Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

CatFish did you try setting one light and then removing the receiver, will it stay set and running with the receiver removed? If so screw the receiver in the next light and set it and remove the receiver again, do the same to the third light and remove the receiver. If you want to alter a light screw the receiver in and set it and forget it, would this maybe work?

Hey Neil,
While if they have a programable on off set to a timer in their program this should work, but you would not be able to use the remote for them so long as the receive was not connected. The best case would be for Mars to install a simple set of dip switches into their receives and remotes. If you want to control all 50 set them all to the same pattern on the dip switches, if you want 2 sets of 25, easy to do, 5 sets of 10? again easy to do. 50 completely different settings? well that would require at least 6 dip switches, which would allow you to separately control up to 64 separate lights.

There you go Sara,
Suggest that to the powers to be as a cheap easy fix to make the product not only better but have more flexibility for your customers.

Did send a email from the MH site.

The least you would expect is that the support team actually read the clients messages and
respond to the questions clients have about there order or about the products they sell.

Led in my communications with them it usually took the next 24hr time period to get a response, ask today and get a response tomorrow because of the time difference.

Ok thanks Sara. That is what Ruby told me too. I even marked my Remotes and led units #1 to #3 so I would know which remote went with what unit... Which means MarsPro will lose a lot of sales due to that... Growers want to be able to contol their individual lights easily not a work around with removing the receiver. Still bummed that we can't control them individually..

I knew this remote stuff would be a big snag. all on the same freq ! and sensors in the remote LoL Thats just goofy
I'll wait for Pro model II

The problem is not the time difference.....did send a support message and did recieve a response that makes no sense to me.

Read my post again.

Did order 2 mars 2 700w lights more that a week ago.
Recieved the tracking number for my package 5 days ago.

When i try to see where my package is on the dhl site,
i get this message:

(Not found): No result found for your DHL query. Please try again.

So i contacted support from the mars-hydro site to ask them to look into my order
and also check the tracking number they provided me.
I also mentioned that if i don't recieve the lights that i would like that they send me my money back.

And to contact me with any updates as soon as possible.

below is a copy of the message i recieved back from MH support just a few min. ago:

here is our return policy if you don't want the lights. Please check here Return Policy | Mars Hydro
As long as your lights meet the conditions, we will refund you the money.

What is wrong with this message???

No response to my question about checking my order or tracking details.

And..... for me to see my money back, i have to first send the lights back to them???
How can i send the lights back if i did not recieved them in the first place???

Led in my communications with them it usually took the next 24hr time period to get a response, ask today and get a response tomorrow because of the time difference.

YAY! Dipswitch! :)

A simple receiver on/off switch on the light would do the same as unscrewing the receiver. I have not personally seen the light, but I can tell you that if threading is involved, some human is going to cross thread it eventually and mess something up. DIP switches would really screw some people up. Give the masses a simple on/off switch and they can't really screw it up. Turn the receiver(s) on for the light(s) you want to control. Off when they don't need to be controlled.

No offense to anyone, but some of us are more mechanically, electronically and mathematically apt than others. In general the KISS principal should apply to mass market items for those who are not as up on tech as others.

Just my two cents.

Maybe I can be of assistance at least in explaining what happened when I had a similar experience.
The warehouse said that my package had been sent and gave me a tracking number.
Which said that they had received notification of a pick up, but no actual pick up had been made..
As soon as I figured it out I contacted my salesperson, Lucy who immediately had a new package sent out.
Not sure who lost the original package, the warehouse or the shipper, but I do know Lucy corrected the matter as soon as she was made aware of it.

If you had an original sales girl contact her or contact Lucy forum@mars-hydro.com I'm sure she would help you.

What could be more simple than a series of four on-off DIP switches that when set upon un-boxing, never need to be touched again?
I agree the simpler the better.

I agree Dip switches are simple easy way to fix the problem. I installed 12 led fans in a house all had the same remotes. The fan it self 1-4 up or down dip switches, and the remote 1-4 up or down dip switches. All you do is match the up and down with the fan and the remote and they are paired.

Agreed, if the lights are still as Colorado growers video shows the brain is in the remote, like a phone as he explains.I am without a doubt the most electronically challenged on this site I still have a VCR I can't figure out how to use and an 8-track player I can't turn on.

:circle-of-love: Hi CatfishKnight, yes it works like this... one remote controller will control several lights together, so growers will risk to mix the controllers. :Namaste: In your case, if you want to control them seperately, you can have a try by unscrewing the signal receiver on the back of the lamp after adjusting one light and then setting up the next one. :high-five:

Do they keep the settings if they are unplugged?

Can you just unplug the lights that you don't want to program. And then program one or two. And then unplug those and if the settings are kept then you can program individually pretty easily.

What exactly does it say here? It says LED light. I have LED lights all over my house. In my kitchen, in the spot lights over my fireplace my outdoor spots hell even my flash lights are led. Led it a type of bulb. Should I be concerned that I have a case of CFL bulbs delivered from Home Depot? It has to have a marking on the box to get through customs. If it said GROW LIGHT then you have a real concern. Just my 2 cents. :peace:

I kind of agree, i dont want to down play anyones concerns and i think i may have been one of the ppl that told him it would show without any markings i just dont think ppl can read too much into LED light as my remote, laptop, headlights, tv, xbox and toothbrush all have LEDs in them lol but like i say if they are upset by it maybe mars hydro can do something to make it more discreet :peace:

I understand the use of LED's are everywhere, but for you to receive lets say (5) of the 144*5 reflector series light, you can rule out it being a LED toothbrush, if you get what I mean. I know it doesn't exactly say "LED grow light purchased from Mars Hyrdo with more than likely the intentions of using this device to grow or cultivate MJ" but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out either. I mean, when we look at the label, we would get a general idea of what's in there, so why wouldn't some bored investigator who may have been bored and decided to look at random boxes at the mail hub get a general idea of what's in the boxes?

YAY! Dipswitch! :)

""Who Are You calling a Dipswitch?, Gnarl E Green!!!""

Lol. Just had to say that...

I know you were talking about the switches on the Remote... :)
