My First Time: AK47 & Gold Bar Kush

Routine and gentle adjustments, while your plants grow in the health spa-like environments you provide.

That's a good place to be :)

They must be in a spa-like environment. They seem so happy and aren't requiring much attention for the moment.

Some new cobs came in today. I picked up 15 of the chinese 100 watt cobs for 1.79 each to see if they give more light at low wattages than the 50 watt cobs. More heat sinks should be here soon. Six more drivers came in yesterday. I'll be adding some light to the 3'x3' tent this week.

It's so satisfying when things run smoothly. That AK is a fine-looking girl MrGreene. :high-five: You look like you're having the time of your life with them. Add in more lighting and they'll sing even better for you.

You still haven't smoked any. You are in for such a treat. :kisstwo:

Thanks Sue. I'm really enjoying them and can't wait to weigh the harvests. Looking forward to seeing the difference in these chips.

Days like I've had today make it hard not to sneak a sample and see what the effect is.

You're allowed to do that, you know. :battingeyelashes:

Wow!!!! I trimmed a small piece last night, wrapped it in paper towel, dried it in the microwave with two rounds of 10 seconds each, and rolled it with some of the tobacco that I make my cigarettes with. There wasn't any drastic effect but many smaller more pleasant things. My outlook turned more positive, my back and neck popped after a few minutes and felt relaxed, my already high sex drive went into overdrive, and I was wayyyy more sensitive in certain places. It would have been wonderful if it had been date night. Maybe I need to actively search and see if I can meet someone.

This was the AK47?

It gives me a lot more drive and energy, but not sepecifically sex drive :)

90 minutes in a 230 degree oven (decarboxylating) will be more potent than microwave drying. Oven drying doesn't have to be that long (but it helps,) and almost always tastes better than microwave drying.

It is past my bedtime but I wanted to get a quick update posted.

GBK is looking pretty good and has stretched a bit. I did see a couple leaves that aren't right though.

AK47 is still doing her thing.

C99 is getting big and will get topped tomorrow night. She learned about restraints tonight.

Columbian gold is looking a lot better after dealing with the fan blowing on her too hard.

Hopefully things will be more relaxed tomorrow and I'll have some time to catch up around here.

"She learned about restraints tonight."

It's perfectly normal to lose a leaf here and there. The plants eat them up. :cheesygrinsmiley: If it becomes a pattern of multiple leaves going down simultaneously you yell for help and these marvelous guys around us help you correct it.

What a community. :circle-of-love:

Sleep well MrGreene. Turning in myself :kisstwo: :hugs:

The combinaton of yellow/green blotches and rusty patches on the lower leafmeans she had trouble getting all the nutrients she wanted the last few days.

She may just be adjusting, if not she may be more sensitive to the PH of the water/nutrient mix you are feeding her than AK47 was. My (not very expert)suggestion would be:
a) wait a couple of days
b) test the PH of your water after you mix in nutrients
c) other stuff (flush, consider the differences in environmentals and nutrients between AK47 and GBK, consider adjusting nutes.)

GBK is in no serious danger, but if she continues to struggle, she might attract bugs.

They don't always have to learn about restraints. Sometimes they already know.

Lights will come on in a half hour. I'm impatiently waiting to have a look and see how she is.

I did top water her last night just in case.

It had been 3 days since nutes when that pic was taken and was her first time having tiger bloom added in there.

Her lighting is a little different than AK has. AK has 6 of the 3000k and two full spectrum with reflectors/lenses. GBK has 4 of the 3000k without reflectors/lenses and two 6000k flood lights. The 100 watt chips came in yesterday and the plan was to make up a set of those in 3000k for her to see if there was much difference between the 50w and 100w chips driven at about 30w each.

I better calibrate those pH pens and start using them.

GBK doesn't seem to be getting any worse. I'm giving her a few more gallons of water through the soil tonight and letting it drain into the swick. I also added one more cob to her tent tonight. The 100w chips came in so I added a 3000k cob right in the middle running at 60w for now. As soon as I get time to drill a few heat sinks she will get one more and I'll drop it to about 30w like the rest.

C99 got her topping tonight at the fifth node. She was getting so thick that I didn't want to cut lower.

I fired up the bubble cloner and put the top in there along with three more cuttings from GBK.

I'll give the girls in the veg tent a 1/4 dose of nutes tonight too. The clones really look like they need it and I think C99 and CG would enjoy it.

I took a few heat sinks and got them marked, drilled, and tapped tonight while messaging and then talking to a great friend.

After I got that finished I thought it wouldn't hurt to check in on GBK. She stretched quite a bit since yesterday.

Then I looked in to see how AK47 was doing. I think she's pretty so I took a few pics. She smells a lot different tonight than she has so far. It's a much stronger tropical fruit smell, maybe mango and very sweet.

I could just stand there looking at her and enjoying the smell.

AK47 is really blasting out the flowering. From starting to flower 'too early' she has turning into a flower packing monster !

But the really beauty (to my eyes) is Gold Bar Kush, mmmmmmm good

I'm amazed at how much of AK is flower. She is getting thicker the past few days too. I'm getting excited. Not near as many pistils showing today and she was really smelling last night.

I'm also looking forward to what GBK will be after stretch. I have visions of a 3x3 tent full of bud all the way to the top.
