Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Just a few pics of the new mars 144x5 weeks into the switch to 12/12, starting to flower already and giving a little frost on the kosher kush. the golden goat is a little yellow but that is my doing as it is in FFoF and waited to long to add nutes but all around the plants love the light and looks like the buds are going to be to quality :volcano-smiley::blunt:

and temps stay low with only a 4 inch duct fan and small fan for airflow. the light is only slightly thicker and i dont own a 144x3 but i can easily pick the 144x5 with one hand and im a small guy haha loving the lights so far, ill post some progress in a couple more weeks :Namaste:

:thanks:thanks arellanobrian for sharing the pics with us, the babies under the lights look so cool. haha you are stronger than me,haha:circle-of-love:

I love my 144x5w... My first LED was a 96x3w reflector and I absolutely loved it and still do.... my next lights were the Mars II 400's (5w)... also loved them.....putting the 2 together IMO is genius...:yahoo:... the only person I know with the Sun Series is KingJohnC and he is reviewing it but I don't know how it has or is turning out... There are probably others out there I just don't know who they are.....:circle-of-love:

thanks dennise, and much appreciated that you love our lights,haha:circle-of-love:
bye the way , maybe @KingJohnC and others can help DrVoo :cheer:

High randy :circle-of-love: I am on the way back to our factory today, will check the Cree light status for sure. I will inform you guys when it is time for them to rock & roll , lol :cheesygrinsmiley:
There is a grow report by cofinest on the home page of the Mars Hydro web site. I think most people are waiting for the new Cree chip lights info release before making a change. As for the 144 x 5 I love mine it is with a couple of mars 2 900 watt and seems to hold it's own and the light is spread over a larger area heat also seems a little less even with the 5 watt chips
Yes DrVoo, we are going to have the Cree light really soon, here are some basic info. : :circle-of-love:
1:size:480x310x125mm
2: LED spectrum: CREE XPE series 630nm 460nm and white ;XHP70 660nm./ CREE do not have IR and 440nm, you can check on there website.
3: this is a reflector light, no lens, 100degree reflector.
4: LED amount: 128pieces.
5: Location: China :Namaste:

hi,ganjazz;hope you will get your light soon, :Namaste:thanks for your sharing, we all want to see your new pics, haha, your babies are so healthy under the light :thanks:

Looking forward to that, i ordered Mars II 400w, 70W, 900W, 144x5W and Sun Series, will test them all, we will see which one will do best .-) Also will compare to present 4x200 COB that we have in shop now...

it should be interesting, lol :high-five:haha

Hmm...uptosumpn, you will need more Cree lights to fit in that area :cheesygrinsmiley:, lol :circle-of-love:
def interested in those cree lights!! hmmmm, maybe for my 10 x 10 this fall?? (was planning on 4 1600's for that tent) so we will see how they do...or maybe I could be one of those lucky testers....:circle-of-love:
Who will be the tester? That is a question need me to answer for you guys within very short time. haha :cheesygrinsmiley:

YOUR pics are so beautiful,:cheer: by the way, for your next grow you can use mars II 400 for veg and 700w for bloom, like @Dennise said use the lower wattage unit to veg under then up to the higher for bloom....:Namaste:. right now,you can purchase it directly from our website, they are under promotion:circle-of-love:
hello every one I got a question for you ok so I have about a month left in my current grow I vegged and flowered two plants under a mars II 400w in a 32x32x63 grow tent

I have another tent the same size and I plan on buying a mars II 700 next month for flowering and use the mars II 400 I have now for veg

so I figure by the time I buy for the light and it gets here I would be ready to harvest and would want to start a new grow and use one of the tents to dry my harvest

ok this is what I wanted to ask is if I should just start vegging my next grow under the mars II 700 or should I just start them under the 400 and wait until they are ready to go under the 700 because one tent will be drying my harvest so I wont be able to use both tents and both lights right away anyway

sorry for the rant I tried to explain it as well as I could tell me what you think

here is a pic of the plants i have growing now

First off your girls are lovely... Now to your question... I'm not sure why you have to use your tent for drying but I'm sure you have a plan and know what you are doing but I certainly would use the lower wattage unit to veg under then up to the higher for bloom.... #1 that's a lot of light for babies and a perfect light for veg'ing but I would think if you are going to change lights to bloom you would need to move up in power not down.....:circle-of-love:

hello, apeshot,as we all know the mars II 1200w is powerful,so we need add a biger fan to dissipate the heat inside of the light, thus the voice from the fan maybe loud.i know you cost some expenses on the light, so, we hope we can solve this issue in a good way. so, i recommend you use a better fan or buy one at local place. and you don't worry about the warranty, that's what we can provide the right for customer,it's not difficult for you to change the fan, because design of the light is simple.if it is possible, i would like to exchange the fan for you in person at your house, but we are far away between each other,so we hope you repair it by yourself or you can ask some others for help, it will save you much time and energy. we are also trying to look for the Maintenance center to solve the problem which customer have all around the world, but it not easy, i still believe we will have the maintence center in the future and do it better and better.hope you can understand.

by the way, compared to other brands lights, our light is much cheaper but with a good quality, if you purchase a same watt LED grow light at local place, you will cost much more, I think we have done it better, same quality and lower price, hope we can understand each other, my friend, really hope you can understand :Namaste::Namaste:
Hi Sara, thanks for your reply.
I am not an overly technical person and I am a little worried that I could damage something in the light (or myself) if I take it apart, but something needs to be done about it, so I suppose I will have to attempt to do this myself. I can't afford to take the unit to a qualified electrician at extra expense to me and especially seeing as it is still in the warranty period and not even a week old.

To be honest I am a little disappointed that I should have to pull it apart myself at all, let alone so soon after buying it and paying over AU$550 for it.
EDIT:Also, when you say

Hi Sara - it's not that I "just don't like the noise". The unfortunate fact is that it is too loud for the light to be used stealthily. And it wasn't there when I first tested the light, which means that something has changed and it has gotten worse.
I appreciate everyone's help. But at the moment I feel like I'm being brushed off and told the problem is me "not liking" the noise, when in fact it is clearly a problem (fault) with the light that I purchased.
I don't think that it is acceptable that I am being told that I should now have to go out and research, buy and install a "better same size PC fan" when I paid for good money (yes these lights are cheaper than the competition but still cost me over $500) for the light and it isn't even a week old and has developed a fault.
Yes, I did love the light when it was functioning as it should be, but at the moment I am not loving the light, and the same goes for the service I am receiving after experiencing this problem with it.
Does this mean that you are expecting me to source the replacement part as well as install it?

It's not so much that I "don't like" the noise, it's that many of us need to be discreet in our indoor gardening, and simply can't have a loud vibrating/whirring noise coming from within a room behind a closed door.

As part of there warranty they should be able to send you any replacement parts you need to replace it if you can do it yourself as it is the fastest way to get everything in working order. If not you are also able to contact mars and you can send it in for repair and it can take awhile to ship to them and then ship back. I'm not sure how mars does it but most other companies will pay reimburse you the shipping fee for the first year and you'll have to pay shipping the second year.

This is the same warranty most led companies have, advanced led, kind led, area 51... so we are just letting you know of options for you to be able to get this fixes asap friend. I hope you get your light working so your lady's.can get the light you need

thanks for your help, arellanobrian:circle-of-love:

Apeshot, Trust me... It is EZ Peazy! Few screws, cover comes off, fans are entirely accessible.. Very, very good chance something is just touching the blades that needs to be moved. Even if you have to replace a fan.. It is toooo EZ, anyone could do it. Much faster than any other way of having anything serviced...

Sara is giving you good info...

P.S. I had a little paper store tag from the chains I was using to hang mine go into one of the fan vents and cause a racket... Luckily I just had to pull it out. I'm also using the Mars 1200 (reflector 96*3 in veg)
