Lady Cannafan Shrooming Midwest Grow Kits & Spore Genetics - APE, Blue Meanie & More

Hey Lady C I have a question about your Uncle Ben’s. I was just wondering if they’re still doing ok 👌? I haven’t seen a recent update n my spores are coming soon so I might try that. CL🍀
Hi Captain, I don't have any Uncle Ben's. I have the All In One bags from Midwest Grow Kits.
And Congrats on your win, if I hadn't said before!

I think I confused you with Tok that has the Uncle Ben’s. But Thanks. CL🍀

My bad .....I thought they were grain spawn.
Happy Saturday! Do you use just the grain jars? What kind of grain are you using, like millet or birdseed or......
If you don't mind my asking.
I want to get to one method and stick with it. I think I like the grain jar idea more than the bags.

Shrooms, drying shrooms, flipping the girls to 12/12 and nursing clones..... Lady Cannafan you are correct. Its never done lol.

Good Morning Lady Cannafan......

Happy Saturday
Yes, I use grain for my spawn jars. I got a 50lb sack of rye berries at a local feed store for cheap. I think it was around 20 or 25 dollars. You can use bird seed, millet, heck some people use regular old popcorn. You will need a pressure cooker suitable for canning. It must be able to achieve 15 psi.

I have pressure cookers, and an Instant pot max that does pressure cooking which I use for the pint jars. (I do a lot of canning)
Millet seems to be popular, but the prices are a bit high. I have a bag of popcorn here that will never be used. LOL

I kinda figured you had a pressure cooker up your sleeve. Lol

I use the wide mouth quart mason jars with the plastic lids. Drill a single hole and cover with micropore tape.

The quart size mason jars pair well with the 6quart tubs. 1 jar of spawn to about 1.5 quarts of substrate give you about 2 plus inches of depth in the tubs.

Beautiful. I just brought in my bags of birdseed, and I found two bags of brown rice in my pantry. I think I'll skip the popcorn and just do the seed and rice.
I'll go with the quart jars. I got some proper lids yesterday from amazon, I'll be able to do 6 jars at a time.

I think you will find this method fairly easy. Once you get the jar colonized.......then just do simple grain to grain transfers with a sterilized spoon in the SAB.

Those sure beat the one Tidal Wave I'm about to pluck. LOL I'm going to spore print it.
But, I didn't expect a lot with the third dunk of these cakes. Hopefully the new ones will be ready soon.

Well, it's not all happy trails and unicorn farts here.

The shoebox I had set into the monotub in a different room that I was watching had this to show me this morning.
First thing I did was put a mask on. This was the broken up APE substrate jar that I mixed with my own substrate.

There is a pink mold of some kind, or bacteria. I'm still trying to find out exactly what it is. And there is the green and yellow mold. I know what those are, that was found in one of my substrate jars at the beginning of my venture.

This has been tossed into the woods outside, and the monotub will need to be cleaned and sterilized now, as well as the shoebox if I decide it's worth it.
Should probably throw out the perlite that was in the monotub as well.

Anybody have an exact identification of the pink mold/bacteria? It's attached to the cobweb mold.
I'm going to post these in the mold thread as well.

One would think I had eaten some shrooms with all those pretty colors.
Lost power at my house. Heavy winds today. Should prolly munch a couple to pass the time. Lol
Sometimes I think you smell colors and touch music when your dosing......Batten down the hatches and down some boooomers. Have fun and stay safe.
