Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Well I have emailed Sara 2xs, still no answer and still no shipping info, tomorrow will be a week since my order was made, I am a little disappointed as I am used to much better customer service, most any time recieving shipping info within 1, 2 business days at most. My tent did get stuck in transit, buts that's FedEx and the extreme weather conditions causing the delay, I have also recieved emails from the seller without ever emailing them and had my shipping info the early morning hours of the first business day. This does suck a bit lol as I have ladies going who I'm dying to put in my new setup!

I feel ya Alex but seeing as of it is their New Year until the 7th it is understood. I am anxious to get my tent and new light also and have girls I'm having to bend over almost daily to keep them under the lights but Sara will be in touch I am sure and dong the best she can. She was on here the other night and said she would be checking her emails so just give her a little time to enjoy her holiday as I'm sure you would have wanted the same during your New Year.............:circle-of-love:

I do understand its their new year but that should in no way delay shipments on orders in the USA and if it were to it should be posted on the website prior to ordering, but instead it simply states "stock in US" it's misleading and disappointing but we shall see... I guess I can't say I would have ordered else where since I'm on a budget and there is no other budget led with a thread on any forum like this, but still it is disappointing and quite poor custom service, had I ordered and not been a member here I would be very upset wondering what's going on and with no reply to my emails either.
 
With that said I have ordered many many items from many different sites and ebay sellers, lights, fans, filters, nutrients, medium, etc $1000s of dollars and many different sellers and never had I waited this long for shipment and email reply, so this is just not what I am used to. It has never even taken a week to get shipping info on seeds coming from overseas!
 
I just hope this wait is worth it and of course hoping the wait is near over, fingers crossed.. I was gonna order the kind led 300 for just over $500 for a 3x3 tent but for $350 I have 2 96x3w leds in my cart at topled but will not be checking out till I know they are in stock and my current order is fulfilled with satisfaction. It's tax time and I am putting bit over $1000 into equipment and seeds, I am excited and the led lights are a major purchase for me, I have been trying to sell off my 2 1000w systems and will end up letting em go for $175 since they are no use to me n I finally have a buyer.. wish I had put my $ on leds long ago rather than the hps/mh! What y'all think of 2 96x3w lights for a 3x3x6 tent? I also thought about 2 mars II 400w but the power draw is the same as the 96x3w lights so was gonna pick those instead... Any input? Def want more light than I need, the marsII 400 covers 3x3 and the 96x3w covers 4.4x2.2 so a pair of either will more than do.

From the last email I got from Alva(Sara's Partner) Their order to restock the US with everything was supposed to hit shore on Jan 27th. She also said that it would take until Feb 4th or 5th to clear Customs. Any order placed before their last day in the office(Jan 24th) will be shipped. Any order placed after the 24th will be waiting to be processed until the end of their vacation if they are even accepting orders....
 
Well didnt recieve an email but checked the site and it updated today, my order was shipped the 28th and will arrive Tuesday, my tent is still stuck in GA with no update as to when it will show, damn weather.

For what it's worth, I've been growing LED for the better part of 2 years now and have amassed quite a bit of knowledge on the topic. I have a Canadian competitor's light that Sara's company used to/still does (idk) make from my understanding...it's 357 watts... and the results have been nothing short of amazing. The thing about LED is that if you know what you're doing, you can yeild 1g/1w. With HID you're lucky to pull .5g/1w. My setup consists of of an improved upon version of the StinkBud method with a 12 site cloner, 12 site veg with moms in DWC 3 gals. I made my cloner and veg unit out of coolers and my flower units out of larger 5" vinyl fence posts with a raised sprayer line so the roots don't grow over and clog them. I also have completely sealed systems so no light gets directly into my res bins. All in all, over $1500 in hydro sites, self-engineered for less than $500! The veg is in a SG 5'x5' tent and flower is in a SG 5'x10'. I'll be moving the 357 into the veg tent and putting a Mars II 1200 over each flower site. All with Botanicare's Kind line along with all their addy's n benny's. If you look up their expert feed program, that's what I'm doing. I'm debating a journal, but I will def keep in line with due diligence and post feedback, results, reviews, pics, blogs, videos etc blah blah yadda yadda whateverIAlreadyKnowThey'reGonnaDoGreat...the end.

how many flowering sites are you putting in the 5x10? do you do a rolling perpetual grow or do you run one batch at a time? do you adjust light height to plant height or have them grow up to lights that stay at a fixed height? sounds like a well thought out system, even better that it's self made. love to see the pics

Yes, I grew scrog style on a large scale for over a year, when you flip to 12/12 all the tops are at screen level but by the time they are done stretching you still have 12 inches or more depending on the strain above the screen. With a scrog the branches are very close together so penetration is key to getting light through all that foilage to the lower bud sites, without it your yield will suffer or you will have alot of hash material :)
