My First Time Growing

no worries, well i meant connect them like a chain (2 zip ties) and then pull all the slack out of both and it will pull the light to the top..
i think i suck at explaining what im trying to saw..8 zip ties, attach one to each corner and then loop 1 through each of those and around your top bar(s) so when u pull slack on them, your light will be on the roof, hope that makes sense! if i cant explain it good enough i can take pics to help me explain it. it would only gain you another 3 inches or so..

Now, I get what you were saying and actually will give it a try in a day or two when I' feeling a little better and have my helper around, I didn't realize how much I had done to my back until last night when I couldn't sleep. I still feel OK enough to get up and move around but just painful enough to keep from doing much. Either way you look at it I lucked out by not throwing my back out completely. Thanks for idea and the well wishes Lily!

Just wanted to let Radogast know I screwed up my first clone attempt, I didn't think about it at the time, but used a greenish zip lock bag because it was all we had the day I clipped the first one off off plant #3 which I had just put in the flower tent. (I think it filtered out the light too much) because it was all we had that day and found it pretty dead last night. but I had to top the Amnesia and started a cube soaking last night around 5:00 AM and just a little while ago, I topped the Amnesia and used that in a clear zip lock bag that my wife had just bought a box of (I checked this time before doing the cut) and it looks good this time, I also did this one like you do and turned it over and used the stem to make it's own hole instead of using the hole pre-made in the cube. Just a FYI so you know where the cloning is at.

Thanks
Smokey

Hi Smoke,

For someone with an aching back your journal sure moves at the speed of a hamster wheel with a frantic sativa runner at the helm. Seriously though, I hope you are giving it a rest today. Those girls will do just fine!

Happy Sunday sir!
Bob ;)

Thanks for letting us know.

You made a clone attempt, adjusted your plan and are trying another clone attempt - sounds like a good way to learn :circle-of-love:

Sorry Doc, My fingers still move almost as quick regardless of how my back feels (the biggest question is do I feel like going online!) But regardless, thanks for the kind words. and your right, the girls I'm sure are doing good without me interfering today.

Thanks

Yeah, But it was a dumb mistake on the first one, But I have to admit, it's the first time we didn't have clear zip lock bags in the house, so I didn't expect them when I went and got one. But we'll see how this one does. I'm hoping much better.
Thanks for all the help Radogast

"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter.
Try Again. Fail again. Fail better." - Samuel Beckett

My last 3 plants yielded: 24g, 4g, 6g - for 3 ft tall plants. I fail a lot.

Fortuitously, they are all dank buds.

G' Morning Smokey and Mrs!

Hope this day finds you healing and feeling righteous!

Cloning can be tricky, but we have faith in you. You're a smart dude and reason things out.

Have a perfectly awesome day our friend!

Good morning, Healing slowly but SURELY!! Thanks Radogast for the quote, Was that the Samuel Becket from literature or Quantum leap :)? (I know it's the literary dude)
Just kidding (sorry, just feeling better enough to joke a little this morning)! I'm working on reasoning it out, The Amnesia looks a little limp but O.K. so far.

I do have a question for anyone who knows (which is everyone but me I'm sure since I've never had a harvest to deal with yet) How high can humidity get in my tent and be safe from mold? It hit 53% yesterday and I found a cheap, sure fire way to get rid of it (on the internet) using a couple containers and some rock salt. Should I try to lower it? I have just heard stories from someone I know who talked about having to throw away half of their buds due to mold and want to be sure it doesn't happen to me. I'm not sure what it is in there right now (it's still lights out on my girls) But just in my room it's 50% humidity. (been raining a lot for a few days and supposed to continue) If a lower humidity would be better, I can put together what I need today with stuff I've already got around the house (Unless we don't have as much rock salt as I think we do, and that's still a cheap enough purchase for me to buy what I need). Is 50% humidity in the danger zone? I just want to be careful to not ruin my harvest when it comes around to it.

Thanks
Smokey

Your OK with those numbers Smoke... I was taught that in flower you want to be about 40-50% but make sure you have fans blowing on your girls to keep air circulating... In veg you can run 50-60% just fine.... That is part of the reason I defol my girls so heavily... I live in the Mid south and the humidity here is like breathing water sometimes... air flow is a major part of this equation... I think you will be fine... with all that said... if you went ahead and put your stuff together knowing you will be looking at rain for the next few days... it certainly wouldn't hurt and bringing it down a few points would ease any worry....:goodjob:....:circle-of-love:

Thanks Dennise, That makes me feel better. I have had it up in the 40-47% range (before it usually was in the 30%'s, I even have a humidifier because in early winter it was so dry at some points, Obviously I'm not using it now) and just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to lose my harvest. I probably will get everything ready to be able to use it if it jumps higher, but not put it in the tent unless I have too. I appreciate the info a lot though! BTW, I do have a good fan circulating the air in the tent, as well as smaller USB ones in the bookcase.

Thanks
Smokey

Hey Smoke,
I fight humidity all the time living in the mid atlantic Swamp lands. The rock salt will work. There is a commercial product to remove D amp Rid. It uses similar damp-o absorbing rock pellet things. It all boils down to collecting the moisture, calcium chloride is all it needs.
Calcium chloride is a deliquescent salt, strong stuff.

Cheers!

With the SWICKs in my tent for 2 weeks things got to 70% on occasion. That is why I go WAY overboard with are circulation and movement. Every leaf needs to be twinkling in the wind for me to be happy.

Don't get me wrong though, that level had me nervous as can be and I want it to be 50% or so most of the time and no more. Bud like Radogast, anything below 60% and I don't freak out with worry.
Bob ;)

I'm more extreme. Anything under 60% is fine in my flowering room. I don't even worry about 70% if the buds are smaller than my thumb.

Glad to here it from everyone. I'm just probably just a little paranoid this being my first future harvest and didn't want to lose any to mold.

Thanks all!
