My First Journal: GG#4 In DWC & Soil

Don't worry about damage to the roots with too much air as long as you have good stones that yeild small bubbles. I am running (2) 2" X 4" stones in the one bucket with a 950gph commercial pump behind it. That is way overkill as the 950gph is for two buckets but I am only running one this time around.
Right now I have just the stone that came with the set. I will be swapping it out with the flat plate looking stones for all my buckets.

These are the buckets I got for the new setup. I held them to the light and it doesn't let much in at all. Should I spray paint them black still? I do plan wrapping my buckets in reflective material too.

These GG#4's are from New420GuySeeds. One of the sponsors here. I also ordered Expert Gorilla from Seedsmans which is basically the same thing. Same parents anyways...I am going to take a cut or two off each one just in case. I got 2 that are the ones I am journaling and I also have one in a Solo cup that's almost 2 weeks old. Those colas are insane though. How did the smoke turn out?
I might try them again.
After my experience with the other advertiser, I did try them, but they did not pop and they did not have any in stock at that point so there was no need to ask for replacements.
Maybe I'll try them again but I'm revegging my chunky ones until they get weak.
Smoke wise I really like the Indica but when you give away colas like that, the non-growers like the visuals of the big stuff and ignore the slightly better Indica.

I only got a 3 pack from New420....all 3 did pop. I usually have 100% from them. I believe 1 ever hasn't and it was my error not the seed.

I haven't used them. Mine are black with black lids. I do know that @Chris Scorpio had a hell of a time with the orange Home Depot lids that were letting to much light in and caused all kinds of goopy root mess.

I figured I can just spray paint them at least...wasn't sure if someone had gotten away with blue before though. Orange I can see needing to make them darker.

I use to grow with white buckets under MH. My roots looked top notch white as the bucket from start to finish. You definitely won't have a problem with the blue. Anyways, I'm tagging along this adventure. I love your garden. Obviously you have a gardening addiction.... You know... There are clinics for problems like that  Thank you for your LST photos. They helped me alot. Can't wait to see the future of your plants.:blunt:

Thank you for stopping in. Lol yea you can never have enough plants. Always got room for more. Eventually when i find the right strains, I'll keep them as moms and stick with them. On the LST, as long as they are photos and you have a healthy plant, you can basically get away with anything. For example, this was a test run plant that I was testing a variation of main-lining on. The picture was her first time getting any kind of cuts. I removed nodes 3,4 and 5 and left 1 and 2. Each side was then topped as well.

A short time later she looked like this. Have fun with the plants if you want. Just try to give a few days in between each modification to allow recovery time. If she isn't healthy, don't do anything. Get the plant healthy before doing things like this. It would just make things alot worse.

Likely luck of the draw with me. I'm sure they would have replaced them but they were out of stock of GG#4 by then and I did not want them to waste money by insisting on sending unwanted replacement seeds that I'd likely never plant.

The example earlier you used 6? I'm about to try this so I want to understand it a little better before I proceed....

I tied it down in 6 different spots. Node 1 was 1 & 2, node 2 was 3 & 4 and node 3 was 5 & 6. Node 4 has 7&8. I topped each side as well.

Thank you, you're a big help:thumb:
Anytime. I am sure there's a few threads here dedicated to training only. Maybe check the different ideas out there. There's many ways to do it honestly. Need anything else, just ask.

Top of plant to bottom of the bucket is about 2 and a half feet. My flower tent is 6 ft tall. I think I am going to start cleaning her up and remove anything I don't deem worthy. I am thinking to get the DWC plant ready to go into flower by this weekend coming up and letting the soil plants go an extra week. No biggy if they don't all finish together. Clones will be taken.

Everything coming along just nicely. I have noticed my PPM level dropping along with the water level faster then usual. According to the bible, I am in a perfect condition. The feed schedule calls for one more increase in feed until it levels out and drops off over the next handful of weeks. I am flipping her a little earlier then I planned but that's because I didnt think she would grow as fast as she did. Remember, at one point she was behind all of them. I am going to skip the feed for the soil GG#4 this week. I believe she has a slight N tox but its slight. This is where the fun part of the grow happens.....transition to flower and watch buds grow.

I started removing some of the lowest parts of the DWC plant. Just cleaning her up some. She's going into my 3x3 to start flowering this weekend. The soil plants will get another week before I flip them. Pics coming later today.

A contest for what if you don't mind me asking? Thanks again for stopping in. Things are starting to pick up here a little. I got a great group of followers here helping along the way too. I have learned so much already. Comfortable enough that I am switching to DWC.

Hey I just thought of something @West Hippie brought up a good point about painting a yellow top on a diy hydro tote black in a thread here, shared a picture, I wonder how much light you might be getting through that red can?
