My First Time Growing

No no no.. I have a rig and vile of it in the fridg... I'm talking about when I went into DKA... Actually I have been found in a coma on the floor too but blah blah blah... I have a reserved room at the local ICU here... I'm known on a first name basis... I joke about it cause it just is what it is and it is something we can live with but I was talking about calling an ambulance when it was 1000 and I was going into DKA.... Sorry I know I ramble and it's hard to follow me sometimes...:)... Had a TBI from and assault too...:) Good times....:thumb:....:circle-of-love:

I reread your post and realized that and replied back that I understood.

I know what you mean about diabetic keto acidosis, my wife is fortunately not bothered by high blood sugars as her problem is going low all the time. We've been married 30 years and I've never seen it go over 500 and then she just had to take extra insulin. but DKA at those levels you referred to would put her in a hospital too.

OK, my son just helped me put Minnie me and Jordan in the tent to start flowering. Looks like my production line is starting!

PeeJay's plan was when you move two plants into the flower tent, start 2 more plants - You just took clones. Did you take 2 clones?

You have 2 plants in the tent for 23 days - about 45 days to go
You have 2 plants in the tent for 0 days -about 68 days to go.

Assuming 68 days to harvest and 8 plants in the tent added in pairs - 68 days / 4 pairs = 2 plants every 17 days

So every 17-20 days, harvest 2 plants, move 2 new plants into the tent, start 2 more plants.

In this idealized setup, outside the tent you should always have 2 plants 0-20 days old and 2 plants 17-40 days old.

I'm trying 1 clone first to see how I do but have 1 seedling and 2 about 8-12 days old in the bookcase, So I'll germinate another seed right away and try to catch up if I'm reading your post correctly. Until I've done a clone I don't trust myself yet to count on it as a for sure plant. Even with all the great info I just want to be sure I'M doing it right. Does the extra seed sound right? It sounds like I'm already behind and will have to catch up.

I put the seed in water and will wait until it shows some tap root (usually a day or 2 for me) to put it in a seedling cup. I know I'm behind already (after rereading your post) and just wonder if I should try germinating 2 seeds now? Let me know what you think please. I know it's late (here at least) and will wait until tomorrow for your answer before I start another seed. I also have 1 auto seed if that helps.

Doing it 'right' isn't the question so much as doing it in a way that works for you.

You aren't behind. A wizard is never behind. He arrives exactly when he intends to arrive :)

I would NOT go for a second seed right now. It is a lot easier to have 'extra' space than an 'extra' plant. You want to maximize your yield, but you don't want to have to mistreat or kill plants because you have no space.

Take the time to consider the plan that I spelled out (with minor changes from PeeJay's plan)

Do you have enough pots of the right size for 8 plants in the flower tent?
At what size and age will you be transplanting your baby plants into ther final pot? (I take about 30-40 days, but my plants grow slower)
Do you have enough more large and small pots for the plants outside the flower tent?

- You have enough experience to answer these questions!!!

How many days old are the plants that just went into the flower tent?
Will you transplant, water and light future plants about the same way?
Would you be happier with plants a little younger, or older going into the flower tent? (older is larger, but might be too large.)

- You have enough experience to answer these questions too!

Thinking about these things will answer your question about whether and when to plant more seeds.

Also, since you have new girls in the flower tent, in 2-3 days you need to start watching for males or females again.

Feeling overwhelmed yet? Enjoying the challenge and possibilities? Don't panic. You got this :)

I have thought about all the things you mentioned and I'm good with my amount of both size pots (about 7-10 of each now, been buying some here and there as money permits), I have no intentions of changing my lighting or transplanting, as it all works so well now, I prefer older plants because I want to have enough of a harvest to try making the CCoil for my wife's hands also, with the 4 in there now, I could probably squeeze 1 more in if I had to. Also the plants that just went into the flower tent sprouted on 1-12-16 and 1-14-16 so they are around 50 days old or maybe a little more. The only change I'm making is lengthening the watering schedule, I have let them go 4 days with no problems yet all though they feel bone dry on the stick and the bottom holes. They must be holding moisture in the center of the pot somewhere, I plan to water them tomorrow unless they start drooping today (don't want to push them much in flower mode). Your right about me being experienced enough now to do the basics and I guess I should try standing on my own 2 feet more rather than depending on all you guys for everything I should know. I will still have questions though when it comes to the stuff I haven't done yet, like figuring out cloning and when to harvest. how to harvest, cure them, etc.

And yes, a little over whelmed but also looking forward to the challenges. It takes a lot to get me to panic, this is just to help with pain and (fortunately) not an immediate life and death scenario (for me at least). I can't say enough good things about you guys, Every step I have always had someone to ask a question or an opinion I could count on and I plan on being here for a long time if that's OK with you guys! I plan on paying it forward to people once I've gotten more understanding of everything involved thanks to all of you! I didn't mean for it to take so long to get this out to you today, I was able to read it, but then my PC crashed and I just got it back up a little bit ago.

. . .

It sounds like your plan is now always 6 plants outside the tent:
2 plants roughly 0-20 days old.
2 plants roughly 17-40 days old,
2 plants roughly 51-60 days old.

Excellent. :circle-of-love:
I think you will be happy with your choices and the results.
