New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

For sure KB, it’s no joke. And you can’t really mess it up unless you neglect it and let it get moldy, and even then you may still be able to save it. Also, after it’s fermented you can eat it or smoke it. You don’t even need a cobatron... as long as you have a place, like your cable box, that stays around 107f and another place that stays around 80-85f, like maybe a router... you should be good. I think I got my vacuum sealer with bags for around 40-50 new. You may be able to find a good used one at goodwill or in CL then just get some bags at HEB or wally world

Morning Gazoo, really just depends on how much YOU want to use. An oz would be just fine...
I would let it dry a couple days, until they reach around 70-80% humidity. I would go with the wetter side, maybe try for 75... I check using a plastic bag and a sensor, just put what you want to cob in the bag with the sensor, seal it up for a bit and there ya go!
Please let us see some pics, I bet the color change is gonna be pretty sweet!

Thanks buddy I went back and looked at the flow chart again and first question I had was how much to use ?
and how do I get the humidity reading to start at so THANKS for your help STEP ONE is clear now thanks

Got a bunch of harvest pictures to upload shortly :circle-of-love:

Nice chandelier! Congrats on the awesome harvest!

:high-five:

Thanks, Ha took me a second when you mentioned the chandelier, said to my self I thought I cropped that out,
Had to rethink it a bit slower ;)

Nice, that’s a good harvest. What do you think your final weight will be?
I bet that was a sticky job too... looking forward to the smoke report.
Good luck on the cobbing, if you have any more question ask away! :passitleft:

Thanks, hoping to be between 4 and 5 after cure ? Not a great yield but if that is a typical structure/size
of the GUAWAI I could do 3 easy for a half pound or more in a 2 x 4. Next run with the GUAWI again and
I will know if that was typical or a pheno thing

Although the Buds are sticky Ikey I had NO TROUBLE at all with sticky fingers
Seems the way I corkscrewed the plant made it VERY EASY to harvest. Removed the
NET and simply started at the bottom branch and worked my way up, one branch at a time.

I did do a major FAN Leaf removal just before cutting the branches and the picture above with the
one branch in hand was typical of how they looked at first cut. Very little trim so only minimal handling.
Oh that small bud picture above was taken after I finished the harvest and never changed the gloves so
you can get an idea of how easy it was.

Here is a picture of ALL the trim. The one tray with the bigger fans was the trim while still in soil and
the second tray is what was trimmed before Washing.

This is the main shoot, I started taking branches at the bottom One by One and they all just dropped off without
any tangling at all. Made things so easy since all the branches were long and the individual buds were sticking out
at right angles SO EASY

BTW There are 11 pairs of branches at 1 inch intervals up the main UN-topped shoot

21 BRANCHES TOTAL
14 INCHES TALL from Soil in a 14 x 24 inch NET
Net 8 inches above soil leaving 6 inches of growth above the net
2016 Cubic inches of BUDS :green_heart:

Drying conditions

Quality buds wolfman! I feel like you just took the plants genetics and made them your slave and commanded that plant not to stretch lol! You intend to train as hard on next plants?

Thanks it all went very smooth, I do believe you may be onto something. I have noticed they will respond to a a strong will ;)

This last run I never let the main tops (on both plants) get above the lower branches, I started that
almost from the start so maybe never getting a clear signal of were the top was had something to do
with it ? I want to try this again but with a little different UV amounts

I do feel relieved to see them still looking nice after 16+ weeks in the 10g Should not have to worry about
running out of gas in the 10s if I can keep things under control ;)

That looks so good man. I think that twisting had a major part in the height of your gal. That with some KNF calcium foliars I think we could grow Sativa's in a 4 foot tent.

119 has answered your questions spot on. Higher moisture going in makes for a darker cob or bud. A nice golden color can be had if they are lower going in. Do a few grams each way to find your taste. The sweet smell that comes from the bags is crazy, just wait you will see.

Funny you say that I was just cleaning up and noticed the bottom of the HOOD glass is exactly 4 ft above the floor

Thanks just put some short branches in a bag to check RH and see each small branch weighs .5 + oz so she may
process out a bit more than I expect

Thinking of putting one of these in with the COB sweat and ferment process ?
These are Oxygen Absorbers, I use them in my Vacuum sealed Ball jars but thinking I could stuff one or two into
that copper tube and bump one open end up to the COB when vacuum sealing, should suck up the rest of the oxygen in the bag ?

Congrats on the harvest Gazoo! Looking oh so nice!

Thanks buddy, was just over at your thread and everything looks on track VERY NICE :)

i Cant wait for this Next step to be completed. This COB thing is a test of my patience :) started
the grow in JULY with the intent to use it in the COB, should be at the correct level in MARCH so only a 8 month wait ;)

Started the COB last night Used 1oz of the GUAWI at 72RH. Rolled up in the corn husk, tied, sealed
and now sweating at 104F

PRE COB = 1 0Z of 72RH GUAWI

Nice!! And the fun begins!

Sorry I couldn’t advise on the oxygen absorption... I honestly have no idea how that could affect the final product. I would say maybe do the first one with no additions and then see if you can improve upon that.

I’m excited to see what it looks Iike after the sweat!!

I'm not sure either but figured since the Idea behind the VACUUM is to pull out all the oxygen and I
noticed my vacuum sealer was NOT Pulling all the air out (still pockets of AIR at the ends of the COB)
i added the tube with Absorber next to COB in the sealed bag, This I hope will eliminate any oxygen that
did not get pulled out.

I just cant do things the conventional way I HAVE to TWEAK it a bit ;)

PVC WARNING
I may need to Re-Think the use of PVC in my NET FRAME and support bars.

BTW This is the cause of OFF-GASing in cheap tents.

The use of some polyvinyl chloride (PVC) materials in tent construction, including their use as a reflective fabric material, has resulted in plant losses in the past and increased awareness of the problem across the industry

Is PVC toxic when heated?
Even when PVC is just heated, it also may release carcinogenic vapors that can cause cancer. The best way to avoid these dangerous fumes is to prevent PVC pipe from burning or to wear a gas mask when forced to heat PVC pipe.

Thanks Gazoo, Im a little concerned due to how small they still are at 30+ days  .
I am paying attention to your COB'ing because Im interested. I am not, however, ready to learn anything else new right now haha! Between a new tent, new strains, new soil, etc. o_O Im freaking out a bit
