McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

Good morning Mcloadie, glad you're back. In spite of your problems the girls look like they will make you happy with yield. :thumb:
Is foxtailing a bad thing? A couple of my pineapples are doing that and one looks like a little medusa wanna-be- going all different directions. Will this cut yield?
Hope you have a great day!

Hi FC, in my experience, the plants that foxtail yield well, they end up being solid bud....I'll get some pics as soon as the ones I'm watching go into full flower..........1 northern lights x bug bud is around 20 inches tall....the colas will be as big as my leg, they are as bidg as my arm now, covered with trichs.....but those are really just leaves...the buds haven't started forming yet. In this case it's the result of taking a plant from 24 hrs light and putting it outside...I don't know if it's goin to get much taller...I need to get em tied up pretty soon before they break branches when it rains. I don't think foxtailing is a bad thing...it produces huge colas!

Very nice Mr. Mcloadie :goodjob:

You put a lot of effort into this grow. Now go and snip off a bud to test and congratulate yourself. :circle-of-love: :circle-of-love: :cheertwo:

Haha, that's funny you say that skunky my friend, because just a while ago I was walking by my next victim and my scissors slipped and I cut off a branch a little bigger than small. I took it and washed it off under the faucet, took it back in next to the victim to see the difference. It did clean it a little, but IDK if it made the color brighter. I trimmed the bud and it's in the prospective drying area to see how it reacts. It smelled fruity.......and the victim was afghan kush.

Good Skunkday Mc and young Miss Loadie:):circle-of-love:

62% humidity is the perfect storage mark so it should make for a slow dry.
doesn't matter untill you do chop anyway:)

I am so stumped by this grow, it just didn't grow like it usually does. I have pretty high temps....and rH, but it never hurt before I even had meters to know the difference. I have some ideas what happened, I used the sns 604a during veg, which is a root stimulant, i'm wondering if the roots grew to the outside of the pots in such quantity that with the air pruning it's giving a negative affect. I was taught that we always try to avoid air pruning, with these smart pots there's no way to avoid it. I like the idea of nursery pots, even if the roots do fill the pot they wouldn't necessarily be dying all the time like they do in my smart pots. With the smart pots I can't water the perimeter of the pots like I am trained, if I do the water runs out the fabric.

Mind if I chime in for a sec Mcliadie.

I wont comment on the color, but I have used 5 gl HD buckets for a few grows, they do seem to stay a bit to moist for me.

The next time I use them, I am going to try adding a cheap dollar store colander in the bottom. Just cut off the handles and it fits perfect,

That way you got a lot of air flow under the dirt. And good drainage.
