Mechanic's Log: WW, AK-47, FFof Soil, Screw-In LEDs

Perkin up... day #7 after transplant. All the new growth is a good green, the leaves are lookin up, not totally praying yet, but looking much happier than a week ago.

They’ve been under 12 bulbs pretty much all day. I’ll leave it that way tonight and start upping the wattage slowly in a few days. Or maybe I’ll just lower the bulbs a few inches... I have pretty good coverage right now. (Bulb wise)

And here’s some evening pics with individual plant shots.
(5 this time, I forgot a plant last time I did this, haha.)

WW#1- Round 2 Day #8.

Hello everybody... I have few morning close ups showing these babies still working thru some deficiencies after being in solo cups for months. A lot of the leaves are greening up tho and all of the new growth looks heathy. Things are going to pick up real soon.

These pics were taken right after the lights came on at 8am.

And these pics were taken a few minutes ago.

Highya Mechanic,

The new growth is looking fine. Looks like to me things are already picking up. Thereby, they'll pick up more as the roots grow. They'll be big fat ladies at harvest time! Cheers

Thank you @Bode

I think I’m going to try something different this round that’s slightly against my normal style. Still using 5 gallon pots but I’m going to up the plant count slightly and try to make things more perpetual, eventually adding more strains to the mix. I love WW but I know I’ll want more variety in the future.

This last rounds harvest will keep me going for awhile if anything goes wrong this time or the yield suffers I have a good buffer.

Hopefully I can flip these ladies in 2 weeks.

Hello community...

The girls are looking happy under their lights...

Temp at 77f and humidity at 49%.

I’ve been running 14 bulbs most of the day and now they are 13” inches above the canopy since these babies grew slightly and I moved the lights down an inch.

I move too fast sometimes but the ladies do not seem to mind now that they finally have a foothold on their nutrient supply.

Here are some evening pics.. and strangely a couple of them look pretty good. I have a few “measurement” pics also.

For some reason, they look much better this time. You must've trimmed off the discolored fan leaves. Your lights are 14 inches from your canopy. I don't think that's a problem as long as they don't put out too much heat. I don't know anything about the screw-in leds. On a good note, they're on their way healthy and happy! Cheers

Thanks for noticing. Haha.

They did get a little trim the same night I watered last. I trimmed a lot of the lower growth and fan leaves off. I left a lot of the light green and dying leaves tho. Some of them are recovering and some will continue to die off.

And that’s what I love about these led, they don’t put out a bunch of heat. You can have these bulbs an inch away without burning or bleaching. (As long as you have the high chip count LEDs... the bulbs with fewer chips need to further away or they will burn and bleach)

Thank you again.

WW#1- Round 2 Day #9

Just a quick update. Tent temp at 77f and humidity 39%.

Babies need water soon. They surprised me, I thought they would go another day before a watering. They took 6 days to dry out last time and now just 3 this time. One more dry cycle and I think I will up pot to the 5 gallon pots. 5 days after that it’s flip time. Then clone time.:cheesygrinsmiley:

Today’s pics...

Here’s what I’m watering with tonight... cal mag and the seaweed plant food are going to mix together till I need to water. (Later tonight) I will add the liquid karma and let it mix 5 minutes before I soak the ladies.

The last pic is the trippiest one I found out of a bunch of pics I took. (What do you see.?)
This air pump kicks... butt.

....EDIT....

In 2 gallons of water I added 10ml of CaMg+ and 15ml of seaweed plant food. I will add 10ml of liquid karma a few minutes before I water the girls tonight.

I see an alligator eating a polar bear while being chased by a hippo as an eagle swoops in and an owl looks on.

In the one before I see a white-bearded and browed god looking down on us.

I may need a magazine rack (for my issues).

I see 5 ladies well on their way. They look much better. I always did the clones during the trim before the stretch. Always a guess as to when to flip the light schedule. Cheers

Haha I think a lot of us could use a magazine rack or two, myself included.

In the last pic I see Darth Vader pointing and I also see a heart. Haha.

If I see some good potential clones I’ll take em before I flip. It makes the most sense doing before flower. Right now I have a shortage of good candidates. Haha.

This time it’s an easy decision when to flip. I’m just waiting for roots then flip time. Haha. I’m not worried about completely filling in my space this time because I finally have a place for a mom and clones, so I will be able to keep my bigger tent flowering non stop and make this grow perpetual.

WW#1- Round 2 Day #11

Hello community...

I didn’t get to post yesterday so I have a little update and a few pics from last night.

The girls may be experiencing the start of a nitrogen toxicity. The big fan leafs started to claw down first and by last night the top leaves started to do it. It’s not that bad yet but if I continue to give anything containing nitrogen it will probably get worse.

I went back a few days worth of pics and It looks like it started after the first watering in which they were fed Age Old grow plus the usual cal mag and liquid karma. I was trying to get the girls back on track a little too fast and I think the combination of new soil, the nutrients and letting the pot dry out with said nutrients within was just a little too much. I should have known the new soil would take care of these babies. Calmag and liquid karma would have been fine

I assume it’s a nitrogen toxicity anyway so I’m going to use plain water next time I soak em. No flush needed hopefully.

Here’s some pics.

What's your water cycle like?

What's your water cycle like?

I’m not sure exactly what you mean..

Feed, feed, feed, then plain water.? That’s what I plan to do this time anyway. I don’t follow a chart or anything.

Last round I never flushed or used plain water, I would simply mix nutrients at a lower strength every so often or I would use just one nutrient at a time when I thought the girls were happy.

Till the last 2 waterings before harvest which were plain water.

WW#1- Round 2 Day #12

Hello everybody...

The Widows do not look any better than they did the night before last. I messed up, these ladies were doing so well and I set them back at least a week probably.

I watered 3 of the driest ladies to a good amount of run off and I will water the other 2 when I get home today.

Well I have more pics from last night, they look so sad. It’s depressing. Haha. But on a good note I will have the final dry weights of WW#1 and #3 and the total yield out of my 264 watt tent later today.

Anyway... pics.

WW#1- Round 2 Day #13

Edited post......

Ladies are still looking sad. Idk if I should transplant tomorrow or not. Maybe I should give them a good flush before I put them in a new batch of soil. Idk...

Here’s some pics.

They don’t look happy bro! :nervous-guy:

Nope... not at all.:lot-o-toke:

Have you been reading.? Haha. I’m not sure exactly what’s going on now. Idk if it’s too much nitrogen like I mentioned in an earlier post or maybe they are rootbound already and pissed, not enough mag, maybe the ph is off or overwatering.?

It looks like it could be a few things. Haha. I’m not monitoring ph levels, so guess I should be. And I thought I let the ladies dry out enough each cycle, but maybe I didn’t. Or maybe they really are root bound. Hmm.

I’m letting them dry out completely this time, and I’ll be watering with some epsom salt (finally picked it up) and liquid karma. I’ll look at the roots and decide if I should pot up. I’m thinking it’s time. If these things continue to go south I’ll just take a bunch of clones, get rid of the “old ladies” and hope the clones do well. I may pop a couple WW seeds tonight just Incase also.
