Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

You are right,:thumb: IR and White will be on, too. :Namaste: Haha, it sounds reasonable for the remark. If you own the light with switches, the easiest way is to go full spectrum.:cheesygrinsmiley:
Ahhhh bloom only is all reds. Would of thought they used a few IR , white and blue for that as well.

After finding this out I have to say the Bloom switch is next to useless , unless someone wanted to flower without any blue IR and white.

With that switch set up someone could also veg without reds which seems just as foolish (to me)

If I owned those grow/bloom switched panels I would wire the ballasts up so bloom was 1/2 power and grow was half power. Sharing the IR , reds whites and blues.

It would be as easy as unplugging the power supplies and switching two of them around to get a 50-50 arrangement.

red and blue are Par light so to me it should be there constantly as plants will use it.

From reading through this whole discussion, people asked for an on-off switch for when they were tending to their plants. Plugging the light into a surge protector gives you the same option and no flash from plugging and unplugging a light.

From what I am learning about the reflector series (minute by minute ) the Bloom *can* be off in grow mode if you want , then for flower your directed to switch the bloom on at the same time.
Giving that a single on/off for the bloom is all that is needed.

I reminded my self earlier that MH lights have traditionally had very little red in them and for years *were* the best to use for grow mode.

These switches control power and spectrum produced, the reflectors were for mainly tent use and allowed the spectrum to be altered and produce less heat and use less power then the Mars 2 or the old style lights. Here in the States a few Kw a day extra is not important either way but in other parts of the world it is a costly waste and too some it means a lot to be able to lower power useage

Harvested last plant,(needed urgent more space) so first grow is finished , :Namaste:

Now its there time to shine.

send pm Sarah ;)

hmm... it is:geek: sometimes, I feel it's hard to tell the original color just judging by the picture. :hmmm: is 10 inches too close..
Hi Sara, It is a optical delusion :thedoubletake: the light is tipped to show it's face it is about 10 inches above the clones

Thanks for the picture, Blackstarline. The plants look great!:thumb: It looks like red... Could you post the pic of the panel? I will ask the engineer to check it.:Namaste:

Sara my friend who has the same light came round and confirmed that mine are orange and his are red you seem like you are finding it Hard to believe I have no reason to lie my lights are basically 3 weeks old, you also see that it's not just me but another person on here there lights are clearly orange check his pic. Who do I contact I want this sorted I'll send another pic if you must but the thing is broken my mate has also stated my veg isn't as bright either. He also said his are a lot warmer and my unit is producing hardly any heat at all which we both know isn't right, 3 weeks use, I maybe wondered if humidity or condensation could be an issue for the light?

Pretty much the same as mine, thank you I can now relax I think.

Dude sorry to tell you but your lights broken, my friend came round to have a look as he has the same model, he was horrified his are dark red, ours are orange, Im so upset, it's all good buying a cheap light but you get what you pay for I should of tested a small unit to see how they go 1st, and to test the customer service, i wonder how many people are the same and just don't know there lights are broken and cutting the yield they should get.

Here is a photo of my 96 x 3 on bloom only and it is orange

It shouldn't be orange randy, SmokeSara liked this post, when she can see that your lights are orange but then goes on to say they should be red, it's a pass take I would rather spend double the money and get something that works. Maybe a Budmaster no one is short of money in this game it's about reputation not price, losing yield costs way more then the most expensive light.

Haha, Gnarl, good question!:thumb: there is reason for that option. At the early stage of growth, the plant doesn't need too much red lights. As it grows into flower stage, you can switch on bloom to add red light. That option actually offers you more options.:circle-of-love:
Better question: Why does the light even give you that option?
