Lady Cannafan Shrooming Midwest Grow Kits & Spore Genetics - APE, Blue Meanie & More

I always just use it up right away.....I have never stored it for any period of time.
Good, thanks for that. I'm not going to mix any up until I'm sure I have jars going with good mycelium. A few weeks, is what I've read before they are covered. Maybe sometime in January I will have mushrooms coming out of my ears. LOL

UPDATE: 12-13-23

The Ecosphere 3.0 is a little light on ingredients right now. LOL
I have 5 jars in there and one AIO bag.

One of the Pan Cyan jars has a spot that I'm not sure about. Maybe one of you all can say it looks okay, or watch it. ;-) That is the first pic, it's a darker area near the middle.

2nd pic: Pan Cyan looking okay
3rd pic: Tidal Wave looking great and probably ready to dunk by the weekend. Those Tidal Wave spores have done well, so have the Blue Meanie. I have plenty of spore prints for those now.
4th and 5th pic: Tidal wave cake after 3rd dunk, showing some growth.

The AIO bag still has only a couple of tiny shrooms on it. Nothing looks bad or infected, so I'll leave it alone.
I did adjust the humidity down in there, it was getting too wet.

The substrate mix I did with the APE mycelium formed spots of green mold on it. That can happen with too much humidity, right?

Not having a lot of luck with those, but I will keep trying.

The first one to notice I misspelled Ecosphere on the photos.....yea...it's been one of those days where nothing has gone right. LOL
When did you post the pictures, you have 420 min to edit them

The little condiment cups with lids are just okay, but I'm going to get some standard petri dishes for my agar.
I can't see into those condiment cups very easily because of the way the lids are made, and I would like a wider area of agar to work with like the petri dishes have. It's also much easier to get the parafilm around a petri dish. I had to use micropore tape on the condiment cups because it was impossible to stretch the parafilm around them. They buckled and it was not a tight seal at all.

Also, I'm filing an official missing persons' report for @JoetheChro
Where you at? We miss you.

:ciao:

I was wondering where JoetheChro has been as well. Sent him a DM two days ago.....but no response.

I was working on the cabinet this morning and had to move my grain jars to the side. One of them had greyish mold in the bottom. I don't feel bad, even Philly Golden Teacher gets them now and then. ;-)
The green on the jar at the right edge is a reflection from a vape pen sitting there.

I have more birdseed boiling at the moment and will put them on a tray to dry the outer shells, then into jars. I think I jarred up the first batch a bit too wet, so I'm prepared to get more going properly.

I will also be making up some more spore liquid syringes from my spore prints this morning.

My recommendation is stick those jars in the pressure cooker to kill off those pesky mold spores. 90 minutes at 15psi.

I was wondering how long after misting n airing before you start getting mushies? CL🍀

You mean the ones I'm doing up today, right?
Yeah, I'm going with the pressure cooker. I got the big one out so I can do the quart jars. The Instant pot max can only do pint jars for pressure cooking.
:thanks:

Okay for the newer folks. I brought enough water to a boil to cover the birdseed, then turned it down to a simmer and simmered it for 30 minutes. I stirred it around a couple times.
Then I drained it well through a mesh colander, and spread it out on two sheet trays.
This will be left to dry the outer husks, which may take a few hours.

The test method is to use a paper towel and put some of the seed on it, and if it doesn't leave wet spots it should be ready to go into the jars.
