Mono's 600 Watt HPS Soil Grow 2013

ive heard a few other growers talkin about bhuddas tree supposedly the pk is a better ratio for the plants

http@://www.buddhastree.@co.uk/

just take out the @

The guy at my local grow store mentioned that. Also along with hinting I should switch to Dutch pro nutes. I may buy it and have a go on one of the plants i'ma germinate this week. Just trying to run as close to canna products as possible on this grow as seem to be having some good results :)

So, 7.40 pm here, lights just about to go out and I've just got in from work. Glad the wife was here to water the plants today, props to her :).

It appears they are now leaving the pre-flowering stage and entering true flowering. So approximately another 60 days until harvest time, but we are in no rush here, they can take as long as they want.

I will upload some more recent pics tomorrow after work if I'm back before lights out. Sorry to be so brief, but I'm starving! ha-ha

Thanks again to everyone who has helped so far in this grow, I don't think I could have made it this far so successfully with out all your help and support it is greatly appreciated. :lot-o-toke:

:thanks: Mono :peace:

I don't test PH of the water I use, but we are on a private water supply here so can't drink the water. (high lead content) So, we buy bottled water. Just so happens it balances out around ph 6.8 at run off after adding nutes :).

I'm using 10 liter pots, fully rooted out before switching the lights to 12/12. I was always just very cautious of over fertilizing the plants, letting them 'want' a little for their nutes. So it would seem they are missing out on some by having just plain water every second watering when they could be having mild nutes?

Would fertilizing each time improve yield? Or just overall plant health?

You can feed more often, but you have to use less nutrient, get a little too bold and you're set back 2 weeks or worse, time is a great teacher! I don't see how more often would help, if the plant needs more nutes, then more nutes will help.

Oh also received two super iced grapefruit seeds, (ones I used in my last grow) And an OG kush seed. Although the og kush was crushed by the post man so going to have to send that back for a replacement...

The two intact seeds are currently soaking in a shot glass of water for a few hours before being placed into a damp paper towel for germination :)

PK 13/14 arrived this morning so will add that too the flowering nutes next time they are fertilized. It recommends on the bottle to use 1.5ml / liter, would this be enough? Seems kind of low considering the terra flores is used at 5 ml/ liter...

These plants are healthy, keep doin what you're doin. As for the nutes, I would apply them as directed, if you have any issues you can address them as they arise.....these plants have good structure, it tells me the plant is posturing to support heavy fruit, skinny plant=skinny buds....and these plants are NOT skinny...LOL + reps my friend!

Thanks for your kind words buddy. It's really good to know things are coming along nicely with no problems. And thank you for the reps also :)

The two new additions to the grow journal have shown their first lease of life. Both Super Iced Grapefruit seeds have sprouted a small root. They will now be planted into expandable peat blocks and placed into the propagator to break ground.

Having previously grown this strain, I know they have vigorous roots, so as soon as the first root appears at the bottom of the peat block (generally around the same time they break ground) they will be planted straight into their final pots (10 liter). I will then veg them for around three weeks then induce flowering, at which point the current plants will be around week 5 of flowering.

I plan on having another go at cloning the strongest plant from the two in an attempt to eventually be harvesting a plant a week or there about. All because I hate having to buy weed ha ha.

Today I also tied down the two clones in an attempt to get some last minute bushing before I flower them next week.

Thanks for reading, I will upload some pics later on this evening.

Cheers, Mono

I haven't bought weed since I started....it's absolutely possible, and we'll get you bustin out clones at random!

Nice! That's the main goal of growing cannabis, consistent meds. I'm planning on cloning the strongest of the two Super Iced Grapefruit seeds, so if you have any tips on how to increase my chances would be great.

Last time I tried to root clones, I placed them into expandable peat blocks in a humidity dome. It seems to work really well for germinating seeds, although not sure if the pH is off (or another problem) for rooting clones as I had only a 33% success rate.

What medium would you guys recommend for a higher success rate?

Cheers, Mono

I don't care for those, they hold too much moisture IMHO, and if you have higher Rh at your location....well......I bet they succomed to damping off. The humidome is good, you're growin in soil, root em in soil.......happy frog soil/25%perlite.......use good fundamental cloning techniques and .........BAM!....100% success. If you need to know more just ask.......I've done em several ways, all pretty successful! The BEST way IMHO, is an aerocloner, I just showed how to make one on my journal.....the cuts never even wilt at all!
