Nick Hardy & Co Graduation: Coco Co2 High EC: Grown in Thailand: Perpetual

Aww dude. Means so much to me. Genuinely.

I will get to the post office soon!

We have some slightly stressed looking girls. Think I was a bit miserly with the water yesterday on up potting.

Not the formula - that was banging!

Gave them a 100L of food. Full flush. Flipping tonight. 8pm.

We’ll use the last 50L of this veg mix tomorrow and then flower blend. The manufacturer calls this A/B “Bloom”.

Love the Dutch Pro. Suspect there’s plenty more out there I could work with. They jist have their foibles. Even changing from the soil blend to coco/hydro nearly killed me last time. But once its learned its learned.

The room today whilst pretty isn’t standout. Some yellow. Some droopy.

The Rh way down at 45%! I flipped some HVAC stuff around and its at 68% and 35c in there with 1300ppm Co2 which makes me more comfortable. Its veg time for the last time this sunset.

Nick & Co

Yook a photo for Cap’s earlier to show skinny low in his thread. May as well put here.

As Shed will point out - I’m just doing this to show the white pots with coloured flashes really. He knows my motivations!

But genuinely made me look at the stems and root implications for these. Good stuff.

Oh just looked again - what’s wrong with the back right pot in the picture pf6 at the bottom?

I just saw and I’m annoyed.

Dude please don’t deflect!

You saying I’m doing well after 6 months of this means a lot.

You have done so much and taught me the importance of fire safety in a grow room for which I may owe my life and that of my family's too.

For anyone who hasn’t read - please do. Might just save your life.

Thanks, Bill.

Day #1 Flower

One Indy not happy. Have spares to swap in. One I actively want to swap in! She’s a beaut of a Strawberry.

I suspect the Indy will be ok in a few days anyway and that’s also extremely cool.

Unlike the room. Learning to dial in the new environment because flipped and very hot and humid and now need moderately warm and humid. 90% and 30c’s I just saw before bed.

Getting it to 25c and 65% now. First week of flower.

Ph a bit high when I tested but we only had 5-60L in the tank. Probably 40-45 litres usable because of the mechanics of it. I over Ph’d them down by mistake. It was hot and I was tired.

So from 5.4 I moved them up to the usual by adding borehole water. About 30L nailed it.

The EC dropped from 2.8 to 2.5 but probably the Indy gets better I know its too much for her and she can get swapped out. She gets worse then I keep her and l know that giving them 3.0 EC tomorrow is the right thing. A little EC Canary.

So yeah fed them the whole tank of 60L or whatever. Apart from that one with burning dead stuff, middle back in Q3 the second pic all cool. Bit more yellow in the photos. They’re on 100% light settings at 9”

Day #2 Flower complete. There’s two with browning and they also happen to be the two biggest plants. One is frankly a giant amongst the 21 in there.

So decided definitely Cal/Mag deficiency.

Upped that, not saying I’ve never done this because I think I did once but cal mag to 1.5ml. I’m always like every day even on weekly flush 1ml.

Then switched to the Bloom nutes. I think recommended mid range is 2.5ml-3.5ml of A/B Bloom this week, I just checked it is. I actually meant to go 3ml. But ended up at 3.25. Even with the 50% extra cal mag still just at 2.5 almost exact. I like that spot seeing them.

Got some quadrant pictures below. Totally cruising feeling with them at the moment. Hopefully, tomorrow is raise lights, get AC finally fixed and then day after is a wee bit of training and of course the Barberess has got her eye on those dead leaves. Defoliate tomorrow I suspect while AC people are in there.

& Co is very very busy though!

Nick (also crazy busy with day job!)

Fed the same yesterday.

The ones with browning seem to have enjoyed the Cal/Mag bump because they’re biggest. Bought a wall mount fan same as that desk mount one that is giving wind burn to two plants in Q2.

When the AC guys eventually arrive they can put that on the wall above the lights. We know what out max height will look like in there now.

Nick

Day #4 lights out. Hmm 😆

I didn’t manage to drag myself in there until about 2pm. When I did I’d been warned it was a bit warm and humid in there so & Co was drying to cool it and get rid of the humidity. I nearly fainted after a couple of minutes in there. I was only wearing a pair of shorts and was already dehydrated from this bug thing 😅 I was actually dripping much more than that emoji 😆 It was at 40-45 degrees celsius for about an hour (104-113F) The Rh at 85, 90 or 95 depending on which sensor I believed. It was pretty hot.

Took a while across a couple of visits to get it down. Figured it out eventually but the AC guys still haven’t come. The AC isn’t as bad as I thought I think. I’ll know in the morning. The @Mars Hydro 6” Inline with the sensors and thermostat we don’t use because of the other stuff in there vents directly into the 4” intake of the Dehumidifier. This drys and as a result warms the air and blows it directly towards the air intake of the AC unit which cools it and blows it out again where the temperature gradually goes down because in theory its a virtuous circle. The pipe feeding the dehumidifier had popped out and messed with the whole environmental balance. I made it worse at one point by opening the air intake that pulled more warm wet air in too.

Its at 65% and 24c now at lights off. I think that should improve overnight.

Plants seemed to like it though. Lots of growth. Apart from two with worsening wind burn. I have a wall mount fan to put in but it means moving plants lights. That’s fine. Some need a trim and the AC guys can do it when they go in. But they keep saying tomorrow morning and then, after lunch and then don’t show up. Its really quite annoying as I don’t have a quick remedy for those plants other than swapping them for other ones which will then get windburn. Still got that tasty Strawberry downstairs though, not all is lost! They can be seen in the back corner of the picture from above. I managed to fail to press the button to take a photo for Q3 so just went back and that’s with flash.

Some pics below,

Nick & Co

So popped and the swimming pool is only half a joke. We have a pool kept clean with “Ozone” or as it is chemically known Hydrogen Peroxide. No salt or chlorine. It can be useful for germinating seeds as it cleans any bacteria on the seed and softens it slightly. We gave a 30 minute soak otherwise we followed the instructions from the seed farm we used. They’re Dutch and been around for a long time. Created some top strains over the years.

This is what they recommend. So we did this basically, just swapped full popping in the HP for a soak and then well water.

Next stage they’ll go in the seedling machine with @DYNOMYCO

Bookmarked! thanks Nick.

Yeah its really good. The guy that wrote it (not sure of the illustrations) has been breeding since 1984 in Amsterdam. All three pf the strains this grow in-fact! I suspect he has popped more seeds than your average bear!

Day #6 Flower

Today been mad busy. Up at the farm with some things. Bit more in OT about that.

Driving, AC sorta, fan and fan leaves tomorrow.

Tonight gave them 100L of Cal Mag and filler at the usual for a flush.

Tomorrow off root boost. We’ll do three days (200L) of a paired down mix in terms of additives. Just the basics. We’ll be banging the A/B in though, obvs.

Hopefully the Demon Barberess is up for it, although at the farm she wandered through one pf eight 10x30m greenhouses and said “these have too many leaves, you think they want me to cut a a couple” There’s 220 or something 5-6ft plants in a single greenhouse and 7 more around it. 🤣

Maybe some photos later with flash but just a bit bigger and looked at the spares and actually would prefer them in there. Another Indy and Strawberry I have downstairs, 6 days behind in flower but we’ll need to stagger the next switch anyway to let the Sativas finish so its no problem. We can feed them differently a week and let them catch up. They’re too big nearly for the 4ft tent with 4 plants in 3G’s. Plus all the clone trays 🤣 The little cheap no brand 320W is perfect in there vegging away.

Day #6 Overnight pics. Long day.

The RH issue seem to be cause by a small but growing leak from the area where where the irrigation drains out the house and the dehumidifier meets that waste pipe. The guy that did it I’m promised is coming tomorrow and fixing it (and doing the new fan) all this water sitting on the floor is now the cause of the environment. Mopping regularly. Turning ip the temp to get it dry through the night. Its only 22c in there now but 95% RH (really doesn’t feel like that but the numbers don’t lie now, there are 4 sensors within +/- 1-2% on temp/Rh.

Getting the numbers is necessary. Have all the numbers you want, calibrate all you want. But if the enviro isn’t doing harm let it roll - but what works now doesn’t work in a few days so we are really trying to get it dialled in and fixed asap.

They’ll be out and defoliated tomorrow while some maintenance is done. Trim other grow paused. All good. They’re still hanging/drying etc. in perfect conditions 🤞🏼

The two wind damaged ones if either is an Island - it gets swapped with the Strawberry.
Both Island - second gets swapped with an Indy. Or it is an Indy it gets swapped with one better shape downstairs. The Island I saw today in 100+ and the yield I’d like to have now say 3 Island, 9 each of Indy and Strawberry. The Island meh. Really long flower too. Which we had a plan for (just phase them, bring up more sativa earlier that need 9-11 weeks in one pod but now not sure. We only have 5 in now.

Also think I’ll cover off the real strains and breeder next week. They are pretty epic. Probably no need to worry. We aren’t selling clones of these. No one else I know here would buy them anyway 😅

Anyway girls all look good over night. I need a new phone without a cheap replacement camera sensor in. Might have to wait until November and USB C for the new phone. My day job boss complaining he’s a bit stretched on cash because of uncertain investments he’s made in his wife’s new business 🤷🏽

Lovely greens in there. Glad we flushed like that. Tomorrow we start the little mid flush while we make some adjustments to the room and defoliate. Maybe swap out some plants - resigned to the Island going long. The other two - you can finish the Indy after 5-6 weeks but more sativa like. No way I’m I doing that. We’re going deep purple with them at 8-9 weeks. (We’re at #1 already from flip) the late flip ones will be finishing with them. The Island need 10-11 anyway. We can time it fine. Strawberry is 8-9 weeks too. We just need to rearrange some clones, I want to make a little irrigation change. So one special pod of 7 can get water from either of two tanks and we can handle this change (early flower nutes of tank A and late off B) 10 minute and $2 job. Easy.)

Anyway plants look great and honestly the pheno consistency amazing. 3 strains, 5 phenos between them. From seeds and batches. They are bred so deep before sale amazing. Not mich pheno hunting to be done! Although, there’s two… yum!

Nick & Co

Woah never hit post before on #6

Anyway Day #7

Environment under control. Fan still not done. Buying another one the same though.

Defoliation tomorrow. The wind burn probably ok. Back corner Q2 photos.

Fed as I typed but didn’t post yesterday - a light simple mix.

Look good to me although need a train soonest.

Nick & Co

Looking great dude! :goodjob:

I'm loving the white airpots, very clean very nice (for how long we shall see )

Congratulations on your journal of the month award, well deserved :cheer:

Ugggh! Got dropped from notifications on this thread and now I'm several pages behind. I'll go catch up, but things are looking mighty fine &Co! (Oh, and Nick, too :laughtwo: )
Many a true word is spoken in jest Azi! 🤣

Day #8 Flower in the bag.

Over Ph’d down and experimented bringing it back up with some filler (wrong way!) and then some booster - the right way but would have taken too much so just Ph’d up correctly.

The fans 100% being installed and or shredded as is appropriate tomorrow.

Think we’ll keep the plants by the fans. They’ve adapted.

The advice from @Mars Hydro for the FC6500 is with Co2 run them 8” Q3 is at my hands span which I measured as 8” cool! They’re mostly Indy in there and happy.

In Q1 we have a single girl going monster. Gonna try some last minute clones/re veg for sure. I’m not sure the strain until tomorrow. Def Indy or Strawberry. That doesn’t look like the pure sativa Island Mist. I reckon Strawberry. Its generally awesome. But will know tomorrow. She’s growing past the lights. Which I should probably raise but the rest of the canopy is at 8” so only after we see how she looks after defoliation. She is just one, well maybe two the one to left less purple is making a bid past the bars as well.

Its actually a primo spot in the room that. Close to cool air, close but not too close to fans blowing Co2 and the extractor directly above. The new fans will make it more like that for all of them and I could get another extractor put in of those environmentals are what it takes to make them all like that. Last grow they were the dodgy Skunk 11’s in those spots so not sure its the room spot or not.

Pretty good day though. I saw this morning and the Rh and Temp are solid now. As ever craving a little more granular control over Rh but yep that’s coming.

Nick & Co (she so excited about defoliating she’s treated it as her wedding anniversary gift 🤣)

This is mad.

First picture is of the monster about 36 houra ago.

Second picture is of the same plant 4 hours ago or something. 32 hours growth basically. I know, I know, its early flower stretch but its still amazing to see! Looove it! Just beautiful seeing them grow.

Nick

Day #9 done.

Oooph!

Our wedding anniversary today so whilst it looks we are re vowing our whatever its more like - you know you have to barber all those plants now?
“Yes honey best anniversary present ever! The break from trim jail on the other grow is so welcome!”

The conversation went a bit like that anyway 😂

They got defoliated. Skinny girls they are now but some mad tree like stems. The @DYNOMYCO in the first two stages of pots, 3 for some plus the root Boost from Dutch Pro, awesome.

Q1 is mostly stupid Sativa (which the weird purple giantess turns out to be) raised the lights there.

Q2 My Strawwberrys

Q3 the rockstar Indys which will be limited with height with the new fan above them but that’s ok. The pipe is perfect and the pipe/wall adhesive pretty!

3.2EC, 1800 or so PPM I guess. Bumped it a little yesterday eith Ph up experiments.

25c and 65% Rh. Nice spot. They had a bunch of stress today.

I reckon when the temp and Rh bounce up I know when they are happy again. They will be respirating and driving those numbers up.

Nick & Co (going to play pool and eat Thai BBQ!)
