Mono Grows a Pound

Argh crap sorry to see that Mono
Hey I didn't even no that an autoflower could become a hermie,, maybe you could get a refund or return :volcano-smiley:Will you be chucking her or an a hermied auto produce auto seeds ?? I suppose not heck sorry to see such a nice specimen go like that ,, any ideas what would make an auto go Hermie?? Hey I just read through again Butter is a good plan I will have a bit of that cake:circle-of-love: An with them 2 new beans you have soaking its more than 50/5 chance of them being female I think in nature its around a 70- 80% chance they will be Female, cause them males can do a hell of a lot of girls so not so many are needed:volcano-smiley: The very best of luck My friend

Happy Munchday Mono:)

Thanks LA!

It's funny how it never seems to be enough space lol

i started in a just a bit smaller than a 2x4x6 tent that lasted about a month....then turned a 5 x4 closet into a flower room.....then not more than a month or two said screw it so i built a 2 x 4 x 6 veg room with a cabinet on top.....now i dont even use the tent....gave it ot the wife:).....if only i could turn this whole room 11 x 12 into a flower room.....LOL

This morning, we still have snow. So work is a no go lol.

I plan on having a good session with the plants today, but first, some news.

One of the autos had been decidedly droopy for the past couple of days. No idea why, not over or under watered. Pulled her out of the tent for a closer inspection and here is what I found...

Quite happy now that she was droopy or I would never have thought to give her a check. (Still referring to it as her lol) Well, she can go to be made into butter and finally a nice cake :)

Plus a little more space in the tent for the remainders,

does that mean she hermied.....being an auto..i thought all autos were fem......if so will you keep it for seeds or has her//his life come to a short end?:)

I also had no idea they would do that. Although I know you can get regular auto flowering seeds. Very strange. As for why she went hermie, I have no clue. Out of the 4 survivors she always seemed the least happy, droopy leaves most of the time, but I don't think it could have suffered anything which would have caused her to hermie. No strange lighting or anything.

I put it down to unstable genetics, or a total random event.

As soon as I seen the balls, had a quick confer with Mrs Mono who confirmed, Butter. Chopped the whole plant up small. Placed on a baking tray in the oven on 'low'. Once dry crushed the leaves, stem and small amount of buds up. Will mix into butter this evening. The last batch we made from veg trim did the trick, super dooper high lol. So hope the plant will not go to waste.

I think you are right Jaga, on the male to female ratio. If one of the Afghani seeds are female I will be happy. Although kicking myself a little since I had been considering for a few days popping them anyway to fill up the space when the autos are harvested.

Guess I am never 100% pleased lol

Happy munch day to you too buddy! I'm a bit like you with the grow space, always thinking bigger, more. Never content with what I have lol. As for the auto, I've no idea what happened, but she should make some nice butter. :)

If you have a shed with well insulated walls and ceiling but not the floor off the ground, will the heat sensor camera pick that up? And the exhaust vent also?

I'm looking forward to see how your harvest turns out.

Good question.

Where I live I'm not too worried about heat sensing cameras, although your point is very good. I'm sure the hot air being blown out would create a strange plume of warm air. My plan for that was to have a compost bin, or bay right beside the shed and duct the hot air underneath. As we all know, composting generates a lot of heat. I was also thinking of venting into the chicken house (we have 5 Blackrock hens) but this may only be beneficial in the winter time.

Great point though, even more food for though :)

Some Mylar will block ir heat signature, so you might want to look into that if stealth is of concern. I grow in a garage, but they don't use flir where I live

Awesome! I'm not too sure they use I here either. Would be quite pointless considering how sparsely populated it is. Although, stealth is always good, I think good insulation is going to be the order of the day. Gets darn cold here in winter lol

I know how that goes. I've had my heater cranked in there for a couple months now. Gonna insulate it this spring and expand size. Can't be using that much money to heat such a small space

shame about the hermie mate,
Venting into the chicken coop will be very beneficial in the winter I'd imagine!
We had a lot of helicopter raids in south florida some 10 years back, and the way my uncle got around it, is he vented into his hot tub.
The pumps and what have you were in the front of the shed, then boxes and such to make a "layer of shit no one wants to wade through and his grow area was directly behind it. I know, not helpful if you don't have a spa, but where there's a will, there is a dedicated stoner.

Into the hot tub, wow. That is truly ingenious! Shame I don't have a hot tub :)
