Dang, like 10 good jokes gone to waste while we learn. It's a girl there Smoke, you are totally right. Great pics to be serious for a moment though. Early on you will spend a good deal of time looking at your plants waiting for a sign. These pics PeeJay is posting are perfect reference.

And I think you were right on the first call PeeJay, there are no pics on page 41.

Holds hands out for the Sister to apply corrective behavior modification with the ruler. How did I end up in Catholic school, I'm a punk public school student. Is this some bad nightmare?

You would be hard pressed to get me to eat a plain cooked bud, but I've seen one odd duck go on and on about it at length. I'm glad the duck discovered brownies. ;)
 
I blew it up a little so Smokey can see how the pistils (hairs) come out of the little curved tulip-ish growth:

Nice Canna. I'm happy it's a female because it's mommy (no longer has to be referred to as it's parent) will be moving into the flower tent soon.

It was DEFINITELY fun! I just took 2 of mine. first is Harley and then Casey. It's still hard to see, but if I'm not mistaken sdo these both look like females?

I don't see anything that absolutely says female, possibly a preflower growth there but it's hard to tell. I definitely don't see any sign of male either.
Sometimes when you're looking for early signs you can mistake the thin new leaves for possible pistils. Pistils will be hairy and almost white.
I don't see anything yet. It's still a youngun...

Anybody else?

Hard to say from the pictures. Keep in mind that I took my pictures with a 16 megapixel DSLR in bright sun. Shiggty rightly mentioned that sometimes little green leaf tips like these get confused for pistils.

I figured it was too early, but was just kind of preguessing (not a real word I know)

Cool, I just had to adjust the front of my bookcase when I noticed that the amnesia has sprouted. The 707 Truthband will be Sam (like in Samantha) and the Amnesia will be Groot :rofl: I know it's a male name, but I just watched the movie (If you know where it's from) and like the character, also it's a feminized seed (If it says feminized, does that mean it is a female for sure or just likely to be?)
