Weekly Temperatures
The environment is staying almost perfect for these ladies. I love the 10f swing in temperatures from day to night, and will try to increase that further into flower if I can. It's staying plenty dry for these ladies going into late flower. I dropped the humidity down another 2% this week, and I'll go down into the 40's in a couple of weeks.
Yesterday was res-change day.
I forgot to put 20g of water out overnight to warm up this time but it didn't make a big difference. I completely drained the entire system, even using the hose to rinse off the roots. While it was empty I took the opportunity to get a root shot (this one kind of looks like porn) :
Then I pre-mixed the nutes in a 20g pot.
The I filled the system from the pot + the hose (carbon-filtered well water with food-safe hose). I actually ended up about 2-3g too high. I went a little too fast and didn't give time for the system to equalize. I've over-filled them a couple times recently and it hasn't caused any issues.
Last time I did a res change it took a day or two for them to start drinking again. It looks like the same thing this time. If you look at the humidity in the temperature pic above you'll see that the humidity hasn't come back since yesterday. That's a sign that they aren't respiring as much. I planned to give them a day or two to get used to the new res and start drinking again.
Then again, I wasn't expecting 100% AN feeding to get into the 1700ppm range I may need to drain some nutes and replace with water. They already had some tip burn and I'm afraid 3.4EC is a bit too strong. I'll see how they do today, and I may end up diluting the res tonight.
The middle of the tent is getting dense again but this time it's bud instead of leaves. The frost is coating everything and they smell wonderful. This time I'm in no hurry to get these ladies out of there and can give them all the time they need to bulk up. The breeder says 55-60 days so I should be about half way through flower. Still another month for these ladies under the @VIVOSUN VSF6450 to get thicker and frostier!
Thank you all for the well wishes for me and my wife, we had a fantastic time at the beach this weekend. We even met up with the kids and gorged ourselves on all-you-can-eat crab legs! The beach was a fantastic get-away, but it's nice to be back home. The 'skunk eating oranges' aroma was a great welcome home, too
