In a good place. Reckon we empty the current mix Friday night by which time:

All even green colour

Light/Height issues solved

New irrigation system installed and operational.

So Saturday we flush properly with a basic mix I like. No A/B no Bloom Explode etc. 5 gallons through each pot. No clean up.

Sunday we bang the EC to 3.0 - make sure the Rh is solid 45% and temp max 27c and go to the end.

Its going to be a mega few days. Because I got 24 seeds popping too 🤣

I spent yesterday ordering mid repot fabric 3G pots for the repot schedule and ordering weird numbers of litres of coco peat realised ai need 420 litres with a 5% error margin on 399 Litres calculated. So have 240L on hand ordered this is tight on the 240L I reckon I need so ordered 110L for now. And next week I’ll order 200L (max single order on the platform)

420L didn’t make it 😂

That needs some clarification - we went packed out roots in solos to packed roots in 1 gallons this grow in 4 days before we up potted to 5G’s.

We’re gonna go solo to fabric 3G’s then when up to flower we have 21 5G White colour airpots. Because we have black ones now and we can reuse the next grow whilst differentiating the A/B grows in perpetual.

Also - my purchasing manager pointed out I’m obsessing over the blue screws on the white airpots and I’m just making up the A/B grow tracking stuff 😂 They are pretty though… She knows me too well.

What's up with the slow growing outside SIP? Much different than the folks doing it indoors, both LOS and synthetic.

Also, good thing I locked in my futures contract on Thai bamboo!

Weird eh?

But then its worst of everything treatment and medium, just scraps, but she’s a fine - if simple looking lady. Really she’s a pretty looking if simple plant. The 15G plant is all over theplace with stringy branches. The Do Si Dos is a strong and plucky lass!

Its a real good question. Different strain sure. Grown from seed whereas the other one was a clone so its a couple of weeks behind. Its in fairly normal soil, coco and perlite. No fancy stuff at all. Occasional nutes although I’m noticing some new growth since I fed it full whack two days ago.

“Getting Coco/Hydro Results in…” I mean I use coco normally so maybe I’m just not that impressed?

But also its not getting a whole lot of love so not like for like but not hugely impressed - that said she is a very fine and strong looking girl.

Oh - raised the lights again this morning on the “Long Tall Sally” section.

Builders here tomorrow so will fix the height stuff with the irrigation system. Took video this morning rather than photos as some mates wanted to see. But yeah the light ones continue to darken from inside out and the buds they are a growing. Really looking forward to a full hassle free flush on Saturday. Get rid of any salt build ups and crud, standardised health and then turn it up a notch on Day #1 of Week 4 in flower.

Boom.

This happened to try and derail everything.

Read the local English language news website. Power cut in my district tomorrow. 9-5 but means 10am -4pm normally. Look like its missing us from the map published but my Utilities and Infrastructure Manager calls the Provincial Power Authority to confirm.

“Yeah yeah it missed you it was today, have power, yes?”
We did.
“Not sure why they put that today in website already one day late. Because that area already losing power today”
Thanks etc.
Ten minutes later they call back,
“Oh so sorry tomorrow your area cut electricity from 9am to 5pm. We tell website for news now”

So yeah. No electricity tomorrow. But the afore mentioned manager is on point. 8:30am we have a generator being hooked up - apparently it will even run the fridges and stuff on top of the flower room 🤣

$150 bucks sure but bet there are 2 dozen growers about to get a nasty surprise. We followed up and got lucky in that they called us back to tell us. Which meant within an hour we has the jenny booked.

Phew!

Ooft, crisis averted at least! That could have been real bad.

Carmen and all the SA growers have to deal with regular power cuts and it really doesn't sound like much fun!

Yeah I used to live there when the First Great Load Shedding happened in Cape Town. Early 2000’s. No joke it was a pain and that was without worrying about power for grow lights!

We were just nutsy proactive which isn’t always the case! And got a friend of a friend deal on a massive generator. Instead of chasing it tomorrow.

Seed plants are generally more robust than clones, at least for me. "Occassional nutes" are likely the issue here. I keep small clones in 9oz SIPs under very low light with little to no nutes to keep them from growing until I want to get one ready to properly veg, but SIPs aren't magic. You still have to take care of your plant to get the SIP benefits.

Yeah for sure. She’s robust and yeah its a casual experiment more about sun angle than anything else. She’s touching 3’ from bottom to top with not much love!
The non SIP clone sativa is all over the place but skinny and was blowing over in the evening breeze.
Bunch of factors but yeah if I’d have fed them better sure they would be better. But they’re pretty good anyway. Couple of pics from now below. They are def growing differently between SIP and more standard Coco. But myriad reasons why they’re different and which is better. I just think they’re pretty plants! Love the outdoor thing!

I’d like to clarify for the record, Mr/Mrs/Ms Azimuth, Nick and Co have always been a friend of the SIP community and whilst not a specialist in the art we appreciate it and the free exchange of ideas across mediums.

Being in this journal is fun as hell Nick, I must tell you. Very entertaining. Extremely educational for noobs like me. And did I mention extremely jealousy-inducing? Fricking Thailand fgs. With a relatively unlimited budget (seemingly). Yeah, I’ll admit it, I’d trade places with you in a NY second. Bravo and good for you. Would it be asking too much to see a bit of the environment around your place? Not many countries more beautiful than Thailand from what I’ve seen.
