My First Time Growing

O.K., I took a bunch of pics and 1 sort of came out. These are what I'm seeing on both plants, but just can't get a clear pic of. This pic is blurry to, but I think it shows the pistol on Harley.

My finger is pointing straight at it on the top portion of the stalk. Still hard to see, but this is about the best my camera will take.
 
Oh geez, I completely forgot to say that my pics were of a female. ROFL! :rofl::rofl:

Umm......those are of a female auto (Durban Poison)

I'm bouncing around journals today. Nothing else to do at the moment. It's busy out there! ;-)

Looks female to me, Smoke. The important thing is you aren't seeing balls. I'll post up a pic of the Bangi clone I've been showing you in a bit so you can continue to see the flowering progression. Great news about the light!

There are DEFINITELY no balls anywhere on either plant, and those furry hairs are what I'm seeing on both of the girls in the tent. Your making me get happy!
 
I was just on Truckinweb420's journal and saw Canna asking about his RH and humidity, Does RH stand for Room Humidity? And if you don't mind me asking, what should the humidity be like in my tent while they are flowering? I have a humidifier and the humidity gets it between 33 and 45%. Canna (I believe) mentioned that the humidity has to be controlled to avoid mold and/or rot during flowering. I just want to know so I don't ruin my plants with too much humidity.

Hi ya Smokey, RH stands for Relative Humidity. Yes, you want to watch humidity levels to keep from getting mold or bud rot. Too much moisture in the air can cause this. Your level sounds just fine IMO.

Any other opinions, perrrrrfectly welcome!

RH is Relative Humidity. It's a falling scale during the plant's life. Best case is high during sprout (up to around 70%) and falling through to around 40% during flowering.

Those are suggested optimums, she'll do just fine outside that range, but as mentioned higher humidity late in flower can help promote bud rot.
 
Low humidity can cause problems too, especially during the drying buds stage. We can cover that when the time comes.

I am confused about Truckin' leaving his closet door open while his lights are on, Does that mean that when my lights are on, I don't need to put the front of my bookcase on and can open the tent? I had thought it was when the lights are ON is when you have to worry about light leaks. I must have misunderstood when I learned about that.

Sorry I misunderstood, I think I'm going to quit reading other threads (other than the main gang) until I understand everything better.

Hey smokey,
Light leaks are a concern when your tent lights are off. You want to keep a schedule of on and off times for the plants. If you get light leaks during the off period it can confuse the plants and cause hermies and other such things.

You can open your tent or bookcase during lights on time. It would probably help circulate air for you too. :)

O.K., I had that backwards. That's the reason I need you guys! I obviously don't understand the in & outs of a lot of things. My fault, I must have read some posts wrong or missed some. Thanks Canna! for explaining it to me. Now I understand.

Your humidity is ideal, Smoke. It's dry as heck here. I've been around 15-20% for two weeks with a humidifier running!

Maybe that's why it's hard to ID my plants. I have had light leaks in the bookcase since the beginning, My grow is in my den/bedroom where I spend most of my time. At night I always have a small light on in my room when I'm awake. Maybe the plants are hermies because at night there is always a small amount of light getting in my bookcase if I'm awake. (I can't sleep in a bed because I can't lay flat and have to sleep in my recliner). Damn, I think I screwed them up because I had the light thing backwards.

I have to take them too Smoke... I have type 1 diabetes and the stuff that comes with it after 30 years and MS and a few other small things that are just to numerous to list... but you are on the right path... I have cut them in half and if that is as good as it gets... that's still a win my friend....:high-five: and when the time comes and Canna and I gang up on you and start pushing you toward the CCO... All things will start coming together but this too will come with time...{said in my best Rod Serling voice} Just know you can do this and you are heading in the right direction....
