MAC (Miracle Alien Cookies) - Herbie's Seeds USA, By Gwhunran In Hydro

The CO2 is having a effect for sure, in a positive way. :) My room seems to be well sealed and the plants really soak the CO2 up when they get some size to them.🤠:cheesygrinsmiley:
If I was growing to get the most financial return, CO2 wouldn't pay for itself.:hmmmm:🙄 If I was trying to grow the best plant possible, then supplemental CO2 would be required.:hmmmm::love::)
As they get bigger, they certainly do soak it up. What ppm are you running? If memory serves me right you are using a 20lb tank. What is it costing you to exchange/fill it ? My 50lb bottles cost me around $55

I'm running 850 at the top end and keeping the bottom end above ambient with no plants. :) Total cost of filling the 20/25lb bottle is $45.

Pictures of my CO2 circulation fans.

Standing in front of the MAC on the Sue side, looking toward the PGC side. 20 inch fans blowing toward the grow with a 20 inch fan on the floor between them picking up the heavier CO2 and putting it back into play.

The plants are looking good.🤠 A little time was spent removing some of the non productive stuff between the nets. I've got a little more to go yet. I'll work on the PGC next. :hmmmm::)
Still drinking heavily and requiring a little PH up even with high ph tap water used for reservoir top up.:bong:

The plants are looking good and continue to build flowers. 🤠 The PH continues to fall quite a bit between reservoir top ups with high PH tap water. PH up was added this morning to bring it back into the 6-6.5 range.

The AC and dehumidifier are keeping the grow environment in the sweet spot.:cheesygrinsmiley: Just starting a week or more heat wave outside.:)

Wow! Do you usually see dense stigmas on your buds, or is this a trait of MAC?
They all seem a bit different, :hmmmm: but generally they are dense on my grows indoors.:hmmmm:🤠 What is difference between stigmas and pistils?:hmmmm:🙄 I've seen the words interchanged in labeled diagrams. :)

Copy and paste...

"The stigma is the uppermost part of the pistil, which is the female reproductive organ of the flower. The pistil, in turn, is made up of three parts: the stigma, the style, and the ovary. The style is the slender stalk that connects the stigma to the ovary, which contains the female egg cells."

Source.

Basically the parts outside the bract which we can see are stigmas, which are part of the pistil.

It's my first time growing it. :) I was really impressed with some street MAC a few years ago in Florida and haven't really seen it available as female photo period seed. :hmmmm:🙄 I remember looking for awhile and then kinda forgot about it.🙄
I won a monthly contest last year and Herbie's USA was kind enough to let me pick my strains. I was just scrolling down their offerings and near the top was MAC.:cheesygrinsmiley: I couldn't wait to see what I could do with it in hydro. :cheer::bong:

Thanks Mel,:) I did notice that you usually use stigmas. :cheesygrinsmiley: I will try and start too as it's more correct and using hairs never appealed to my senses,🙄 combustion,:oops:as that's not one of my favorite smells.

My favorite graphic on the anatomy of the female flower...

Thanks for the diagram. Now I just need to put it somewhere on the computer and remember where I put it. 🙄
MAC came up on my radar screen for terpinolene. Looks like at least some phenos have lots of terpinolene.
I didn't realize that.:) I just had some once and it really impressed me. The taste was exceptional and the buzz was really uplifting and euphoric.:) And wouldn't you know, there was no more to be found. That's one of the things I hated so much about prohibition. :( It seems like more time was spent hunting for weed than actually smoking it. 🙄 And not being connected, I never got the best buds off the plant when buying black market weed. :(
Since I've been growing seriously, about 14 years now, :hmmmm: I've never ran out. I did get down to a 1/4 pound once and it made me a little nervous. 🙄:cheesygrinsmiley::bong:

Terpinolene is known to impart citrus, berry, and tropical aromas and flavors. I'm guessing that the MAC phenos that are uplifting (i.e. sativa leaning) are the ones with terpinolene dominant. As you know, I've been homing in on terpinolene as a marker for bud rot resistance. But for your indoor hydro grow with temp and RH control, you probably aren't too concerned about bud rot. And even if you were, I think the sheer amount of resin/terps you are getting would be enough to protect your buds!

I've been keeping up with your journal and the search for resistant strains. :) You are correct about my current indoor grow set up.:) Environmental controls are working perfectly so far, I do pay a handsome electric bill each month during grows. I also like the piney strains which you seem to have found in many high terpinolene strains. :hmmmm: I used to dream of growing outdoors in a tropical environment and never considered the mold and mildew problems. 🙄 Even in the Blue Ridge, our fall weather is commonly cool and damp.:bong:

The grow area is running normally. :) I mention this at each update, to state that all the equipment is running normally with no malfunctions.

The plants are looking good and drinking hard.🤠 The flower building is happening at a vigorous rate and it puts a smile on my face.:cheesygrinsmiley::bong:

Found the PH way down on both grows this afternoon. I was a little later doing my check because of Medical appointment. The water level was probably down 5 gallons when the reservoir was topped up with high PH tap water and PH up was added as well. Both reservoirs back in the 6-6.5 range.:)

The plants are looking good and the flowers are fattening up nicely. 🤠 With the lights at their maximum height, the room is very bright.:cheesygrinsmiley:
