Mini Green House Grow

Re: setting sun's mini-greenhouse grow

I only used naturally occurring CO2 in the air for my grow. I agree it worked well for me. I feel many grows lack a good ventilation scheme and suffer from that (CO2 enriched environs excepted). I paid for it in electricity usage, but running the air input fan and exhaust inline fan 24 / 7 was a major key in the success of my grow.

Re: setting sun's mini-greenhouse grow

Those buds are looking so nice a getting pretty fat. You are doing such a wonderful job and plants look very healthy and green. It seems you are doing everything correct so I am wondering why the co2 issues is such a big one on your thread. Would it really make that much of a difference, and since you pulling air from outside into the tent is that not enough. Just a question

I think DocBud introduced the topic and it's been a good discussion. Flowing a *lot* of fresh air through my tent has been working well for me, but CO2 works well for others.

thanks sonzor!

Strong flow-through ventilation works for me, but as the ambient temps drop in winter, I may have to adjust something so temps don't drop too low when lights are out.

I appreciate your feedback munki, because I think all that fresh air has been a key issue in this grow also.

keep it green brother!

Re: setting sun's mini-greenhouse grow

That might be my grow next year. This weather has turned to crap, it can kill a grow if you don't constantly monitor it. When I was fighting that mold, I would cut a big chunk of the bud off to get rid of it, and come back in a couple hours and it would be right back. Problem was it was so big, it wouldn't fit in my closet that I plan on using for a indoor this winter.

It got so big from vegging outside. If you want huge plants, outdoor veg is the way to go I think. I might have to clean out the storage room down stairs instead of that closet, hmm...

I saw the outdoor veg idea earlier and the same image you mentioned flashed in my head,Chumpstain. How would you get a two month old plant back in the house and under lights? My bushes are well over 5 feet tall and a yard around two months in.

When I lived in the deep South I'd start weed under lights and put it outside in March when the weather warmed up. Because the days were still short, the females would bud. You'd cut the males and let the females bud under strong sun for a couple of months before reverting to veg in the long days of May.

That worked like a charm and you had proven female plants in the ground. Give 'em a shot of ferts after taking the spring buds and those plants would be huge come fall.

LST?

I had LST'ed my plants because they were beginning to outgrow my little outdoor greenhouse, and that kept them short enough to bring indoors.

You don't see too many people using the LST technique outdoors, but this would be one circumstance where it would shine.

Hey Sun:goodjob:
Looks like your doing your usual fine job. I expected nothing else:ganjamon:
I know you'll deny it, but you are slowly becoming a master.

Hate to change the subject on you.......however......
Are you going to a full journal when you test the LED?

As always, Great Job Brother:grinjoint:

Re: setting sun's mini-greenhouse grow

hey SS just wanted to ask if you have ever seen a eye clops I love that thing for checkig my trichs 400X maginfication crazy man

I have one!

I posted about it in my first journal.

It's great for checking trichs!

I've been using my camera with a macro lens for trich checks on this grow, but I may break out the eye clops also.

I got mine at Toys R Us, lol.

I'm glad you like yours bro, it's a great grow tool, even though it looks like an a**d trip gone bad, lol.

I won't deny the slow part ;).

Yes, it will be a full journal, comparing lights from Haight Solid State and Hydro Grow LED.

As always, Great Job Brother:grinjoint:

thank you bro, I appreciate your positive energy!

I think LST indoors would work good as well. I don't know why more people don't. But I think it's more then just a size thing, I think it allows more of the plant to get good light. Which is what gives you the good yeild. I don't know, I'm baked:bongrip:

It'll work anywhere you need to keep a plant short and bushy, indoors or out.

Baked or not, I also suspect that more leaf area with LST is a factor as far as higher yield;).

take care chumpster, and thanks ;)

That's a great idea Setting Sun.

You know I've done topping and stake down for years, but I've always done it laterally. I never thought about curving the main stem around to limit the spread and width and height? You could really do some things with LST outside in a small clearing or in the brush.

On this grow that's all I did, bend them laterally, and got the desired results, but training the main stem around the perimeter of the pot starting early in veg, really keeps them short and lotsa bud sites.

Could be very stealthy outdoors, but you'd have to make pretty regular visits to do the training.

thanks Firestone!

i really wanted to do the "curve around the pot" thing in my grow but once i got it into a bucket, it wouldve made getting INTO the bucket a real issue...

i tied in a couple spots at once on a few occasions but it was always a pain to undo like almost all of em jus to check ph.... but then again if you have a Snazzy ph checker itd totally eliminate that issue ;).. or soil haha, like i have in previous grows, i got that lst thang down !

but since im only really tying one MAIN part down, im going to screen the rest to bush it out... (yes munk-inspired lol)

Re: setting sun's mini-greenhouse grow

I cannot wait for this!

I can't wait either, but these ladies won't be rushed ;).

As i don't suspect you could pull off a rouse like planting yourself here months ago, establishing sick rep, and growing inspirationally, all to only one day do a promo because you work for the company - I doubt it.

diabolical, but unlikely ;)

I hate shills.

If someone's gonna product test, I want it to be you.

thanks andy

Garden's lookin' GOOD.:yummy:

thanks again bro

Aww shucks! :battingeyelashes: :cheesygrinsmiley:

Re: setting sun's mini-greenhouse grow

I tried to go all the way around the pot, but it only made it half way. Which worked out well, cause a little of the soil was exposed so I could water it.

You did a great job with that plant.

I haven't tried to do the full-on roundy-round yet, but I'm gonna have fun with it down the road ;).

Tunes420 recently posted a pic of a plant he held down to 8"!

Anyone who thinks they don't have enough vertical space to grow should rethink things.

take care ms. Chump, and have the greenest of days ;).
