Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

cheers for the tip ... I think it must also depend on the LED's in the panel. my mate has 3 watt leds, but the penetration is amazing, sold nugs all the way down the plant. better than HPS...

Yep for sure, but really its about penetration and how much of the plant you can keep in the 100% par value. That is how you get weight with an LED is by keep the whole plant in that "zone" and watch as the lowers that you would normally clean off with hps get big and dense.

oh yes them lower ones do get rather fat.. and the density of the nugs is amazing better than i have seen on hps,.. im going to go with a couple of 700s budget... maybe add a 1200 later in the middle later one... i have seen 140 grams dry yield for 180w drew panel...mates first attempt, so I know that LED's rock..

thank you Curso, yes for tall plants can ad some reflector or UFO light under the plants or side the planst.
Depends on how you grow them. I learned that short wide plants work better with the LED. Tall plants dont have as much of the plant in the 100% par value, short wide plants you can do that.

led much less heat than HPS we testing in factory on the face only 35degree,in the grow room depends on environment there
Any rough estimations on how many btu 's of heat the Mars 2 1200 puts off?

:goodjob:
the 240 x 5w Mars II have an actual draw of 520w give or take not 1200 and Ive had alot of time to play around with heights I switched to led over 3 years ago, I actually have 2 of them that close and 2 more 320 x 3w Area 51 panels that close too. Epistar diodes arent the brightest out there, my 3w Helexion diodes are just as bright with just as good penetration as the 5w epistars, but I paid 1500 bucks a pop for those. 24 - 28 inches is perfect for the mars II trust me :)

Yes run as 220v between 110v there will be 3% difference. so do not worry there not two much. just the amps much differnce such as 1200w item 110v:5.43amp 220v:2.69amp. hope this info will help you.
Question for you testers - Any one check the power draw at 220v? Thinking of getting an up-converter if the difference is substantial enough.

we have note on the coupons when you decided buy please email me, i will cut it for you. but the 400w item out of stock these days ship arrived USA port waiting for custom release. we think that can get ready on 7th ~10th Feb.
Whew wee my tent showed up today, got her set up, light here on Tuesday, if all goes well will have decided to order one 96x3w and a marsII 400 to go in a DRII90 tent, a 36x36" area.. I wanna check out both lights :).. So do we get 20$-40$ off when we order? That s topic of the thread, and if we do wonder if we can use the coupons that comes with each light order along with the 420mag discount, if so may just order 3 lights for that price!

Watts=Amps X volts and the power company charges by watts. So if they draw less wattage at lower amp value(meaning higher volt value) then yes you would save money, but the output of your light will be less too.

Wattage= output of light=cost from electric company. So if you lower your bill you are getting less light too. Assuming efficiency the same.

Where you may have some gain is in that efficiency, as Resistance is proportional to amp draw, so you probably have slightly less resistance with higher voltage cause less amp draw.

I also plan on making another purchase very soon, one marsII 400 and 1 maybe 2 reflector 96x3w, I know I will recieve coupons with my current order but is there also a discount for 420mag memebers?
