New City Grower 1.0

Re: New City Grower

trichromes keep on going. but it's slowed way down. when they turn from milky to amber it;s start to degrade

when it turns from clear to amber is when you harvest rite?

Re: New City Grower

Question 3

What is happening when trichomes turn from milky to amber? Does the process changing trichomes amber immediately cease when a plant is chopped or does it continue for any period after the harvest? (ie – if a plant is chopped at 10% amber, will it stay 10% amber?)

Anyone have an opinionated response?

As the trichomes mature they change from clear to cloudy to amber. Trichomes continue to

mature after the plant is harvested so a higher percentage of amber trichomes will be on the

buds then when it was harvested.

Re: New City Grower

when I say degrade there are more amber which in turn the thc starts to go to the cannaniods cbd cbn and so no

It's all personal preff. Clear trics mean a buzzy heady high.... As they move to milky it's becoming more of a stoned high... The more amber is the more couch lock.... As a rule though yip ur approaching harvest at this point

Re: New City Grower

Fish4Fun420, yes when the trichomes mature they change from cloudy to amber and the plant is done growing. You need a 30x jewelers loupe to see the trichomes and judge when to harvest. Most people harvest from 5%-30% amber trichomes. Harvest at 5%-15% amber trichomes for a "head high" energetic effect and harvest at 30%-50% amber trichomes for a "body stone" sedative effect strain dependent.

Re: New City Grower

The decay of THC is accompanied by a change in the color of the resin from clear to amber. This is the other sign of ripeness that can only be determined by magnification. What you’re looking for is the point at which the production of fresh resin is still just barely outpacing the decay.

And yes they continue to decay for a short period after harvest.

Good info there John. I agree that asome sort of magnification is a must ina ny growers arsenal!

Alex, I must agree as well on the matter of personal preference. Most of these answers are based on it anyway ;)
