My First Time: AK47 & Gold Bar Kush

Everything is looking good with the exception of that one plant. It the problem was light or heat related that won't fix itself. The leaves will stay like that till the end. I'd say screw it and pluck one off every other day. Can't be but a handful curled up like that. And then if they keep curling like that you know you have some other problem.

Post some pics soon guys been tethering. 2 weeks in or so with the cs treatments on the chem dog. She is just starting to pop some pistils and hopefully Ru Paul will show us some balls in a couple of weeks. Gelat OG is just start to show some orange hairs maybe 5 weeks in. Also showing some purps on her inner sugar leaves. She is dense unlike MagicJims girl with the nodal space. Been picking off any fan leaves covering budsites but she could have done with:D some lst earlier but she kind of just got shoved in a back corner of the flower tent her first month.

So I've come across a mini problem with the Chemdawg I was treating. I'm not ready yet to remove the entire branch from the plant to segregate it in another part of the house where I'll collect pollen. But I might need to do this earlier then I want. I am finding nearly fully mature pollen sacks on the branch while most of the pollen sacks are still immature. Once pollen sacks reach a certain "size or level of maturity" it can be just a day or two before they're open spewing pollen everywhere. Well I just want the pollen on a few buds to make a couple hundred seeds on the Chemdawg. I don't want it pollinating the Sour Angel or Gelat.OG plants.

My fear is that if I harvest the branch off the plant the small, underdeveloped pollen sacks might not grow to maturity. I'm not sure how long a branch, cut off the plant will live and flourish. I've cut about a dozen of the biggest pollen sacks off the plant already the other day and now today I'm seeing more.

Eh, the life and woes of an amateur pollen chucker can be trying.

Oh no, the Chemdawg plant is ripe for pollination.

Let me see if I can say this a different way.

Suppose the treated branch is going to produce a grand total of 400 pollen sacks. Typically they will all pretty much appear and mature around the same time. Usually within a week of each other. What I have happening is a group of 10-12 pollen sacks that are nearly fully mature while the others will need another probably 2 weeks to be fully mature. Not sure if I cut the branch off today if it will stay alive long enough for the immature pollen sacks to reach full maturity.

I've decided to cut the treated Chemdawg branch off the plant on Monday. I am thinking that if I can keep the branch alive in a glass of water for two weeks I would hopefully be able to harvest at least some pollen. I'd be happy with enough to make 50 seeds.

I'm impatiently waiting for you to see some pollen sacks too. I wouldn't give up yet which I'm sure you're not. When you least expect it there they'll be one day.

That IIP just keeps stretching and filling out. She's as tall as I am and filling the entire 36" tent. I think I'll start removing some of the bigger fans soon and super crop the tallest branch again. I had to stand on something to get a pic from above.

She is a big, healthy gal. You're doing a fantastic job with her.

Breathtaking.

Interesting beez. Noticed what i think was a male ball on my chem yesterday. She might be 20 days in on the reversal treatment.

That's really great news Kismet. Can you take a close-up picture of the suspected pollen sack? I can identify it for you one way or the other I think.

I'm removing and relocating the reversed branch off the Chemdawg today and just in time. I found two partially open pollen sacks that emitted pollen when I prodded them. So it is perfect timing. Now I just have to hope I can keep the branch alive long enough to collect the amount of pollen I need to make my Chemdawg S1 feminized seeds. And the more I look at this Sour Angel plant the more I'm considering making some Sour Chem Angel seeds while I have the pollen and Sour Angel plants available together.

I'll get a photo of the reversed branch after I get it cut off and in a jar of very lightly charged (nutrients) water. The last time I removed a branch to extract pollen from it I was able to keep it alive for probably 2 weeks while I collected all the pollen I needed and then I put it in the compost pile. Who knows how long it would have lived.

I've been busy this morning. I made a home for the reversed Chemdawg branch in the dining room downstairs. And no Lisa is not happy about it, but she'll get over it.

Not sure what you can see in those two photos. The branch is in a water glass. I mixed in about 15% strength nutrients to hold her over. If you look closely maybe you can see the piece of glass under the tilted branch. If pollen falls straight down from the branch it will land on the piece of glass where I can collect it.

Earlier I had said I found two pollen sacks that were partially opened. Well I opened them the rest of the way with tweezers and a razor knife and extracted a very small amount of pollen. Trust me there is a lot less there then appears in the photo. It's just enlarged a good bit. I uses my micro paint brush to try to apply it to a Chemdawg bud. This starts a new pollination venture. In flower currently I have the Chemdawg, Sour Angel, Royal Gorilla and Chem 91 X Cherry Alien Dawg. Depending upon the amount of pollen I am able to collect from this small branch I may see about making a few cross strains.

When I put my males in the kitchen window, I find my wife rather unhappy as well. Later on when we are smoking seedless buds and doing QC on seeds, she doesn't seem to mind so much.

Did you ever find a refrigerator to continue doing low and slow? The butter in our fridge tastes medicated, though it was still in the wrapper.

I'm still looking for a dorm fridge on Craigslist. That's all I need. The Colombian gold I harvested most recently I just hung it in my tent to dry. It came out okay.....maybe a tad drier then I like but the Boost packs put a little moisture back into the buds so they're great now.
