Yesterday was fairly normal and easy, apart from a couple of ours with my kid in hospital. Asthma type stuff which really wasn’t nice nut her half siblings had it at a similar age and grew out of it so hopefully all good. We just need to manage it.

Gas got moved downstairs - just dialling it in now to account for the longer pipe. Girls drank a solid 2L each at 5.8 and are on the grow. I was hoping to get three 7 plants sections in the room next time. I can’t see going about the current 18 plants. We didn’t really train this time because of the drama on the way.

But they all look big already. New mix in today. With Bloom Explode as start Week 3. Then popping - or maybe wait a day or two. See how I feel about the current ones after they’re watered. Looking mostly decent at the moment.

Nice flowers starting to form in there, but sorry about the water mis-hap and your daughter's asthma. I hope she's well recovered now!

Thanks - I literally fix other peoples problems for a living (make of that what you will 🤣) It means when I have them I’m super calm throughout, rational all that. But when the adrenaline wears off - yuck!

Last night at the hospital - I’d just arrived at my mates restaurant/bar to watch an early evening football game. Someone offered me a taste of what turned out to be my own grown. Getting home picking up the girls and hanging out at the hospital wasn’t on the agenda! 😅 Anyway she’s much better now. Her high energy never went away. “Papa - want to watch dinosaur when home and have candy”
- Honey keep breathing the gas and you can have whatever you like <blast of that oxygen would be handy for me too at this point, I think>

Just made up a new mix for Week #3 of flower. Upped the Cal/Mag a shade. Kept the main stuff mid range and recommended amount the Bloom Explode. Came out at Ph 5.8 and 2.7 EC. No further action needed. Thats sweet for me. The Co2 is pumping so anything less than 3 I’m happy. Raised the lights about 1.5” I think next trim I’ll split them into heights rather than strains. There are 6 outliers tallboys across the 3 strains. Might as well group them.

Hospital where she was born and we go for anything aerious is truly world class. Its part of the US Hospital Organisation whatever that is actually called. All the Dr’s are US/UK trained and the equipment top end. Hospital we went to is like a district govt. hospital. Basics. Only 2-3 years old. Fix up people from motorcycle accidents, mostly
Gave my girl some oxygen and some asthma drugs. Its ok. Was about $60 which is actually about what the fancy one would be but that’s 20 minutes further away.
 
Its just the Dutch Pro flower booster name! Most nutrient suppliers have one. Quite expensive 1L is nearly $100. I need to run 0.5ml /Litre for next two weeks. So thats’s 300ml I guess. Then its 1ml/L so that’s 200ml a tank pretty sure I’ll do an entire bottle before the end. 5 weeks potentially to go.

The off brand stuff worked great last time. But thought I’d standardise with all DP as its easiest to order in bulk.

Just that its 0-0-4, main ingredients Sulphur “Potassium and Red Iron, plus other essential minerals”

I doubt its got much others don’t have in their boosters. They’ve been around since 1985. Amsterdam’s first specialist nutes for cannabis so sure they’re decent.

This was some sight this morning - colours all great bar one really light Gorilla Glue, hopefully she’ll tan up today. I can go higher on the lights by maybe 18” before I need to stress but the new drainage trays will take some of that. Think some supercropping is going to be needed later in the week. They need a defoliation because they’re kind of big!

A nice sight at lights on +30 minutes.

Yeah I can go 18” before I run into the inline fan on one light. Higher for the other two but the ratchets only have another 3-4” of play left on the cords.

I can use shorter hooks and get an inch there. But I need to figure out a more efficient hanging system - the drivers are outside the room so the steel cables just leave a lot of wasted space.

I’m thinking maybe hanging on diagonal corners straight into the hooks on the lights. But that depends on the bars above - I don’t have slidable poles like a tent.

Ho hum.

Probably have 3 days at current rate of growth to come up with a solution.

Well that lush green canopy didn’t last long.

The Demon Barberess visited. Reckon close on a kilo of larf (is that the right word - trim anyway) on a tray now.

But the light, air and Co2 can really penetrate better now. It will all be back soon enough but for us we feel like it just focus energy on bud growth. We give them that much the fan leaves become less important - we’ll see. Worked first time out.

Certainly airy there downstairs now!

The GG have some big colour and shape variations. Quite light some of them still but about to get a post trim feed and see how they look in the morning.

There was 1.1KG of trim 😅

Demon Barberess was with them 2-5 hours.

They look great - really see where were gonna get bud sites (everywhere)

Really feel like they’ll average at least 250g a plant. Half pound in old money. The badly treated Banners went 520g between the two - they did have slightly more light - they had 730W for 2 these have 730w per 6. But feeding and Co2 delivery much better this time so hopefully nets out at least as good.

Second grow feel like its solid. 3rd if you count all the dead GSC’s as seedlings 😅
18 plants. Find out in 5 weeks I guess.

You're going to need to think about putting her on a timer with the plants. Kind of like a pitch count in baseball. Once she goes over the time limit, she's out!

New season is coming Red Sox can’t be any worse than last season 😅

Last week when she did it the plants weren’t great because of the Great Ph Malarkey, but its our style for now cutting way back. I didn’t even post photos for 2 days. This time I’m happy with it. We’re really exposing the bud sites to the light. Numbers/colours/heights all looking tip top. Plus…

These arrived. I can get 21 in the room. Because the square shape is more efficient. They come with all the parts to drain into standard PVC pipe.

So I’ll get a drain drilled this week to gutter outside and no more clean up. Replacement controllers for dehumidifier and Mars Inline arrive this week then that flower room is done.

One problem - the light height - the new trays are nearly 2” higher so need that fixed asap. @InTheShed three days seemed like so much time this morning 😅

Anyway I can turn my attention to the drying room - no tent is going to be big enough for 18 plants so the spare room (with Elsa from Frozen bedsheets on a Kingsized bed 🤣) is looking like where we will do it. Darkest room in the house, AC and standalone dehumidifier on constant draining into a mega bucket.

Also the seedling and veg tents need a service because they’ll be in use next week. That’s just some basic checks on power sockets and a clean. Easy times.

Oh 100% popping tonight. 21 - 7 each of 3 strains.

Sharpie - check
Ph 5.8 water - check
Seeds - uh Seed Bank Facility Manager, whats the code to the safe again? 🤣

Not sure I’ll journal them. I’d do it separately to this. We’ll be in perpetual grow territory then and its hard enough writing this one and reading the wisdom elsewhere.

Maybe when we have the rhythm there I’ll do another. But next grow is my graduation.

Sooo excited. I don’t often get excited. But I am about the coming harvest and next grow.

As a wise man once said,

“We don’t need no roads where we going”

But also - the wheels are good in someways. But the drip tray is too small and the circular nature makes it really difficult to the plants evenly under the lights. Now the plants are too big to wheel past the server rack anyway.

For the greenhouse for trimming sessions etc. they’ll be great. To maximise returns on the current room and try and hit +4KG the square ones are best, I’d quite like to flush every week. Properly. The new system will allow that without removing plants and using bottles. Plus I can get 21 plants in not 18.

Ho hum. Raised one of the lights this morning.

I have a plan where I can quite easily raise two of them quite a bit more - I can just draw the hooks closer together as they’re on a single beam. The other one really needs a new beam welded. So I’m going to shuffle the shorter ones under there for now and that should definitely buy me a week - ideally to end of grow. They have to stop sometime, right? 😅

The lighter ones, especially the lightest one seem to be darkening up. Steady as she goes with 5.8 in and out. Gave the tank a big stir and tested before watering yesterday and it had moved up to 6.2 so moved it back down 5.8.

Just looked at my favourite graph and wondering about maybe letting them go a little higher but there isn’t really any benefit uptake wise. A bit more cal mag a bit less of iron and below. I’m going to five them another day at 5.8 and see if they darken further. I’ll need a new tank on Saturday I think. Prefer just to play with the Ph rather than mess with this mix.

EDIT - Didn’t pop last night. Went out and played pool with my grow partner and gossiped about our household - most of which was about teenaged love lives, like an episode of the OC or something 😂 Also the owner of the bar paid me for some of our top grade we gave on sale or return. This German guy said he only smoked hashish he imported from Germany, started asking me all sorts of complicated questions like “what sort of terp profile do you like in your smoking?”
- Dunno <shrug> prefer a more sativa mostly, “No no no, the terp profile in the smoking? What you like?”

5 minutes later there’s a commotion. The guy has got up, fallen into the table in front of him and thence on to the floor and is being helped up to make his way to the toilet. Guess it was something he ate? 😂

Anyway we decided the seeds could wait another day when we got home. Watched some TV and played with our coughy little girl.

Outdoor grow sorta part of this journal like its sort of on my mind.

I’ve just been chucking borehole water at them when I remember and looking at them each evening out the window.

Today I gave them full soil nutes, full spectrum for veg. 3L and 9L didn’t actually get run pff from the 15 gallon pot so tomorrow I’ll give it 12 and leave the SIP maybe. I’m also going to stake up the OG in the 15G.

A week of this high end care (anything is better than what they were getting) I’ll flip ‘em by turning off their nightlights. That’ll be fun to see how long it takes. Reckon my main worry is hermies from the street lights but I could probably rig something for that. A fully outdoor grow is a nice contrast to measured approach of the indoor one.

The Dosidos is a fine looking plant but slow to grow. The OG has gone full bushwhacker.
