LKABudMan's Orange Grove - 4 Mimosa x Orange Punch In RDWC - Sponsored By VIVOSUN

I'm lucky that both my wife and son LOVE to harvest/trim. We'll make a day of it, listening to music or a podcast. We get rid of most of the fans and some sugar leaves, then wash and hang each branch. The rest of the trimming will be done after they're dry by the Vivosun 19" bowl trimmer (except the best few ;) ).
Nice man sounds like a good day to me lol. Av heard about this "washing bud" how do you do that?

Check out this post from my last harvest, there's some good pictures of how I do it. I use three buckets, one with lemon juice/baking soda, and the other two with plain rinse water. I also use airstones in the buckets for additional agitation.

When I grow in DWC it probably isn't 'required'. The water is still dirtier than you would think. When I grew in soil I was surprised how much dirt came off the buds, that water was filthy. How did all that dirt get on the buds?!?!?

Even if I think my buds are clean I would still do it. It really doesn't take much time/effort and I feel that it really helps with the dry and cure. Everything is starting from the same place and drys evenly. Of course, I've washed all of my harvests so how would I know any difference ;)

Weekly Temperatures

The temps and RH are staying within parameters. Looking over the graph, the VPD spikes right before lights-out and right after lights-on. I'm not sure there is much I can do about that. I did lower the RH on the controller, to 54% day and 48% night. That and good airflow should keep any PM/mold/budrot away. And with all the fans I have in the tent, they're getting good airflow.

Last week I kept stating I was in the third week of flower. MISCOUNT! Day# 22 starts the fourth week of flower, and I'm currently starting week# 5 of flower. I just skipped week# 4 of flower ;) Oh well, week#4 is boring anyways. These ladies are drinking about 3 gallons per day. I'm still just adding nutrients when the res goes below ~1400, which it does once a week. The rest of the time I'm giving well water with a little Epsom.

I was looking at the roots yesterday. They look good and the buckets are FULL of roots, but there is some scum on the 'tide' line where the nutrient level raises and falls daily. I went ahead of over-filled the system by 2 gallons to make sure the roots were fully submerged. I also added extra Hydroguard and Z7 (an enzymatic cleanser) to 'wash' off the tops of the roots. I'm still planning a res change at the end of this week, too.

I can smell them as soon as I open the basement door, that mix of citrus and skunk:yummy: I haven't opened the tent in several days and I didn't see any reason to today. Here's a few pictures through the tent window. Have a great week!

Hahaha exactly how the emojis are set up was how one Christmas myself and 9 friends all sat down with a blunt each and passed them round as a gift to each other.... We all looked as tired as the right side emoji 😂.

And shit I know wut you mean I have a cannabis disposal unit at home....aka the girl friend 🤫🤣

It doesn't take much at 40C/104F to over-do it. Glad you have the heat ready. Now to figure out how to get the humidity below 99% every night:hmmmm: I know you've got to be getting worried as well as those buds get bigger.

Is your heat forced air? One of those greenhouse heaters may help you dry the air as well. As much bud as you're going to have in that greenhouse in a month you're going to need all the help you can get!

Take care.
I've got the duck work read to go.
I pick up heat at the peak and suck it down through a heater and blow it thought the pots.
Several fans for circulation.
And Thursday is the scheduled start of clean out.
Smalls and larf to open the plants up more.
And I just saw Stone Otter I believe had a great screen setup on his girls for support.
It's harvest im concerned about.
Lot of volume to cure at once.
Suggestions welcome. 🥺
Take care.

Blowing the air through the heater should help to dry it out some, as will cleaning out the smalls and larf. Got to keep those fat buds dry ;)

For curing, you know what I'm going to say... Grove bags. I like the 1lb bags, but you may want a bit more. Check out their 'wickets'. They work the same way to breathe while locking in terpenes, but you can get them up to 55-gallon drum size! Buck the buds, run them through the bowl trimmer, then straight into the wicket for curing ;)

You'll probably want some normal Grove bags for long-term storage, but they sell those up to 10lb now ;)

Time to ditch those old jars and the burping.

Take care.

Where do you find such miracle prices?
I looked previously and doing more than a couple bags was just too expensive.
But at these prices why would you do anything else?
Thanks, talk soon.

You have to click on 'Build-Your-Own/Mix-and-Match' first or else all the prices are for a case.

The smell is definitely getting stronger. I took the exhaust filter off a few weeks ago to clean it and haven't put it back on yet. It didn't really matter much at first, but the smell's getting stronger and stronger. At first you would smell them when you got downstairs. Last week it was as soon as you opened the basement door. Now I can smell it from the top of the stairs on the second floor. The smell is heavenly, like a skunk got loose in an orange juice factory. I keep saying I need to put the filter back on, and my wife says "Why"?... She loves the smell ;) I'll need to put the filter on soon, though, or you'll be able to smell it from the street out front. That or we'll get too accustomed to it then go out somewhere reeking of citrusy DANK!

Today was the first day I opened the tent all week, and that was just to take some pictures. I also gave it a really good once-over, and everything looks great. All of the buds are getting bigger and fatter. And frostier, more frost than I've seen before. Part of that has to be those Barney's Farm genetics. The other part is 645w of VIVOSUN awesomeness. That @VIVOSUN VSF6450 has really got those buds cooking!

They're still drinking about 3g/day. They're just getting water this week in anticipation of a res change on Sunday. The PPMs will get a little low by Sunday (<1200ppm?) but they'll be fine. On Sunday they'll be getting a full-strength AN feeding, which tops off at around 1500-1600ppm (3ec). I'll be over-watering them again tonight. I usually fill the res to 45g, tonight I'll fill it all the way to 48g (extra 3 gal) to make sure they have enough water to last until Sunday's res change.

Tomorrow, I'll be whisking my beautiful wife off to the beach for a couple of days to celebrate our 28th anniversary. I've known her for over 35 years and she's still my best friend and my sweetheart (oh, and my co-grower, defoliating goddess, bud trimmer, and certified weed taster). It's funny, if I wasn't losing a poker game that day we never would have met, yet it turned out to be the luckiest day of my life :)

Have a great weekend!
