My First Time Growing

Smokey, from what I can see Everclear is legal where you are. I just don't know whether the 190 proof is, it may just be 151. Call a local liquor store and ask if they have it and what the highest proof available is. Sometimes it's called Spyritus too.
You don't have to have the 190 or 192 proof stuff, but it's less to have to cook down for water content when making the oil.

I knew they sold Everclear around here but I had/have no clue as to the proof. I will check into it tomorrow to find out. Thank you so much for the help! I really appreciate it, I just want to make CCO for my wife so bad to help her bad arthritis!

But you didn't have you and all the others helping you on your first grow I bet! That's the reason my grow is going so good, it's you guys and all your help and advice! This grow is dedicated to all the people who helped me grow it (basically, everyone on my journal). It was just my hands but all of you guys's experience. Guys's sounds like a mob thing. Gotta come up with a better way of saying that!

Guys's. :laughtwo:If I heard someone say it, I wouldn't think twice about it. Now, "you's," I would notice. You's guys are the best. An old friend's gramps used to say that all the time. You's ever heard that one?

Yes, I've heard that too, I just thought about guys's and the Sopranos came to mind.

Some of my girls in veg (non autos) have pistils too Smokey. They have been in veg almost two months now, so they believe they are mature. LOL It can happen with longer veg times and on certain strains, pre-flowers. Nothing to be concerned with, unless they go into full flower. If that truthband was an auto you would have had very active flowering by now.

JMHO

Valuable info Canna. I saw my first pistils during veg after around two months. Knowing that pistils in veg signals maturity is great info.:thumb:

Both my photo girls in veg have pre flowers because they have been in veg for so long... I prefer it... As soon as you flip... They will start to flower...:circle-of-love:

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the info. I just wondered what they were doing with flowers already. You have put my mind at ease and I appreciate it!

I decided to get off my butt and do it now, So here is a pic of the roots! :)

BTW, the blue thing on it's side is just the bubbler from falling over from the movement. I put it back right after this pic.

Ok, that's awesome. It took forever for my clones to root, and they didn't have those beautiful roots. I have clone envy now. :goodjob:

It's only been in the cloner since 3/22. I was just as surprised when I checked it and saw all the roots. I will be posting a pic in the morning of how it looks after a night in soil (I went ahead and planted it instead of waiting until tomorrow). Keep your fingers crossed!

I just checked my clone and found 3 roots growing on it, and am thinking about transplanting it into PJ's seedling soil as soon as I hear from you guys telling me if this is/isn't the right time. Feel free to let me know if it's the right time since this is the first clone I've tried that grew roots! :thanks:

#1 To tell if your clone is ready, look at how long the roots are - I usually wait until some roots stretch at least 1" away from the stalk.

#2 To tell if your garden is ready, look at what stages your other plants are at - mostly at when your flower room will have space and when you will have a free flowering size pot to transplant from the seedling pot. For my grow it usually takes 30 days for a clone to outgrow it's seedling pot. Some folks here do it in under 20 days.

Just thought I'd keep you guys up to date on the girls in flower. The first pic is of Minnie now, She's only 23 days in flower. She is doing it much quicker than Harley and Casey did.

The next pic is of a flower on Minnie showing how fast she is growing

The next pic is just all three girls in the tent, They are looking great to my untrained eye.

Hopefully you guys like what you see! I am so anxious to try these, (Harley and Casey first of course)

WOW Smoke!! Dang those look good. Better than what I am growing right now.

I got anoyed at my CloneBucket cord coming in through the lid, so I took a saw and cut a slice in the rim of the bucket and routed the cord through the cut. Now I can lift the lid (with clones) on and off to check roots without fiddling with the cord. All I have to check is that the roots go back inside the bucket instead of getting caught in the lid.

I have held my clones for over 40 days after roots grow in the CloneBucket with no issues. This is very useful when timing when to release the next plant to veg in it's seedling pot.

Radogast, After hearing all the opinions today after they saw the pic of the roots, I planted my clone in seedling soil in a solo cup. Here is the pic of the roots after only 11 days in the cloner.

No worries. Great roots.

Planting now is fine, my comments about timing for space aren't so relevant now that I read you have a big tent on the way with more elbow room for flowering plants. We may have discussed this before, but have you checked the vendor website to say how large a coverage area you can get with your 144x5w LED?

P.S. I'm going through a big transition now - retiring, moving to a new state, selling and buying a house. I'll try to keep up with your grow, but I also know you have excellent support without me in Cannafan (my hero), Shigettyflip, Dennise, and others.

I will check on the coverage of the light, but I'm gonna need at least one more since I"m going to figure out a way to completely partition one part of the new tent off just for flowering and don't want any light leaks between sides. I'm starting my saving like crazy now for the new light/s I will need. Good luck on your retirement and move. I hope to see you again on here when you get all settled in. But your right, you don't have to worry about me, there are other friends here that help me too (All the ones you mentioned are the first to come to mind plus a few more). I just wish you the best and hope to see you back here sometime.
