:circle-of-love:Hi Alexjay, 300w covers the area 45cmx45cm while Reflector96 will be able to cover 90cmx60cm.:high-five:
Hey quick question hope this is the right place...

I have a 90cm x60x90 grow tent and am looking to upgrade from my cfl setup.
I've seen the 300w led, will this be a suitable fit for my tent? Only growing two plants at a time, would be nice to do 4 if I could. What do we think?

:thanks: thanks for the advice, Stoney. MarsII700 is able to cover 92cmx92cm area. And you are right with IR. The old model doesn't have IR.:Namaste:
I have the Mars ll 1200 in a 3.3x3.3 tent I'm way over 50 watt a square foot. I personally think the 700 would be awesome in a 2x2 the 60x5 300 does not have IR so flower I don't think will be the best where the Mars ll 400 has the IR which is really good for flower. From what I have been told.

:thumb:it's very good advice, thank you, Glitch. :thanks:
Mars II 700 watt. And you have the room for 4 trained plants. I'll be doing mine in a 60cm x60cm you could even benifit from the older 60x5 Mara hydro's. 66$ on eBay. Use 2 not one. You want between 30 and 50 watts of real power per square foot. And LEDs change thier lighting area with height. You need a real 30p watts of current draw to get best results in your tent. Just my opinion I'm new to the led game too

Mars Pro doesn't have IR. There are some differences but that much, I guess.:cheesygrinsmiley:
I do find it interesting that the new pro series doesn't come with Ir chips , ir is good for flowering , but doesn't seem to make much difference without it. I'm using the pro series for flower and they work great.

:thanks:Thank you, Glitch. When you are ready, feel free to share us your grow journal. :)
Well its officiall my entire grow will be done with mars hydro. Old 60x5 for veg and a mars II 400 for flower. Sara talked me into it. I'll start a grow journal as soon as all my seeds and lights arive.

i forgot to ask.
Is it safe to run the LED that way?

Hello iseckz, I've been running my reflectors on their side for months with no issues whatsoever. The only thing I did do is make sure that the switches were at the bottom just in case the hot air rising constantly melted them. :thumb:

Hello iseckz I haven't touched MH or HPS since I started using LED's. I jumped in at the deep end with my first purchase being the Mars II 1600w and I was so impressed that the HPS is on loan to a friend while the MH has been consigned to the cupboard as a backup light. My buds were stickier and denser under the 1600w than under my 600w HPS.

I bought the reflectors back when they were 3w LED's and wasn't particularly impressed, although I think I may have judged them unfairly due to being spoiled by the results from the Mars II grow previous to that one. Maybe I'll run them solo again one day but for now they're looking like they're doing a fine job on the buds in the undergrowth where penetration is usually a problem. So much so that the lower branches tend to stretch out towards the side lighting. I'm not complaining though as I'm happy about that :)

For anyone interested in how the old style 300w lights are, they're fine. I mainly use them for veg but my auto's that are flowering under those are growing well and buds are swelling nicely. They barely give off any heat too so I'm able to run a cheapo 5" fan as an exhaust with no temperature issues whatsoever, although I have recently supplemented some IR, UV and some other spectrums of light in there.

Mars II are my favourites to date hands down. I would be interested in the Pro Cree version but for the remote, I will buy into those once there is an option of purchasing without the extra baggage. All the best and I hope this helps :thumb:

I agree I am using my 60x5 to grow my 1 King Louie I have going. It's a great light
Mine arived at work today. But I had sinus surgery this morning. So I won't get to see it till Friday. Seeds haven't made it in from nirvana yet so no big rush. But I'd have to say hands down best speced and price led on the market. Great veg light. Great for small single plant flower. I have my mars 2 coming in for flower though. I'm excited. Has the veg and bloom switches. Most on eBay didn't. Think they are knock offs. Make sure you only purchase from mars hydro on eBay or amazon. Not these knock off companies. I'm excited to start my grow journal. Thank you guys for all the help stoney Sara and catfish.

Hi Kriaze, and anybody else that has experience with the 3W Reflectors and the Mars II. I've got 3 of the 3x96 Reflectors and was wondering how the Mars IIs compared to them. I was happy with my first grow under them, but would welcome a 'stronger' light that would add some weight and density to my grow. Thanks for posting this.

And I agree with you about the gimmicky remote on the MH Pro Series. I will not consider one of these until there is a simpler way to operate them.

I can't say yet but I believe the mars 2 should yield more. Lots more power. I'd say even the small 400 watt should yield 200 to 300 grams in scrog.

I would say it should to. Better diodes deeper penetration. I can't wait to see the final product with my Mars ll 1200. I am going to get another Mars led but not sure if I'm going with another Mars ll 1200 or a pro Cree
