Mars Hydro Grow Journal TS 3000: Now Growing Original Genetics White Widows, Purple Skunk Mass x Grape Krush Clones & CBD Autos

Hello again. Been taking a break from cleaning out the fridge, putting one whole month's of groceries away and basically cleaning up my kitchen. So during my break I decided to work on a new photo. I'm always working on photos. It's one of my passions.

Anyway, thought I might show the one I've been working on. I think I might enter it into the photo of the month contest this month.

Love to hear your honest opinions...

Cheers, everyone!

It's a good photo I like the lighting. You should enter it! But no rush you might get a better shot I believe you have untill the 15th to enter.
Yes, until the 15th.

The way I tend to do things is to do them step by step, one foot in front of the other until I reach my goal.

I'm approaching the Photo of the Month entry in the same way. Numerous shots over a period of time practicing different angles and lighting and other elements until I can safely say that I've achieved something of value. Each time striving to learn something.

For instance, this time I learned something very simple but enormously important. I neglected to clean the outside of the pot, you see. I should have wiped it down, maybe used some black shoe polish on it (which I have) or spray painted it black (which I do not have). Regardless, I should have found some way to get that pot to disappear into the black background. Just a small but important thing.

So with a few iterations I might get one or even two to choose from to enter.

And this all might be the blather of a rather stoned gentleman.

Hey, it IS the Fourth of July - isn't it?

Which reminds me, Happy Fourth to all our American friends!

All my best,
~Magnus

I really need to work on my photography skills. My phone has a 24mp camera but doesn't seem to take good photos of the plants. I mostly use my 20 year old Nikon 5mp camera it takes better pics.
My Nikon D7000 takes much better photos, too. But I find it such a hassle to upload them with only having a phone and no computer that I just use my phone lately.

When I go out to do landscape photos, though, I always take my Nikon. It's one of the only things I didnt lose when I lost everything six years ago. I cherish it.

Ya that is a draw back having to upload to computer I have to do the same thing.
Hey Smokey,

I noticed you dont have a link in your signature for your current grow.

I'm pretty sure you are doing a grow right now, right?

Here it is just incase you can't see it.

Stupid me. Of course it is there. I just didnt kool close enough...

☺️

Magnus Did you get the plants up potted?
Yes, I got that done yesterday, I think it was. Also up potted my Hindu Rope Plant that has been crying out for it for ages.

6 hours later: Okay, so I had great intentions of doing pics for you all of the baby grrrls all nestled in their new, bigger pots. Snug as bugs in rugs.

I was also going to show you the 1st training I've done - basically using a pipe cleaner to "hook" a soon to be producing smaller branch over maybe and into greater light. This will help this bud and branch to grow bigger than it otherwise would have because of the new light shining down upon it.

There. Have I got the theory down? This is actually my first time doing this. I'll actually really need all your help when it comes to exfoliating my plants. I know the lower third should be bare but I've no idea how much to trim from the upper ⅔. Nothing to worry about. I'm sure y'all will be there to help me figure it out.

So being as I fell asleep at the kitchen table for four hours and didn't finish this post, I will provide pics tomorrow instead. Just too beat to do it just now.

All my best,
~Magnus

So being as I fell asleep at the kitchen table for four hours.

Well I’m guessing your food was cold when you woke up. Just hope you didn’t fall asleep in a plateful of mashed potatoes and gravy. :laughtwo:

No, spaghetti with tomato sauce. I swear I can still see an orange grease line on the side of my face. Might be my imagination!

Well, good Monday morning, everybodee!

All is well. Getting psyched for my upcoming move. I literally cannot wait - but I must. Only here now until the end of August. Assuming this court case is settled...

I finally wrote an email to my lazy assed lawyer who seems to think I've got endless amounts of time to settle within telling him that if he cannot find time to draft the document with an offer for the other side then I will do it. I've been to law school for two years. I can certainly draft that document if he is so fucking lazy that he cannot do it. I suppose I might hear back from him on this email at least. He almost never answers my email. What a conundrum... fire the guy and do all the work myself or keep him on to do the work but maybe lose a chance at buying the place I want to live in. I'm so confused.

But that's all here nor there, right? I bet you guys don't want to hear about my lawyer and financial woes. It certainly bores me to tears...

So let's take a look at the plants.

I've pinched off the necrotic leaves so that it will be easier to see if the problem is spreading.

I did up pot them as Emilya suggested, but I had been planning on doing that anyway. I just needed some supplies to get it done. But they are all - seedlings and clones alike - now in big pots. They should all thrive now. Certainly the clones are thriving but I repotted them over a week ago now.

Most of the lst for the seedlings lave been done. There will certainly be more to come. And I will try to remember to lst the clones before snapping their pic for this day.

Well, there you have it. My 9 indoor plants. According to my grow license I'm allowed to grow 30nplants at a time. But gawd knows I dont have the lights for it so this is probably already exceeding what I should comfortably grow.

I suppose that of my 6 regular seeds approx 3 should be male, opening up room for the remaining 6 plants (3 from seed and 3 clones) that I should have enough light to grow out six plants. But I know if I had more light that I'd be able to grow much more massive buds. Oh well. Pipe dreams. Actually, when my inheritance comes through I should be able to outfit my tent with more lights and an inline fan to help with the heat. Because I'm THINKING of going the high density lighting route. I know they cost more to run, but then at least I wont always worry that I don't have enough light.

I dont know. I wish I could open a conversation with someone about what kinds of lights to think about getting but I dont want to bother anyone and get blocked for being a pain in the ass.

Time will tell.

So there are the plants. My nitrogen problem or whatever it was doesn't seem to be spreading so whether or not it was the extra nitrogen I gave them the other day or whether it was the repotting...I don't know. But whatever it was it worked.

For the extra nitrogen, I added a bit of plain coffee to their nutes before feeding them the other day. I dont know how much nitrogen it added but it sure did darken the mix!

So it is time for me to sign off now. Looking forward to your comments, if any.

I'm really proud of this grow. For the first time growing inside I'm not fighting the mice that come in the night and chew down your whole crop to the ground. Chewed right of at the base of the stem. One year I lost 24 weed plants and 48 (!) seeding heirloom tomato plants. I could have killed those mice! Wait a minute...I DID kill those mice using various methods of trapping and murdering those buggers. At one time, I was do infested that I caught over 50 mice in just one week! And I'm not exaggerating. And they destroyed all my food, my furniture, my sheets and blankets and towels, and a whole shitload of other stuff. Mice are the fucking worst!

But anyway, have a wonderful day all of you!

Cheers.

All my best,
~Magnus

FYI.... unused coffee grounds are highly acidic and contain way too much Nitrogen. Be sure to only use a small amount of used coffee grounds in your containers.
Yep. I know this factoid already but thanks. All I added was a bit of already brewed coffee swirled into their nutes that I was giving them.

Thanks, though, Emilya.

All my best,
~Magnus

I posted this yesterday this is how I top and lst easy but like I said adds time to your grow. Your plants are also a bit stressed already no need to ad more atleast untill there healthier.

Hey Magnus if you need to be out of your place by the end of August you are running out of time. You should just grow them out. Lst and topping is going to add more time your grow.
I had been under the (possibly mistaken) assumption that I could just, you know, move them - along with everything else. Come to think of it, the only covered truck coming will be the movers' truck, and they might balk at transporting them.

I dont really have time to finish this grow in, now do i? Unless i put them into flower like...now!

Your thoughts, Smokey? It seems to me that its past due time to put them into flower to be done by end of August. Or at least if I put them into floer now they might fit into my SUV the day I move...

All my best,
~Magnus
