Nick Hardy & Co Graduation: Coco Co2 High EC: Grown in Thailand: Perpetual

Du’h forgot this.

Its important to test.

We pull the air out the tent through a 6” @Mars Hydro inline that ducts into the intake of a 260Litre a day dehumidifier. Its 80% of an 8x8ft space

The warmer but drier air blasts into the intake of the AC outside the room within which cools it down. So you get a sort of virtuous circle going.

But moist air is heavier. So we dropped some duct pipe to a lower level today so we can scoop more wetter air from down low.

Think its going to be the missing hvac thing

Its such little things with it. And the plants contribute massively depending on the growth cycle.

But yeah think this will work. We shortened some pipes and removed excess bends and stuff too.

Nick & Bright & Breezy

Day #10 done.

Reckon that pipe did the trick. Environmental controls are great. Very happy.

Had only 50L left of which probably 35 usable as the tank pipe. I Ph’d dow. Too much and having had a busy day realised I had 80L of left over mild sunset flower nutes we ran on the late harvest plants and that was Ph6.5 so used that to Ph up back ip and give me a full 50+ litres usable. Was neat. I screwed up doing it this time but now I know it can be a useful tool for managing the two nute tanks.

Girls skinny but healthy seems to me.

Good Day - rosin press arrived with the bags. Profuction from thr last grow about to commence! See what power & Co has in those biceps as she cranks it! 😆

Nick & Co

Over Ph’d down and experimented bringing it back up with some filler (wrong way!) and then some booster - the right way but would have taken too much so just Ph’d up correctly.
Damn I was looking forward to an updated graph!
She’s growing past the lights. Which I should probably raise but the rest of the canopy is at 8” so only after we see how she looks after defoliation. She is just one, well maybe two the one to left less purple is making a bid past the bars as well.
If there was ever a time when wonky lights would be an advantage it's with that monster. I remember @Derbybud used to flex his lights adjusting the hangers to fit the canopy:
full

You might not have that kind of bend, but raising that one side should be doable!

Yeah we balanced a little (less extremely!) last grow. Issue has gone for now now after defoliation and rearrangement. We’d need to move it to another edge it happens more as we can tip on the left to right plane like in the pic you posted with the light fold. We’re back into the staggered zones by height which is ok for now. They’re all back to 6” minimum from the lights after 36 hours.

Looking great @NickHardy. Hopefully it won't get boring. :laughtwo:

Talk about your watering system. Are you running a pump on a timer, and is there a return to the reservoir from each pot? I assume hydro nutes?
Talk? Me? To you Azi, about irrigation of cannabis plants? Why don’t mind if I do!

You're mostly right bar the timer.

Some pictures below. We have a couple of tanks in the garage/carport, 200 litres, 50 gallon roughly and 100L. We can use either to feed upstairs, change some taps around and press the blue illuminated button and bingo it pumps upstairs and they’re watering off dripper collars.

They’re not on a timer, generally done by me just after 6pm (lights out 8pm) but sometimes one of the kids will run it for me if I’m out.

When I have chance I’ll figure it out but the Ph rises each day. Naturally pops back to 6.4 every day however much is in the tank. We get about three days, 4 when they are early flower out of a l200l tank. So is it 24ml, 18ml or 12ml of Ph Down to hit 5.8 is normally where I start depending on how full the tank is.

We use DP for our A/B and its specifically their hydro/coco, some of their amendments too. Total and last time their Bloom Explode. The wxplode is $100 a litre and we used 3L. Think we might use the bidget local bottled one this time, we use their cal mag as well as its 75% less per litre and we use a lot of cal mag! Its there at nearly every step of the way.

Some filler, think fishy fishy, sometimes. Root Boost early and also these had about 50g of @DYNOMYCO through solos and 3 gallon fabrics.

Great, great stems on these with the myco. First time using it.

The plants all sit on trays that are connected to each other and flood and drain back outside

I say “Alexa set alarm for 20 minutes” and me or someone else checks for what we want - the level to drop from 50-100L marked on the tank depending on growth stage or the upper range for a flush. Then press the blue button when done and put the taps back to closed. We don’t recycle it, last time I tested what came out it was at like Ph 4.4 or something. That range on the chart is for special occasions only! 😂

Its so simple now but this is the 4th system and took some time getting here!

Why is that light so wonky? Is it that the wire slides (doesn't grip) the other part? If so, it seems like you should be able to level that out using paracord or something more grippy.

You mean the light that @InTheShed posted?

Mine are the best they’ve ever been! Two are touching and lovely - perfectly matched at 90 degree angles because easier to raise and lower them on those angles. Stupid Sativas already grown up to the one 4” higher in a day or whatever 😆

Shed’s photo is from @Derbybud to show how you can micro manage the light to account for uneven canopy growth, right?

Nick

It just seems to me that having the light panel torqued like that can't be good for the long term.
Probably not but not my light or plants!

I suspect it was a deliberately extreme example from Shed.

Nah - its getting smoother and maybe this journal will roll into a perpetual. Still lots of fun to be had!
Damn I was looking forward to an updated graph!
I nearly made a play today. Love that graph just as it is though!

Day #11

All cool. We lost gas for about 2-3 hours and it showed instantly feels like with the gas so close. We have a full tank on now. The other empty already loaded in the truck. My lucky bit of 2x4” is the best brace ever.

Sativas gonna sativa. Some rich dark green/purple on an Indy at the back in the lucky spot. She looks great!

New mix. EC 2.85 Full spectrum with some Bloom Booster at 0.5ml

Roll on!

Nick & Co

Took me so long to finish this post by adding the photos. Taxi for Nick! 😆. OT. OT.

Derby ran (runs?) a big metal fabrication and CNC shop and even built the structure of my light in the shed for me (no flex in that one), so I have no doubt he knows what he's doing!
That is the most ridiculously Shed flex answer ever.

I knew there was something going on….

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kudos to Mr Derby (field) - (is he called Jack? I played him once in a school play!))

Day #12

All cool unlike my body - its been sweltering again, plus I slept later than I have in years.

Rosin, its a powerful thing, its a powerful thing.

Anyway same mix different day. I really need more boost or explode. Got to get on that tomorrow. Also going swag buying. Forty-45 stuff. I can drop some stuff for printing on and get them back by Monday. That’ll be fun.

The photos were taken by the new Media Manager for the grow. She uses a Samsung phone rather than an iPhone like me. The colour gamut and angles a little different. Glad to giving her a little more responsibility on the grow 🤣

& Co took ‘em

Scrolling down the thread to post this I saw Day #10 photos. The sativa’s need light raising first thing tomorrow. They are in mega stretch. Reckon across the 21 plants they’ve gone 2-3” in two days. The Strawberries a little slower. The Indys more in the middle. Look great right now and so much airflow low and light even with the bare look they’re sporting this early summer stretch season.

Good times. The environment is now perfect. A little too cool perhaps. See what happens in later flower but its steady 62% Rh now - I think as the plants change it will come down 10-12% to 50% without me changing anything. I have plenty of Rh control in hand to get it down if not.

7 weeks to harvest for some max I reckon.

Nick & Co (congratulate her on her promotion!)

I thought it was next weekend until Wednesday night. 4 days off work?! Soooo happy! Just at the right time too. Helping out the UK dept. who had problems so working Asian to Uk days last 10-12 days. 18/6 Schedule. Its exhausting! Aiming for 4 days of 12/12 for the next few!

Yeah we talked and I sent her what I took yesterday. But those were her eyes because - I’m pretty sure she’s on some TikTok and Line Groups because she keeps getting offered like $500USD a month to mix nutes for new Thai growers. Or provide trim services for 60% the price of others.

I’m guessing for the local market lots of shiny in the background means more than the plant health - looks cool 🤷🏽

That room is mine! She doesn’t need to go in. But I know she goes in. Spideysense, I know that room better than my bedroom from 10-18 years old! 🤣

She’s gonna say in a few months, “Oh Thai TV company want to make TV show about me” I wouldn’t put it past her!

🤣

Nick

Night #12

Environment. Final check before bed. Watching Clarksons Farm and enjoing farming comedy TV shows - real farming, cattle and wheat.

Flower room was at 16 degrees celsius. Rh cool at 60%.

Predictably after 7 hours datk the Island Sativas have pushed another inch or so and gone through their light. Its cool. You annoy me, crazy sativas? Next and final defoliation I have a super crop wall mount plan for you!

The other girls have also grown up in the dark but they might wait a day for lights up. Island need it tomorrow morning. Bit droopy but its cold and dark - I’m the same in those conditions.

Nick & Co

Umm, that sounds like a new title rather than a promotion.

As in "we're giving you a new title instead of paying you more money." :(

Not cool, Nick. Not cool.

:laughtwo:
Haha!

Who do you the sales money goes to? Me?!!!

Nah dude. The money goes her way.

She has like $1000’s of capital loans written off. Gets all the income, pays none of the variable costs (scales, baggies to nutes) just takes the gross and still asks for housekeeping and pay her phone bill and every other bill 🤣

Don’t feel too sorry for her! Any more than I feel bad about its great. She has some fairly independent money. The start up costs my gift to her, the profits - yeah she can pay the electric bill starting next month! Its not my biz. I just help set it up as it happens in my house but don’t think about the money bit in terms of me. Hers.

Nick

Morning Day #13

More just to believe my own sleepy eyes, also I love how they bouce back from droopy with the lights back on. Still a bit heavy with food from last night as well. They’ll be springy in 6 hours at feeding time.

63-4 hours since the end Day #10 photos. Lights unchanged. Screw the Islands and their bid for freedom. Maybe they’ll slow down?

Nick
