Nick Hardy's Big Grow 2023 Gorilla Glue Skunk 11 OG Kush Coco Peat Co2 Mars Hydro

I have a full time job too. My Executive PA manages my time. She insisted on a night out last night. Played some pool sampled some of our own harvest. Woke up to see happy plants.

Today is an easy day. Will grab some snaps before we water.

Then once watered and cleaned, drain and clean the tank and mix 200L of nutes ready for tomorrow. It gives us 4 days I reckon. Which is fine because Sunday is Week 3 Flower so the nute blend will be changing with Bloom Explode added.

Ordered a Bluelab Ph tester which should arrive tomorrow so waiting for that to pop the seeds tomorrow after watering. That grow is my real got everything perfect grow.

This is my sophomore one.

Trim from this one though, oh its gonna be hard yards. 😂

6 hours ago the 12 def wanted water. The Special 6 no. 4 hours later they all got fed. The 6 were the thirstiest again and yet yellow tipping again.

So they took about 1.8L each for a bit over 30L total. Some variation in those Skunk 11 taking disproportionately more.

Trained a new irrigation assistant - 18 year old gardener by day and son of my Director of Everything - which means a night away on a team bonding exercise with my team is possible.

Flushed the tank through. Gonna clean the tank a bit more tomorrow and mix 200L of the last of this mix through to Booster on Sunday.

Forgot photos. Tomorrow.

It's hard to remember everything when your busy.
Get some rest, you have 2 full time jobs now.
Just running staff is a pain let alone trying to get work done at the same time. :Namaste:
We will forgive you forgetting pics this time.
Take care my friend. :high-five:

I’m super lucky - healthy and enjoying life. Having a non physical job and a more labour intensive one is awesome!. Even when its tough doing it with my partner is reward in itself.

So yeah I never mean to complain about it its fun. Or I wouldn’t be doing it!

Nick & Co 🤣

The OG and GG totally happy with. As ever darker green on the eye than phone taken under lights.

The Skunk 11 have issues again, yellowing tips, burny looking as soon as they get any nutes. But then we trimmed after flush so I’m tempted to give them the full mid range (3ml/L) same as I’m upgrading the others to today. They were on 1.5ml (low care level) and then 2.5ml - maybe its deficiency.

Any thoughts welcome. But it gets worse with more nutes then at least I’ll know feed them nothing for a while from tomorrow. Just the usual Ph in the 5s with a touch of calmag. But ai’ve kept reducing it and flushed so may as well try the other way.

They were heavily defoliated 3 days ago so some huge growth in the OG and GG’s.

Anyone want to jump in with thoughts please do.

Morning Buddy :ciao:
That's coco right?
Ph in the 5's ?
Where in the 5's ?
Do you have any microbes or anything in the pots?

Tip burn from nutes? Maybe dial down EC?

Novice eyes and novice advice, take with a grain of salt <3
Its been down at 1.4 all week for them recommended from DP is 1.8 to 2.4 - but they skipped a day of that for flush.

Yesterday they got 1.8, today just made 2.4 for the others.

So tempted to roll the other way. Its been 10 days of softly softly with them low on everything and still it happens. So tempted to go the other way.

Gas just ran out further complicating matters. I maybe wouldn’t have gone 2.4 EC.

Hot and sweaty.

Had to raise all three lights and then mix 200L of nutes to see us through until Week 3 mix kicks in with Explode booster. They’re growing tall. The “problem” ones are the highest lights now. 😂

Not sure.

Coco Peat so its a bit thicker slightly less airy to start. But airpots.

Went 5.6 to counter some 6.5 out last time.

No microbes. Have @DYNOMYCO for the next grow.

Root Boost and Total as directed by Dutch Pro

All over the Ph in and out. Low on everything last week to nurse them.

I think there are definitely some defiencies that start as yellowing at the tips as well so it could be a ph issue or a defiency too. I'll wait for one of the resident experts to weigh in and learn too lol.

Also different cultivars can handle different ECs so the DP guideline may not always be best, could it just be this strain isn't too pleased with the high EC? Your other girls definitely seem to be enjoying the juice :D

Coco , peat.
Why the peat?
Can you find straight coco?
Do you have any microbial tea's
I ran coco all summer without phing.
But I have bokashi and frass in my pots.
I dump in gallons of full strength nutrients.
The microbes & fungi feed the roots everything the plant requires.
I just need to make sure it's available.
Get some lif in the pots.
And get rid of anything with peat mixed in.
It just screws everything up.

They loved the 1.8 stuff yesterday. Happily give them 2.4 today although be a bit happier I had gas on and 2.4. Want to get to 3 eventually with them, as soon as next week when the gas issue is resolved.

Just these oddballs that have never been happy since 1 Gallons in veg. I’ve always gone lowballing them so thinking “Right maybe its deficiencies and they’ll perk up!”

I can’t keep doing the same thing and getting the same result 🤷🏽

Coco peat is just different bits of the coconut. No soil type stuff. Coco coir is just the hard brown chunks and hair. Peat is finer but not by much. The stuff I get is cooked for bacteria and bugs. Added some layers of perlite as well.

But no “soil” type “peat”

Wow some experiment this is.

I mixed 200L and Ph’d it down. Went for a nap.

Woke up and the ladies had been watered.

Tested. All the same all round.

6.2 and 3.2 EC out. All three strains and states. Consistent. I’m happy with that. Very happy.

Tested the input. 😅

Ph 4.6 and 2.7 EC.

I had planned on adjusting the Ph to 5.4 say when I woke up. But hey. I wanted a change in approach this is some change.

The main thing they might be missing at a Ph like that is Magnesium but they get extra every mix anyway.

Is what it is. I’ll know tomorrow.

Magic bullet or massive error.

For the healthy ones I can’t see a one off hurting them too much. For the yellowing ones I’ll know flush again or not.

It is what it is. Not stressed. Can’t change what happened and having the same out all round to within 0.05 Ph and 0.1 EC is reassuring.

I’ll Ph up the remaining 160L tomorrow to a 6 so they can take a range over the 2 days.

<strokes Captain Lucky doll for Luck>

Oops.

Nick

That burn looks like nute burn to me. I’d try dialing it back a little.
They’ve been dialled back to half rations low Ph with 2 days off food and a flush for 10 days.

So trying the other way because dialling it back wasn’t working. So change it up.

Congrats @CaptainLucky

I snuck in and took some flash photos with no lights.

So excited to see if my accidental plan works and right now I’m excited. They look look like crap all round. But its Droopy Town. They got watered 60 minutes before lights out. Colours look great to better than before.

Fingers crossed.

So instead of posting plants pics I’ll post the above

Is there a reason to water so close to lights out? I never do that. Curious.

Not at all - normally we water 2-3 hours before lights out. Generally 5-5:30pm and lights out 8pm.

Just a weird day and rather than wake me from my nap they were watered but late.

30 minutes after lights on they all look pretty happy. Will know after another 90 minutes or so how well what I think/hope happened.

On the assumption there was/were:

A) Deficiencies
B) Some historical high Ph

They were Ph shocked into a reverse nute cross
Smasheroo. Something like that anyway.

Forcing the deficient end of the spectrum to be disproportionately taken up by going to a slightly extreme Ph point. Skipping a flush as a result.

That’s my internal rationalisation anyway.

Will go for a more conventional 5.8 today and hope that we can keep it there until harvest and the yellowing ones become normal until then.

Because tonight I’m going popping.
