Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

MarsPro responded to my remote controller problem that one remote controls all 3 units. They said that is normal. 1 remote controls them all. No individual control per remote and each Led Units. I was thinking of using one for clones. Bummer. MarsPro will probably lose a lot of sales once everyone hears about it. :( Which means I can't buy another one of the same unit for my Mother Plant Closet.

:circle-of-love: Hi Demon, I am sorry about this. Could you send me an email in regards to this problem? If you haven't solved it, we have repair service centers where you can send the lights. We will try best to help you.:Namaste:
I have 6 Mar II 1200 they work great for growing the only problem is they don't last all 6 of mine have 10 to 16 burned bulbs. the guarantee suck they send you parts say its easy to repair not the case. send you video to watch how to fix can not even understand because audio is so bad. I would never buy again. Cheap price cheap light. BTW i have been growing with Leds for 7 years now and have had better luck with hydroponic hut pg550 had these lights for 6 years and still using them to this day and much better warranty service Mars Hydro warranty service sucks.

:circle-of-love: thanks, flyboy. The leds sometimes run about 20 hours one day. Led diodes are also easy to get burnt. You can ask for parts from us. Everytime, we will send more to our customers for back-up.:cheesygrinsmiley:
I have 5 1200w models , 4 that are a couple years old , 2 of those 4 have burned out LEDs and the reds are different. Just last night 2 more diodes burned out . It does happen , I don't even ask for parts , just do it myself, I bought cheap lights a while back and use them for parts , when enough LEDs burn out I just open them up and put new ones in .

:thumb: I am looking forward to the Mars Cree by KingSativa.:yahoo:
I don't know if any of mine are burned out yet. A few look dim, but I think they are the IR LEDs as they are symmetrically positioned from each other. But I would not put Epistar LEDs back in at any rate. If a power supply died I would ask that it be warrenteed, but I am replacing any burned out LEDs with Cree XP-E2 top bin LED. I have 20 of them that arrived in the mail today, 5 blue, 5 warm white, 5 630nm red, and 5 670nm red. I will pull down one of the old units here in the next few weeks and swap out these for 20 Epistars on one of the panels. Hopefully all goes well and I add some efficiently and some more light. :).

It is not cheap though. The reds are about $2.75 each and the blues are about $1.75. So swapping out 80 LED gets expensive quick.

It will be ok, purple, but more attention is also required.:high-five:
is 36 inches distance from my Mars 2 900 light to the soil in my solo cups a good distance for seedlings just breaking the surface? I am wondering if it may be a bit too far but i don't want to burn them

:party::party: there they are!:cheertwo::cheertwo:

:circle-of-love: Hi gudlief, for any problems, you can send it to my email info@mars-hydro.com :Namaste:
Only 47 more posts and you can pm Sweet Sara HHeeee hheeee hheee.

Seems like we are getting a lot of trolls . I have it on good authority that MH weed RULES!

:thanks: thank you, Kriaze for thest words. As I said before, we are not perfect but we will try to do better.:high-five:
Then maybe you shouldn't dismiss the feedback of those 'trolls' that although they may not post much have been members of the magazine for quite awhile, especially when they have other people that are reporting the same thing backing their experience with their tales too.

Don't kid yourself, these lights work great, as a budget light. You should expect and probably will encounter problems, most of which either you or your clients will need to repair yourselves, you may want to explain this to your clients before they purchase as they shouldn't in all seriousness be expecting them to run flawlessly and have great support for the price they pay. You may want to take a look at my Plushberry journal if you want to see the parts that you will be sent, I hope you and your customers have a steady hand.

To be fair though Mars Hydro continuously strives to improve and they are trying to open more repair centres around the world, but be reasonable about your expectations. I'm not bashing them either, I use 5 of their lights myself, but I also consider myself unbiased and fair.

I hope I have enough posts so that you don't go all giggledysquit thinking I'm a troll too. Peace.

:circle-of-love:hi flexy, pm replied. They are 5W Epistar. We can send you the replacement parts under warranty.:Namaste:
I noticed one of my "white" LEDs in my 300W (60x5W) burnt out. No big deal but I want to replace it anyway.
I am looking on ebay, is 5W Epistar *warm white* the correct one?

I am also wondering whether there is a way to get a set of replacement LEDs just in case I'd need more in the future. So I don't need to buy from ebay every time. Do you guys sell a small bag with 430~440nm, 450~475nm, 620~630nm, 650~670nm, White, maybe 2 LEDs each and how much it would cost? (Shipping to Spain) Thanks :)

Haha, wish you happy birthday in advance! :cheertwo::cheertwo: Haha, I wish I haven't grown up.:slide:
I suffer from chronic unfunniness. Every time I think I'm saying something that is humorous, everybody tells me I'm an idiot. Sad thing is I'm celebrating my 40th in a few months and my wife tells me that she has no hope for me to ever grow up.

:cheertwo:good job! Plants all look healthy!:hugs:

Hi Heirloom, I am so sorry about this. I have informed my director and shipping colleague of this emergency. As the stock increases, we have worked with two warehouses in California. One of them which we have worked with for a long time will ship the light discreetly with plain box. It seems that this one doesn't work the same. Sorry about this. The shipping colleague has negotiated with the warehouse staff. I will keep you informed of the latest news. Sorry...
OK, I've used the 400 for two weeks now.

I like the light. Same as everyone else I am getting nice tight node spacing. Plants seem to love it.

Heat certainly is not an issue, not the way other lights are at least. I try to maintain 30 degrees C (86f), but the light (with one switch on) does not put off enough heat to raise the temp in the tent that high....even with all vents and ports closed. I ended up adding 2 CFL's controlled by a hydrofarm heat mat controller. Set it at 30C and it heats the tent with more light then shuts off when it hits 30, on at 28.

I like the light.

What I don't like is feeling like I was fed a line of BS so that Mars Hydro got another sale.

I asked specifically, Sara, here and in private messages about the security of the boxes. Are they going to be shipped in boxes that are labeled what they are? I was reassured that they no longer were shipping boxes with contents labeled on the outside.

Well? Was I frickin' LIED to?? Seriously, I am pissed off. I trusted the security of my operation to you, MARS HYDRO, and you FAILED.

I cannot order anything more from you. You apparently don't get it. Some of your customers have VERY nosy UPS, FedEx and Postal workers. This is a very serious breech of my security.

Really, really not cool. I almost refused shipment. I should have. Now I worry about the UPS guy. Great. Thanks.
