing is, its the same kind of bud every time. Ill only get to try a different kind if i spend money and buy seeds

Yeah but i don't know many people with seeds or that have buds that they have that they want to trade. but its all good i just harvest at different times so i get different effects from them. i still get high so thats all that matters and all the fun of growing it is better than smoking it for me. Like i had said before I'm not that much of a smoker. I think a oz would last me a few months.

Also what are the chances of every seed i plant be a female? i haven't found one sign of a male plant yet. I'm mystified by this outcome.

Yeah that male got tossed before it could pollinate anything. I used the male from my last grown where i planted 6 seeds and 1 came out male. I've been having great luck with seeds. i wonder what the odds are of having so many females.

this was one big male plant. i spent 4 months of training it to find out it was a male.

Who's Tom Jones? Am i not that old to know.

Famous Welsh singer. Played Vegas a lot. Women famously used to throw their knickers to him on stage. Babe magnet. Oh, never mind - maybe I should have said Don Giovanni or Warren Beatty. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Have a tip top day. :cheertwo:

Mr Teddy how is you have the same size green bar above pic with only 239 posts and it took me a long time to get my bars? I never have figured that out. Does it have something to do with reps?

The green bar has nothing directly to do with number of posts. It's your reputation indicator. You can see when you're given reps via the User CP / Notifications on the top menu. If you float the cursor over the bar it will say "bright future" or "much to be proud of" or in your case "reputation beyond repute". Which is right for you. But a bit daft for me because I haven't had a harvest yet. The larger your own reputation, the more points you award someone when you rep them. People have just been kind to me.

Talking of reps. your garden deserves some. Here you go...:goodjob:

I dont know man with a male that size it had to of let pollen go. Almost always have some pollen sacs let it fly before the rest open up.Water destroys pollen so my advice is when you notice a male before you remove it take a garden hose to it and spray it down before culling.

As far as getting females vs males from regular seeds in my experience the first grow I ever did was 4 regular seeds I got 2 males 1 hermaphrodite and 1 female. I found out to late what the hermaphrodite plant looked like at that stage because the community I was in at the time didnt care for new growers and everyone wanted to prove they were the best so it wasnt very helpful and the reason I came here to this site. After that experience I spent a year doing nothing but reading and learning and taking some notes this way when I had a question if it wasnt answered it wouldnt be devastating. Not at all saying you need to do this as you are a great grower and friend just giving my experience. Things like lower temps tend to give more girls vs dudes so keep it in the 70's vs in the 80's.Good to great amount of light vs lowlight tends to give out girls. My last grow out of 14 regular seeds I got 12 girls and this isnt my method it is Jorge Cervantes who imparted this wisdom in his growers bible I just happen to retain well and these are things he has said. If it is good enough for one of the best growers in the world then its surely good enough for me. Hope you are doing well. With the nfl season coming up and not having a active journal I am not posting as much everyday but I do come by everyday for a bit. My post count went from 19.98 down to 15.90 in just 2 months but its fine as long as I still get to come by. Take it easy
