My First Time Growing

Doesn't hurt a bit. Those are looking awesome! I blew them up pretty good, I still can't absolutely see pistils yet.

Can you see any pistils in the flowers on top yet?

They look so healthy!

I'm like Bob, I think I see something that looks that way....but it's not there for me yet. I do agree, they look very girly. :thumb:

I didn't know they would grow in the flowers too, but after looking closely, nope, I think the flowers need to grow a bit more, I think I see the beginning of pistols in some of the flowers, But can't be sure yet that they aren't just leaves growing. But it's fine, I can wait until they grow a little more before I'm sure of it.The only thing I'm 100% sure of, is they don't have the balls anywhere. No biggie right now. I was just wondering if flowers could be used to confirm sex also. Now I know. I'll check them every time I look to see if they need watering. I found a yard stick that was broken and cut a 2' long by about an 8th of an inch to check for water. Seems to work good because it's a soft wood and comes out wet toward the bottom. I've also been tipping the pot and feeling the soil at the bottom thru the holes in the bucket/containers for wetness. So far so good.

Good thinking on checking through the bottom holes. :)

You'll get the pics sooner or later, there's no rush. That positivism will wear them down and hopefully they will explode with little furry things.

:thumb:

I'm heading for early turn in here, so will see you sometime tomorrow. Have a good night and sweet dreams to you and the Mrs.
And everyone else too!

:circle-of-love:

I will get a pic of them as soon as I think they are big enough to use to confirm gender. I see flowers, but they are only partially blossomed (best way I know to describe it) now. In fact, here are a pic of both separately, I doubt they will show much, I just took them yesterday and we only switched to flower light schedule last week.

I doubt these will tell you anything yet. But figured it couldn't hurt.

YAY!!!!
pictures !!!!

Here is a pic of Jordan, She just got transplanted into a big pot today. The leaves are leaning towards the right because I re-positioned the fan on the left side of the book case today and it's working much better now, You just can't see it in the picture. Just thought you guys might want to see since you guys love pictures! (Radogast:) ) BTW, I had the soil all the way to the top of the pot, but watering it made the soil settle a little bit.

Good night Truckin'! But your right about the great teachers. I have learned so much and look forward to the rewards :joint: because I'll be able those quit the nasty narc's!

Good Morning! (Canna, I'm sure your up and having your coffee:) ) I have some good news for my grow area. I have been trying to figure out how to get 2 lights that are good enough for the bottom of the book case to take over the seedlings and medium plant(s). Back in 2014 I bought 2 Hydroponic Full Spectrum CFL Grow Light Bulbs 60 Watt Bulb 5500 H60. I had forgotten about them until a little after we moved into the house we bought and found them accidentally. 1 worked and 1 didn't. I looked to see if since I had never used it, if Amazon would replace it (they wouldn't). I was looking at the bad bulb this morning and noticed if I shook it, it would have a tiny glow towards the base and figured what could it hurt if I banged it against my hand, I had dug it out of the garbage anyways. well, lo and behold, after a couple minutes of banging it, it came on full power & ran for about 30 minutes until I had to turn it off because it made it hard to see the TV! I plan on painting the bottom of the bookcase a flat white (per PJ) and finding a way to install the lights horizontally. If you look at the bulb, PJ said it should work great for smaller plants. Just saved money by banging on a light! :thumb: and this thing is BRIGHT! In fact the working one is being used to illuminate our roughly 60 to 70 foot upper portion of our driveway with a lot of light where our dogs go out. Now I just have to find a cheap light to replace the one outside and as soon as I figure out how I'm going to mount them in the bookcase, I'll have another grow area! It turns out I got more bucks for my bang!

Good Morning Smokey!
That's fantastic on the light bulb, it's kind of like a fridge going on the fritz...just give it a good swift kick! LOL

Looking forward to your "renovations". ;-)

Yes, I was up at 6:00...no clue why, but I've got a lot done in the grow.
I wanted to tell you, you are not the lone stranger with trying to get pistil photos, I just spent 20 minutes trying to get clear shots of one of my new girls. I think out of 30 tries, I finally got one.

As you know, I certainly know that feeling in taking pictures. I decided that when I water them today (they drank everything in 3 days, Last night I checked with the stick and thru the bottom holes and it all was dry. Just to be sure, I added some water to the bottom plate and it sucked it dry in 10 minutes), I'm going to look again to see if I can see any pistols big enough for a pic, if not, I'm just going to leave them alone for a few days and then try again. I've decided to use zen and patience :)

Yeah, I'm very happy about the bulb. Last night I was talking to my wife about buying a new bulb for $9.99 at Home Depot I found that was almost as good as the ones I now have and she said unfortunately we'd have to wait until after the 15th of next month. Now I don't have to wait. They have much cheaper outdoor bulbs that we can buy now, because we are going to need to since I'm taking the outside bulb and when I put it out there I said it was temporary. We even have some bulbs here now that just aren't as bright that we were using when we first moved in.

Good to zen...:)

This is what I got this morning on an Auto, let me know if that's what you see on yours.

They look just like the second pic for the most part. There are a few with just one hair so far, but I also have ones that look just like that. They just aren't as long as the first picture.

Yoou are so silly... Of course you didn't say anything wrong... You typed it all mucked up though..:biglaugh: I'm just kidding Smoke...:)No if your baby looks like what Canna just posted you have a girl... when the hairs are that small it is just hard to catch them on a camera... Canna is just a pic anomaly when it comes to that camera...:;):....:circle-of-love:

Good morning Smoke... Looks as like the light Gods are being good to you... and it doesn't sound like it is going to be much longer till you can hand out cigars for the baby girls...:yahoo:... :blunt:.....:circle-of-love:

Thanks Denise! I didn't get a response in a while and figured I had just ID'ed a male. I hope they are female, but since I'm so new I'm still a little worried that I don't know what I'm seeing. and yes, I am having a good day regarding the lights. I should have another grow area up and running in a couple days. I just want to be sure the paint smell is gone before I put any plants in it. My helper said he'd help me build another front portion for the bottom of the book case with some plywood we have left over. Just have to wait for him to get home from work.

Actually it's both of the big ones that look like that. So that's 2 (hopefully females) I have starting to flower in the tent. I can't wait until this is all up and running since PJ is trying to help me get a perpetual grow going so I can quit the narc's. That's my biggest goal and the entire reason I started everything. Being able to :tokin: have a supply on hand all the time is my true hope. especially since my pain doc came around is helping me get my card. I just have to see the Rheumatologist he wants me to see and get diagnosed with fybromyalgia (which my doc is convinced I have as well) will do the trick, since in my state, my pain, my migraines, depression and P.T.S.D. aren't good enough for the state to issue a card. I have written to all the politicians and they all say they agree with me except the governor who won't respond to my emails other than to send an automated response saying they received my emails. I just want the card so I have a legal reason to use my medicine when I have some. I have access to a very limited supply most months, but only about 5 days worth. not enough to do anything about my narc's yet. Sorry I tend to ramble sometimes.

If you feel like taking pics today... take some at the connect of the limbs to the trunk of the plant... the closer you can get to the inside of the plant and to the stalk... we will be able to see what is going on better...:circle-of-love:

Unless they have drastically grown in 2 days, it won't work. The closer I get, the worse the pic's are. When I have an extra set of hands, I can try to take them thru the magnifying glass, but with my camera, I'm not sure even that will show something as thing as the furry hairs I see.
