Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:passitleft: High DrVoo... I have 2 of the Mars-Hydro tents and they are awesome... they are all metal connectors and I have no light leaks in the zipper... as most do... extremely easy to put together and you will love the quality... I'm sure Sara or whoever you are working with will be able to get a a great price with the number of lights you have ordered.... and I hope you let us see what you do with all this cause it is sounding like it is going to be amazing.....:circle-of-love:

:circle-of-love: thanks dennise
:thanks:

We actually have the bar leds, we don't sell them on our website, but we have them, for growing some vegetables. You can email Lucy for more information. :Namaste:
Sara,
havent you thought about any LED bars ? I am buying them at your competitor from Shenzen, but their transport is crazy expensive. Buying there also COB Lights 1x200w, 2x200w, 4x200w, those are also very good sellers. Is there any chance you can get them for me also ? I like doing bizz with your company, so why not spread our portfolio ?

Thank you for posting this - finally someone is understanding what I'm getting at. It's the principle of having paid for something that develops a problem 3 days after setting it up out of the box then being told that I need to replace parts or at least start pulling electrical items apart (for which I have no qualification or inclination). Why would I do that, and risk making things worse and having a light that doesn't function at all, only to have the same response from Mars Hydro that I should just deal with it myself?

To buy something brand new which fails almost immediately then get told, and I quote:

is simply not good enough.

And to be honest it is rather insulting that I should be told by Sara, who represents Mars Hydro, that the problem lies with me:

After I already stated numerous times that the noise wasn't there at first and has developed since I hung the light, and it's not a case of me "not liking" the noise, but that the noise indicates a fault which may or may not impact on the life of the light. Not to mention the fact that the noise makes growing completely indiscreet.

These are all facts and quoted responses that I received when posting about this problem I am having with my Mars Hydro light.

Surely I can't be the only one that feels this is unacceptable, and getting told that I am taking a gamble and not paying as much for a Mars Hydro light as a Black Dog, Apache Tech etc doesn't mitigate the fact that I paid over AU$500 for a product which has developed a problem that I'm now being told to deal with myself.

i do feel you man i hope that it gets worked out and from my understanding you can send the light in for repair but it will have to be shipped there warehouse then back and if i remember reading correctly you do have to pay for shipping initually but should be reimbursed after everything is said and done, the option of fixing it ones self is usually faster and easier for most and is the same warrenty i have read on almost all of the more expensive LED's you've mentioned if not something that can be fixed by the purchaser. if sara is reading this i would like to know in case i run into a problem i cant fix.

all that said i would be way angry if my 500 dallor light didnt work no matter what the situation so i know whatever the outcome im sure itll leave a sour taste in your mouth but sometimes these things happen even to the best companys and i hope once everything gets worked out you get good results from the light.

Thank you very much my friend. You can always expect from me nice behaviour, i am doing bizz around 18 years and know very good, that bad visit card you can get in 5 min and it will cost you years to improve that. So no need to worry, i am also very spiritual person. I am running seed archive with more than 700 strains from aprox. 40 seed companies. Also doing herb shop, selling grow equipment, supervising hemp research on one czech univerzity, selling seed to bulgary univerzity, izrael state growers, etc...But LEDs i am at the start, so any info is highly welcomed. Right now i am testing lights from several manufacturers and I really like Mars Hydro. Not only products but customer service, support of grower community, i like this way. Hope they will still improve quallity, no matter of price. Good product always finds its buyer and with cannopy, i can see after my years in this bizz, its more easy to sell good expensive product than cheap shit....so when i heard about Cree in Mars Hydro, i was very very happy.....Maybe try to think about Phillips rebel led or similar powerfull .....

wow , DrVoo, you have such an amazing experience, :thumb: i am glad to hear your story, hahha,
thank you for loving our mars hydro,we will continue to improve our quality and service, let all of our customers feel good..:cheer:

here is there warrenty from there website and ive read many and even the "bumper-to-bumper" warranties that some really high end companys are pretty much the same, they ether take forever to ship to them then ship back or they will send you replacements so you can get it done faster.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We do appreciate that you chose our Mars Hydro Led grow lights. We are confident that with our quality products as well as our unbeatable customer service, you will not be let down. The warranty we offer you is good for 3 years and although we hope you will never need to use this warranty service, but if you do, we are here to help.
Warranty Procedure
Disclaimer: If the light has been tampered with or it is found that the damage is caused by the customer, there will be a repair fee associated with the return of your product. If the warranty seal is broken without our consent, your warranty becomes null and void. If damage has been caused by abnormal use, neglect (such as dripping water), wrong input voltage, dropping or breaking the light, disassembling of the light, etc, the warranty is void. Warranty coverage is ultimately left to the discretion of Mars Hydro. We reserve the right to refuse warranty repair or replacement service to anyone.
Repairs: For minor repairs such as a power supply and LED board replacement, you may need to send us pictures showing the problem. We will send the replacement part to you with instructions on how to replace it.
Replacement
In the event that the new replacement part does not correct the problem, or there is a more complex problem, the light will need to be returned for a warranty replacement. As for the replacement, we will contact the shipping company to ship the defective product back, and after it has been received we will send out a new replacement unit to you. The defective unit must be returned in its original packaging and box. If any part is missing or damaged, the sender will be charged additional fees for those parts or blemishes.
Light damaged during shipping
Before you sign for your package, you need to verify that the light is in good condition. If the light was damaged in shipping, you need to help us by filing a claim of negligence against the shipping company and get it returned to us by refusing to sign for the lights. Once we get the damaged light, we will reship a new unit to you. If it is only a small problem, you can sign it, and we will give you some refund 30~50USD or we can give you some discount (5%~10%) on your next order.
Light problems during the three year warranty
We are only responsible for problems that arise through no fault on your part. If any problem should arise, please email us or call us first. We will provide you with instructions on how to proceed. Please do not open the light without our permission. Because we are in China, our service would be different from your local service shop. Please take note of that. The following are some details.
1. Power supply, fans. VDE, power cord, bulbs, etc. We will ship new replacement parts to you at no charge, but you will need to replace the part yourself. The first year we ship the replacement parts to you at no charge, the second and third year, we give you replacement part at no charge, but you will need to pay the shipping charges.
2. LED burnt out: It will not influence the other bulbs as each of our led bulbs has it’s own protective diode. We will send new replacement bulbs if needed. If you aren’t familiar with replacement procedures for led bulbs, please ask for help from your local electronics shop. We will pay for you for the first time. The second and third year, you need to pay yourself.
3. If you cannot determine the problem, please ship the light back to us and we will repair it. The first year, we will pay for the shipping, the second and third year, you need to pay shipping charges, but no charges will be incurred for the repair.

And Dennis, Supergroomer and several others - Be sure i studied your journals in details, you were the main reason i started with Mars Hydro .-))) SOOOOOOOO THANK YOU GUYS

thank you too,DrVoo,:circle-of-love:

Thanks - yes I have read the warranty information on the Mars Hydro website, but from the responses in my post here you can see that my problem is still being treated like some sort of personal preference in relation to noise that I'm being told to deal with myself, and not as a warranty fault unfortunately.

LOl, I know you are our Mars hydro gal. :circle-of-love:
Dr I have tried 2 other brands of lights but have not ever grown under anything but LED so I can't compare it to any other type of growing but of the 3 brands I have tested I love my Mars-Hydro's and I believe they out perform the others by far and for the money IMO they cannot be beat..... My journal should be taking off here very soon as I am moving everybody into the 4'x4' tent under my new 144x5w reflector and 2 Mars II 400's.... Hopefully I will have this all done by tomorrow and I will post up pics on my journal......:circle-of-love:
Keep on the great job, I will definitely be there. :volcano-smiley:

Most places still not allowed to grow MJ, hopefully more and more places are now legalized. :circle-of-love: Hope in the future, there will be good news from your side. :high-five:
Problem on my side is, i cannost grow freely like you. In my country growing without permission is prohibited and nobody till now gets the permition. OF course i am growing, but have to be really carefull when doing it home. And i can grow at the univerzity, but it has strict rules, i am doing more advisor there and selling them seeds, soil, nutes, lights, ets. Right now uni grow room is filled at maximum. They should get more place in near future so we would like to start there also with LEDs and than compare final concentration of cannabinoids under HPS and LEDs in same conditions. Half of lights i ordered is for my customers in my grow shop. Second half will be for my testing (1x Sun Series, 1xreflector 144x5, 1xMARS II 700w) and later sale. Hope to finish this year my new house, so one room will be only for this. I grew under HPS for almost 15 years, so LEDs is some fresh air and i am looking forward to that. I cannot wait to see results on my own eyes, but i am afraid, i will not be able to start before september......
Best wishes on the test lights' growing, any question, please contact us feely. :high-five:

No big differencte, just the PH seems a little different accordingly to some experienced growers. When in soil, the PH should be around 6.5 while in soil, it should be around 5.8 :Namaste:
This week i also should get first batch of REMO Nutrients, cannot wait to put them in test with LEDs...fresh blood mixed with fresh blood....what nutes are you using with LEDs ? I know about cal/mag importance when growing LED...also interested, is it better to grow in soil or hydro under LEDs, any big differents ?

Thank you Dennise :circle-of-love:
Dr all that is simply preference... I prefer soil and I use Fox Farms for the most part... I also use a organic soil... PJ's organic soil mix... that I mix up myself and all I have to do is pretty much water throughout the grow... Just have to get off my butt and mix up more so for now I am using all Fox Farm soil and nutes.... I also have a trial line of Humboldt County's Own I plan to try soon and I have used Growology in the past but I like the Fox Farm line the best so far and I do also add cal/mag and molasses to waterings....:circle-of-love:

Cree chips are much brighter than Epistars, so we don't think the 5watt one is neccessary :circle-of-love: You will be amazed when you see these lights, lol :thumb:
128 led's...... Are those going to be 5w ? How many fans And what will be the power draw and shape of panels....

:circle-of-love:
Fox farm, heard of it, but i am in Europe and this brand is not present here. I have tried in my past Advanced hydroponics of hollad, Plagron, Biobizz, Grotek, Advanced Nutrients, Biotabs, Hesi and now would startint with REMO and also thinking about Aptus and House n Garden. I have my own soil brand, manufacture is outsourced to Litvia, that is great source of ultra quallity peat (dont need to use perlite than). I am also addin Zeolite, nutritions is added by PG mix....
Good to know this :passitleft:
I went back to the Fox Farms instead of the Humboldt County line (except for the Snow Storm Ultra :) ) I feel like Fox Farms did as good or better and it was easier. Making up a gal at a time of the Humboldt I feel like a mad scientist. 2.5 ml of this 5ml of that 30ml of something else. If I noticed a huge difference, no big deal. I didn't.

The FF is just easier. :peace:

the coverage of the cree lights now is 4'x2'. So you are growing big plants right? :circle-of-love: Guess you will need a big size tent, 8x8 or 10x10 possiblly :thumb:
Hmmm.....Sara , just curious. How many would I need for that size tent? I am gonna do 4 plants in that space,(1 1600 over each plant. Scroged, hell maybe 2 144x5's over each plant) <can save some $ this way. Decisions, decisions...!

High MonkeyTime, really sorry about this, can you tell me your order number? Or you can email me directly :circle-of-love: I will get back to you ASAP. Thank you. :thanks:
I think a little of what ape is talking about is that it's a new fixture, he shouldn't have to repair it.....that and he's a little hesitant lol.

I understand what he's saying. I received my two 144x5's today, but only got to open one. The one I opened has three reflectors hanging down because some of the plastic friction studs came out. Not a good start.

I'm more than handy enough to fix it, it's the fact that it was designed poorly (plastic stud in high temp/humidity area?) and assembled the same that has me feeling like we shouldn't have to repair something brand new out of the box.

I've bought, installed and unloaded off a trucks a few millions of dollars worth of fixtures over the years as an electrician/PM, and I can spot issues immediately.

I'm still hoping for the results I keep reading and hearing about. But can't help but feel that this would be more of a come back victory :/

I recieved my 2 144x5's today!:thanks:
jus a lil post shipping inspection and test...
