My Grow

Don't know why I'm bothering to post as it appears everyone has left. Oh well, at least I'll know what I did & didn't do.
Anyway, the 2 bigger plants W.W. & P.T. both needed fed again this morning. Just fed them Saturday morning. They are now going through a gallon each every 2 days. The OG seems to be doing much better & growing again. The Aurora is still a bit of a problem child. Some of her bottom leaves started showing the "P" def. again. This morning I flushed her with 15 gallons of water & then 1 gal. of nutes at the end. First plant I ever had that did not droop at all after a flush.
I'm following the RQS recommendation for fixing a "P" def. From now on I'm going to try to find the solutions to things myself; instead of asking for help. Not that some of the help wasn't good help. More because you get too many varying opinions. Makes you not know which way to go.
I took today off work to finish dealing with my car stuff. Insurance adjuster is suppose to call today. I still need to get a 3rd estimate on repairs. Got one for $2900 & one for $3800. The $2900 shop seemed to want to skimp on things & the $3800 shop seemed to add things I don't think I need. So I'm looking to find one somewhere in between.
I also have to send Spider Farmer pics of the light that quit. Sounds like it's still under warranty & I'll get a replacement.
I'm watching ads for used Mars TSL2000's as I want to buy 4 more of them. Get my shed up & running again once I get at least 2 of them.

Hey Buds :ciao:
Sorry about the light, hope they come good for it.

Stay safe
Bill

Happy belated birthday Buds! I was offsite all last week and sorry to hear about the car and light damage. At least those two things seem be getting sorted out so that's good news!

The plants look pretty happy now. :welldone:

MC alone (or with some added MSA) usually works fine for veg. In flower is where things can go sideways, so you might want to keep the flowering formulas in your back pocket just in case.
Get my shed up & running again once I get at least 2 of them.
Nothing better than an up and running Shed! :cheesygrinsmiley:

This morning I defoliated all my plants for the 2nd time as they were getting too bushy & preventing the light from getting the centers to grow upwards. I pretty much trimmed them up the way I would to start flower. By Sunday, I plan to put the "POP TARTS" in the closet under the Vipar Blurple to start flowering it. I want to start this one before the rest as it's a bag seed & I'm not sure of the sex. Something tells me it's a male. Sure hope not. The others need another 2 weeks of veg anyways; now that they're coming around.
Here's some pics.

My tent is 82 - 84F during lights on & gets down to about 76F at lights out. RH is about 35% - 40% lights on & 50% - 60% lights out. I'm feeding 3 of my plants at 5.5 gr. MC, 4 ml. of "N", 3 ml. of Cal-Mag & 4 ml. of "Si". The "POP TARTS gets 6 gr. MC, 6 ml. of "N", 3 ml. of Cal-Mag & 6 ml. of "Si". 2 of the 4 get 1 gal. of feed every 2 days & they still start going limp by then. I may need to start feeding them daily. The other 2 get a gal. also but it lasts for 3 days till they need fed again.
So far I'm pretty happy with the results. I feel like my plants did a complete turn around in the past 2 weeks.

Here are the Clones in the 2 gal. pots. They seem to be doing pretty good. My buddy is suppose to pick these 4 up this Sunday.

Then there's my 6 clones (will be 7) to work with. If they look good in the next couple of weeks I'll keep them for some comparison grows. Got to test the self watering pots out & Super Soil to see how that goes.

And of course a group shot of everything.

Hey Buds they are looking great. Glad to see these girls turning around for you. I'm looking forward to your clone experiment. Have a great weekend.

Thanks guys ! Yeah, I'm kind of going by whatever I see happening on each plant separately & adding N & Cal-Mag as needed. Some need more, some less. So far, so good.
I'm looking forward to that comparison grow also. I'd say 4 of the clones are looking pretty good so far. Hope the other 2 do OK so I can compare everything. Otherwise, I'll only be using the 4 for comparison. I'm itching to try the So-Hum soil & the self watering pots. As soon as I know if the Pop Tarts is female or not I can start that grow.

Moved the POP TARTS to the closet under the Blurple today. She will get her first 12/12 tonight. I set the timer from 10 pm to 10 am so I can feed & stuff before work.
Tomorrow, the 4 clones in 2 gal. pots go to a friend; so that will clear more out for flowering.
Here's a few pics of things for the moment.

Well, I might be doing things a little different then originally planned. I'm not positive yet, but I think I'm seeing the start of some pistils on the "POP TARTS". Just about all the plants are showing their sex; but this one I wasn't sure of. The only other plant I consider big enough to flower is the "WHITE WIDOW". So I'm thinking about putting the TSL2000 in the closet with the "POP TARTS & WHITE WIDOW" to start flowering while the other 2 get bigger. Then switch things back once they are all ready to flower & move the clones to the closet to start the comparison grow. I started 5 more clones from the same "Aurora Indica" yesterday, to make sure I have enough clones for that grow.
I might start that journal next week & add comparisons as the clones get stable. I have 2 in 1 gal. pots now to work with; so I'm thinking I'll start with FFOF with MC vs. FFOF with 1/3rd So-Hum Super Soil in the bottom & just water. Then every 7-10 days add a comparison as the clones get ready.

I'm noticing something in my tent that makes me think my hunch about @Mars Hydro lights is on the money. I have 4 Vipar PAR1500's. One over each plant. I have one Mars Hydro TSL2000 down the center of my tent. Even though each plant has it's own light directly above it, all the plants bend toward the middle (TSL2000). I can move the plants to different spots & the leaves will turn toward the TSL within a day or two. Therefore, my conclusion is Mars has a better light spectrum. Wasn't really trying for a light comparison, but since I noticed it I figured I'd mention it. Hope Mars has a good 4-20 sale as I need 2 more TSL2000's.... lol.
Hey Mars, want to sponsor a comparison grow ? I'm doing 6 "Aurora Indica Clones". Nutes vs. So-Hum Super Soil / Top watering in Grow Bags vs. 5 gal. self watering pots / Short, Wide Pot vs. Tall Narrow Pot / Maybe a 7th plant with So-Hum in a 5 gal. self watering pot. I already have several growers waiting to see the comparison journal. Should be interesting.

I just bought 2 Mars Hydro TS1000's on my way home from work. Got 2 for $100. Couldn't pass that up. The guy said he started buying stuff to grow indoors, but changed his mind & is growing outdoors since he has a 1/2 acre. He says they haven't been used yet. He's got a bunch of seeds so I might get some from him. Probably just 5-10 GG Auto seeds.
So going to put the shed back to growing conditions over the weekend & move the clones out there to veg. Hope to start the comparison grow this weekend too as 2 of the clones are growing like crazy. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I just checked the lights out & I think they are new. All original packaging, Sealed bags & twist ties. Manual & Stickers.
Looks just like when I get them from Mars. Tested them & they seem to work fine. That was a good find. Doesn't happen all that often, but I have found some great deals. Now I need a 6" fan & I'll be all set. I'm sure I can get one for $30 or less.

Good for you Buds. Are you using these for the clone grows?

I'm going to use the 2 TS1000's & the TSL2000 for Vegging the clones. Not sure what I'll do in flower yet. The Tent will have 5 Vipars & the shed the Mars. Only about 100 watts difference in the 2 set ups so playing it by ear for now.

Them's some happy plants Buds! You have gotten very good at this. :woohoo: :green_heart:
I'm getting to a point where problems are getting easier to identify earlier. I'm not always sure how to fix it though.
That's why I have you ! ;) Thanks for all the help, info & tips over the years. Much appreciated.
I am wondering about something. The So-Hum soil. I keep hearing of people adding stuff like worm castings. So why do they add stuff if it's not needed ? Or is it needed ? Planning to use the So-Hum in the next few days so wondering if I need to pick anything up at the Hydro store before hand.

People like to tinker. Worm castings are a good thing to add to an organic grow, but it is totally unnecessary in a supersoil like sohum. As long as you don't put too many, its not going to hurt a thing, but keep in mind that wc gets used up and when it does it can create voids in your soil. Don't create voids in your container. Sohum is pretty complete the way it is and personally I would not mess with it. If you want wc, fine, but put thin 1/4 inch layers here and there as you build up your container. Don't go any thicker than that or you can restrict water flow. Don't blend it into the soil as that gives the roots no chance to specialize where they find the wc.
