Today's harvest, this is about 80% of one of the plants in the garden.

The expression Autumn Gold comes to mind.

Any way of being able to shield them from the light during the day? Light degrades THC. It's early so you should be fine but if it's abnormally humid it'll take longer for your flowers to dry down to the percentage you want them and will expose your flowers to light longer.

If you're only hanging them for a few days to a week then you should be fine but any longer than that and you might experience a drop in potency.

One of the NorCal farmers I worked with used to cover over any windows and doors that would let light into his dry shack. He said the lack of light made the flowers push out more resins and other chemicals the plant produces that we all love. He was correct in practice but wrong in how the darkness helped his flowers.

They are only on the back porch for a few hours until I'm done harvesting for the day then I move them into my dark garage which runs 60 RH / 60 degrees most of the time to hang before going into the bowl trimmer and then the drying rack like this:

I have two fans set up to circulate air without any blowing directly on the branches.

I have blinds and cutting on the garage window, but I could get it darker if I block it out more.

PS my next challenge is to come up with a way to cure large quantities of bud at a time. I'm wondering about using my 6 gal. wine fermentation buckets with lids or even some new ice chests that I have?

I'm ending my second week of harvesting/trimming and drying buds. I've got at least another week or more to go with this process.

Man l seriously underestimated the amount of effort/time this would take. This has completely taken over my life . . . I actually don't even have the energy to even interact on 420 most evenings lately.

On big trim runs I'd usually promise the trimmers that they could keep all the trim they were able to make along with a $100 per pound.

I used to have access to a couple of trim teams that would go up and down the coast trimming weed for their clients. Both were all female. They were very good at trimming and could usually trim a couple of pounds a day.

Although, next time I will know what I'm doing and how to do it with this kind of volume.

I think next year I'll have three additional photos outside in the ground for a total of six, and a staff of three.
