Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

thank you for the understanding, Heirloom. We are working on it. I will let you know the result.
Thank you all....

For two weeks I've simmered on this, had time to cool off and not totally go off the deep end here. I had almost decided to let it go but thought of all the other members who it could affect. Then remembered that this was a recurring issue.

I really don't like calling people or sponsors out. Causing a ruckus isn't my style. But security is the most important thing for all of us....so....sorry MH, but you need to get it together.

If I were CEO, CFO or COO of Mars-Hydro I would halt shipments immediately and figure out a fast solution for the stock and orders on hand, then fix the problem where ever it starts and adjust operations down stream. Then I would personally post an apology to the community as well as the changes made, with pictures if possible.

I'm not asking for anything for myself. No refunds, no apology to me. Just fix it and prove it to the community.

How far do you keep your Mars LED lights from your plants during flower stage? I have the older 300w and 2.3x2.3x5.3 grow space. Both plants are currently close to two feet in 3 gallon pots. The light sits 18-19 inches above the plants with 2-4 more inches to raise the LED to the top. What do you recommend?

It says LED light not grow.

Depending on where you live it can be a VERY large problem. If you live in a more relaxed state good for you, but if you live in a f*ed up red state it could be a huge problem and just because you don't experience or understand the problem doesn't make it any less real or dangerous for those of us who do.

Other growers here as well as Sara have told me 12-18" is the optimal height in flower. This is for the newer MarsII, which are brighter than the older 3W units, so you can probably lean towards the lower end of that range I would think.

MarsPro responded to my remote controller problem that one remote controls all 3 units. They said that is normal. 1 remote controls them all. No individual control per remote and each Led Units. I was thinking of using one for clones. Bummer. MarsPro will probably lose a lot of sales once everyone hears about it. :( Which means I can't buy another one of the same unit for my Mother Plant Closet.
Do the remotes and light receivers have DIP switches that can configure the codes or are you saying they are all on the same frequency and all lights have to be set the same? you build a warehouse , order 50 lights and they all have to operate on the same set up?

I'm currently sporting the Mars 300W LED 60*5WLEDs discounted version from eBay.

This is the reason we only bought one of the new lights , think we will wait for version 2 :) before purchasing more .

I really think these new lights are more powerful than the Mars II and cover more area than they think they do , if they would just fix these remote issue :scratchinghead:

:circle-of-love: Hi CatfishKnight, yes it works like this... one remote controller will control several lights together, so growers will risk to mix the controllers. :Namaste: In your case, if you want to control them seperately, you can have a try by unscrewing the signal receiver on the back of the lamp after adjusting one light and then setting up the next one. :high-five:
BUMMER... Plugged in all (3) MarsPro Cree128 Led Lights... Guess what? One remote controls all of the lights at the same time... I would think that would not happen. Maybe I need one for seedlings or clones.

:thumb: this is a good idea. This option will be more user-friendly. I have forwarded the advice to the production department.:circle-of-love:
I wonder if they have a setting to allow multiple remotes to be used, when my kids were younger they all had remote control cars and helicoptors and all controlled theirs separately.

:circle-of-love: thank you, Cannafan. We will handle with it.:high-five:
HI noobiegrow, :)

Try to give the MH people time to read the concerns and take action before making your decision.
Making them aware of the concern is the first step in resolving it.
They do have a great product.

:circle-of-love:

:thanks:yes, we are negotiating with the warehouse now and I will keep you guys informed.:Namaste:
I think they will react quickly once Sara sees this. They have made steps to remove the big logo and probably just didn't realize that the remaining stuff on the label was an issue. Now that they will know I am sure it will change. They are smart enough to be a sponsor here and will want to keep everyone happy. The issue resolutions I have seen from them have been examples of great customer service.

:thumb: thanks for all these advices, flyboy. Users are the best designer. We are trying to take all into consideration which turns out not enough.:cheesygrinsmiley: Your advices are very good. :thanks:
I will have to wait until 5 when everything turns on :) for video .

That's how I have mine set , sunrise and sunset, comes on with 1% blue/white for 10 minutes, then blue/white goes up a little and some red comes on little by little for the next hour then full brightness for 10 hours, goes the other way for sunset and ends with no blue/white , only red . All this is set to program/memory 0 and then push send , I found that you can change the settings for every 10 minutes is the lowest it would go and that I found no difference between 1% and 10% , the brightness seemed to change only at 10% settings, I'll check again . Hope this helps you :)

I wish it could be set for as low as a second to come on and that 1% was really that , would be cool to simulate moonlight/phase and maybe a lightning storm , just thinking out loud here , wow with your 3 it would be cool to simulate a storm with lightning that could flash around the room and your sunrise could start on one side , gradually turn each one on for a daytime and then fade out to the last light for sunset.

We wanted to buy 2 more of these pro 320 , but after having this one , I can see the changes that need made and once those are in place I hope to buy more . I can say they emit a better mixed spectrum and the buds are bigger under the light received from it . If it's not cooled somehow it will get hot , needs 2 more fans in the middle of the unit , I have cold air from outside blowing down into the vents of all my lights , makes them run about 20 degrees cooler , or cool to the touch all around , which equals longer life .

:cheertwo: great start, Brian:cheesygrinsmiley: curious to know what kind of experiments in your head:yahoo:
i have my panel set for veg right now with the red set at 15% and Blue/white set at 35% for the first hour to wake them up then go to 25% red 75% Blue/white for 16 hours with the last hour at 15% red 35% blue/white to put them back to sleep. i love the ability to change every 10 mins as it will lead to some awesome experiments in the future :circle-of-love:

Haha, gudyul, I will take it as a promise. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Does the pro Epistar work without the remote , any manual on/ off switch. THat was the big plus for the #2 series, remember. Don't really need two on /off switches either . Maybe just an auto sunrise n sunset built in. KISS :kisstwo::kisstwo:

I would buy a pallet of these lights except for the funky remote thingee..

:party:beautiful, serenity, why I am thinking that mermaid will jump from the pot... :dreamy:
Ok I hooked up my (3)MarsPro Cree128 lights.
Guess what?
After about 3 hours they only raised the temperature in my sealed off Grow Room 7 degrees. Temp is setting at 86 degrees.
Not bad at all...

:cheesygrinsmiley: brilliant ideas have always derived from tense nerve.:laughtwo: So far you guys have come up with many good ideas to help us solve the issue. Thank you very much.:thanks:
Maybe a very simple description on the box and visible customs info, like "Home Lamp" would ease the concern? Nothing suspicious about home lighting. :-)
