Lime is used to buffer soil not water/ nutes I wouldn't do that if I was you.
Ok. I didnt know there was a difference. I just know that j add lime to my super soil for this purpose.

Thanks much.

All the ph meters are pretty much the same as far calibrating some are manual some are auto. If your meter has been sitting dry for along time might not be good or maybe it is. You would have to try and calibrate it to find out.
Yes, I found two packs of calibration solution that came with the thing; helps to look at what is in the case sometimes!

So I'm going to try calibrating it and see how it goes from here on in. Mabe it will make the difference I need.

So after calibrating my meter, my r.o. water clocks in at 9.14 pH!

Does this sound possible or do you think my meter is busted?

Ok. Its Sunday morning. Its sunny outside and warm and my weed I purchased the other day is sitting on my office desk, calling and calling to me.

I think I will answer!

That don't sound right way to high. Now if you test the calibration solution again does it match the meter?
If nothing else give them a little bloom formula, not much. Yea the ph doesn’t sound right. 9.4 ph is close to Lye soap
So I suppose I need a new meter, then. I will look up on Amazon to see how much they are. If it's only about $20 then i might be able to swing it this month or else it might wait until after the 1st of July.

There is literally nothing i can do about it. I cannot make the money suddenly appear when it doesn't exist.

I truly hate being this poor.

But some of this will soon change. I hope to further augment my growing collection of grow equipment once my inheritance comes in. I also am hoping to buy a trailer for myself in Rocky Mountain House so i have a safe place to live, some furniture so i no longer have to sleep on a bed or sofa that i got from the dump, and hopefully a hot tub to ease some of my pain.

That's all i hope to acquire except some work done on my vehicle. But these few things will so much improve my quality of life that it will be a dramatic change.

As for equipment, i want to convert one of the smaller bedrooms in the trailer into a grow room and use the closet as an extra veg grow space. Then i would use my tent as a flowering space.

For that, i will put my current light into my tent and will need a new light with better coverage in my tent. Add an inline fan and maybe a temp/humidity monitoring system plus a mister to add some humidity to the room. I thought I'd look for some kind of controller that would turn on the inline fan automatically once humidity reaches a certain index. This way I could leave the mister on fulltime resting assured that if there is too much humidity that fan would suddenly turn on. There MUST be some kind of device like this.

I started a thread to ask people about the grow space they would put together if they had a chance but no one really offered up what equipment they would buy. Without some direction I'm a bit lost as to what to hope to buy or how to put together a real grow site. Gonna require much more research on my part.

And Penny - ALL soap is lye soap. Every bar of soap in the world, if it is true soap, is made with lye. It's a common misconception that soap made with lye is like grandma's homemade soap, still containing some unused lye in it. I only know this and point it out because I make soap. All the time. I even have a very small business making it. I also teach soapmaking around the province. So this stuff is one thing in this world I do know about.

So we all often consider that soap made with lyme is caustic and will burn us because of it's high pH rating but that is not so. Only soap that is made with poorly calculated ratio of lye to fatty acids will produce a soap like that.

And please dont think I'm being critical of you. Not a chance. Just trying to educate the world about one of the things I do know for certain in this world.

All my best,
~Magnus

Remember when you get to Rocky we're going fishing!
You are on!

Hey, do you like ice fishing much? I went as a child and loved it. There must be good ice fishing somewhere up there...

Good morning everyone.

Thought I'd better check in with some pics today being as I've got this Phosphorous deficiency happening.

Yesterday I watered all six of my plants from seed with rainwater with added nutes. I'm unable to test the pH of the water accurately yet so I'm hoping the rainwater was below a 6.2 reading.

Goddamn mosquitoes. Got one trying to determine where to bite me right now but I cannot catch the sucker.

So I added nutes to their rainwater yesterday. I also plucked off two of the worse affected leaves of the one plant. I have heard both ways, that you should pluck dying leaves and you should leave them attached. I tend to pluck them. So I did that.

And not to forget that I topped each plant now about 5 days ago, I think it was. Wanting to begin tying down branches but need to pick up some more pipe cleaners and some binder clips or something.

So shall we proceed? Okay then...

So there you can see that 5 out of my 6 plants have been negatively affected. Sure hope I can get it under control. Mind you, it doesnt seem to have progressed since yesterday morning so maybe that's a good sign.

I took a few shots out back of the trailer this morning that I will share with you.

Just thought I'd show these. I enjoy photography very much and am very much looking forward to living on the edge of the Rockies for this very reason. I studied Professional Photography in Montreal when I was MUCH younger and still enjoy it immensely as a hobby.

So there you have my indoor plants from seed. My clones are doing well after their transplant do that is good. I didnt photograph the clones today because there is not ad much difference in them yet from day to day.

So have a great Monday, everyone. I look forward to your comments - if any.

All my best,
~Magnus

Are those Autoflowers?
Nope. These are all photoperiods. 3 Purple Skunk Mass x Grape Krush, 3 Grape Krush, and 3 Bubba Kush clones (not shown). All are photos.

I do have some autos out in the side yard but they are not faring that well considering how cold it has been and how much rain we have had. A couple are starting to take off a bit, but barely. I dont have high Hope's for my CBD Solomatic autos this season. Might have to buy more seeds to grow indoors after this current grow is done and I have moved.

Were they outside during the last frost?
Nope. All my indoor plants have never seen the outside world.

My autos were all planted after the last frost or they would surely have died as a result.

Hi all.

I dont know if anyone here would know the answer to this question, but I was wondering if, were I to plant weed seeds on a Hymalayan mountainside, where already a great deal of cannabis production already occurs, would I need to use supersoil or nutes for this grow?

My understanding is thst the weed which is already sown there never gets super soil or added nutes. They farm weed up there like we farm wheat almost. Great tracts of mj that is just growing there, very little personal care.

So I'm wondering whether this rich landsoil is, in fact, it's own super soil. And whether I can just plant a whole bunch of seeds to watch them grow.

This is not just a rhetorical question. There is a very real chance of my travelling to india to help a friend out with a new CBD oil company he wants to form.

Any insights would be gratefully appreciated.

All my best,
~Magnus
