My Grow

Ok, let's do a little update on my current grow. Here is how the OG KUSH is looking at this point. She's almost big enough to flower. I'd like to get her just a little bigger before the flip.

The WHITE WIDOW is big enough to put in flower now. But I'm waiting on the Pop Tarts to show me the sex. I'm still not totally sure. Should know in the next few days as somethings starting to develop at the nodes. Too small to really tell though.

Then there's the (Problem Child) AURORA INDICA which really hasn't been a problem at all since changing things up.
She's the smallest plant of the bunch, but is starting to fill out nicely. I think if I gave the Aurora & OG 2 more weeks they'd be just about the size I want them. Not sure if I have the room to keep them in Veg or not though. I'll know once I get my shed set up & ready over the weekend.

People like to tinker. Worm castings are a good thing to add to an organic grow, but it is totally unnecessary in a supersoil like sohum. As long as you don't put too many, its not going to hurt a thing, but keep in mind that wc gets used up and when it does it can create voids in your soil. Don't create voids in your container. Sohum is pretty complete the way it is and personally I would not mess with it. If you want wc, fine, but put thin 1/4 inch layers here and there as you build up your container. Don't go any thicker than that or you can restrict water flow. Don't blend it into the soil as that gives the roots no chance to specialize where they find the wc.
No, I wasn't planning to add anything if it's not needed. Thanks !

They look fantastic Buds. I really like the looks of that White Widow; she looks like she could be special.

POP TARTS.... this one is really stretching. I was 12" from the canopy a few days ago. This morning it was about 2" away from the light. Raised the light a little. Sure hope it's a female as she is a really nice size plant. Had to add a few glam shots.... lol.

The CLONES. So here are the 5 clones I took about a week ago. They should all be rooted soon. So far every clone has rooted. But one died in the Solo Cup. First clone that died on me after it was put in soil.

3 clones that were rooted & put in Solo Cups. Last 2 pics is just to show how bad they get to looking but still survive.
I've had clones so wilted & with dried up leaves that I thought for sure would die. But they take a lickin' & keep on tickin' !

As you can see in the pics there is new growth starting to develop now; so she'll come around in a week or so.
I don't plan to keep all the clones. I just need 4 more decent ones to work with & I'll put the rest in the yard or porch since I wont care if they get stolen.

More Clones.....

That small clone on the right in the pics looked like the one in the Solo Cup about a week ago. She's starting to take off now.

These next 2 clones are the 2 I plan to start the comparison grow with in the next few days. I think they look big & healthy enough. Won't be long till they are ready to top & LST.

More to come over the weekend as I get things all situated.

Awe Chit Man ! I think the POP TARTS might be a male. Looks like something other than a calyx is starting to grow in the nodes. Almost looks like they could be clusters of balls; but not totally sure yet. Another day or 2 will tell the story.

Well around AZ. it's starting to get hot again so all the critters & scorpions are coming out. I killed 12 scorpions in 3 days last week. For this reason I cleaned out behind my shed today. I sprayed the perimeter of the shed with scorpion killer & set off 3 foggers inside the shed. Yeah, I know... foggers aren't for scorpions. But when you set 3 off in a 12x12 shed it works.... lol. Did this last time & killed several inside. Besides, it kills any other pests I might have in there. It hasn't really been used in over a year so figured this is best before re-doing the grow area in there. Tomorrow I'll get the shed together after I air & clean it out.

Going to up-pot some clones in the morning so I can start the comparison grow. I'll try to start that journal on Sunday.

Pop Tarts is a male. Off with his head... That Bastard ! It'll be chopped , bagged & trashed today.
Since I only have 3 plants to flower I'm just going to flower those in the shed with the Mars Lights. They all take the same nutes so it will make things easier to mix & take out there.
The Clones can all Veg under the 5 Vipars.
Spent most the morning prepping stuff for the other journal. Tomorrow I will start it.

I almost got it all done yesterday, but got to do the finishing touches up this morning. I hope to move the plants out there tonight. Lights are all hung. Just need to add the timer. Hung a 12" Oscillating Fan on the wall. It has a window AC already. Don't have an intake or exhaust, but might add it later.
I also chopped the Pop Tarts down & trashed it.

I started the comparison grow. Here's the link for anyone interested.

Now I remember why I wasn't using my shed for growing. Light shines through the window AC into the grow area during lights out. I'm going to build an oversized cover to go around it so the light doesn't shine in. I'll pick up some wood for it tomorrow. Till that's done I'm keeping the plants in the tent. Sure want to start flowering though so I need to get it done. Everything else is ready to go.
Went to my Sister in Laws for a BBQ yesterday so I had a pretty good day. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter.

Had the same issue with my exhaust fan, just put a cardboard box with the bottom open over it ;)

Cheers

Pretty much doing the same thing with wood since it's a window AC & I need to cover the part that sticks out the wall. Leaving plenty of room for air around it so it shouldn't be an issue.

Well I pretty much got the AC cover made. But I ran out of screws so can't hang it till I buy more.... lol. Oh well, another day wont kill me. I figured I may as well do a final defol & trim while getting the AC cover ready so I can start flower right away. I got 2 of the plants done so far. I'll do the last one before work tomorrow.
Here's some pics. Yeah, I'm heavy handed.... lol.

WW Pic of after Defol only.

Still feeding all 3 at 5.5 gr. MC & they still take about 1.25 gal. ea. every 2 days. They sure grew a lot since changing things up. I'm pretty pleased so far.

OK Guys, I've been moving slowly but surely. I finally finished building my AC Cover. I will get it put up today & move the plants out there tonight for their 1st day of Flower. I've quit adding any Nitrogen at this point. Instead I increased the MC to 6 gr. per gal. & Silica & Cal-Mag to 3 gr. per gal. The White Widow seems kind of dark & has a slight hook to the leaves. I'm not too sure if this will work for the Aurora though as she had some yellowing leaves when I trimmed her up.
They were all on the very bottom & weren't getting any light though, so not going to sweat it.
Just took some pics so I'll post them after I upload & resize. Back in a few.

Back with some pics. I gave each plant a half feed today to hold them over till I get them to the shed. Wet 5 gal. pots get a little heavy to be carrying out there. They'll need fed by tomorrow since they each only got 4 - 20 oz. cups of feed. They usually take a little over a gal. each every 1.5 - 2 days. I re-did the LST on the plants to open them up some. This one... OG KUSH is starting to fill back in from her trim a few days ago.

The WHITE WIDOW is turning into a monster plant. She just keeps growing really quickly. I just defoliated her end of last week & I can hardly tell. I'll do a slight defol tonight before she goes to the shed for flower.

They are looking great Buds. They'll look even better with flowers ;)

Here's a few pics of the Grow Room in the shed for those who haven't seen it before. Also a pic of the AC cover I had to build to stop light from coming in. I have the AC running on 84F to start & I'll lower it a couple degrees every few days.
I have all 3 lights set to 75% until I check the Lux Reading & set it to 65,000 Lux.
If this White Widow stretches much it might end up being the biggest plant I've grown yet. She's about the size of most my plants at the end of flower now & I haven't even started it yet. I'm looking forward to finding out.
Here's some pics.
