Lady Cannafan Shrooming Midwest Grow Kits & Spore Genetics - APE, Blue Meanie & More

Welp....wish me luck. LOL Power came back on earlier than estimated, so I went to work on the spores to agar transfers in the SAB.
I got a surprise when I opened the package for the agar plates I had ordered online. The top one in the group of six had a nice round fuzzy grey growth on it. Grrrrr......
So, I tossed that one out and pulled out another one that looked okay to put some spore solution on. The rest of them I vacuum sealed in a bag and I will watch for a few days.
I did two of my own agar cups with spores from Tidal wave spore print, on of them with my Tidal Wave spore solution, and One purchased agar plate with some of the Spore Genetics spore syringe, and one of my own Blue Meanie spore syringe.
Now we wait......again.

Don't watch them..... its worse than watching water boil. I find just forget about them. The less you fuss with them the better. Its tough I know..... I love peeking in oon them. Its sooooo fascinating to watch them grow.

How did you innoculate the agar? I use a q tip and swab the print then roll it on the agar.

I did the little bread tie loop thing that Philly Golden teacher showed how to make on a couple. Dipped it into the spore liquid from the shot glass and dragged it across the agar in an S pattern.

Then I did some by injecting spore solution into the shot glass and dripping a couple drops from the needle onto the agar. I want to see which method worked best for me.

For the prints, I scraped a little with the sterilized exacto knife onto the agar. Those are really easy to see on the agar.

I'll leave them alone. LOL It takes a few days to see any mycelium, right?

More than a few days. I'd let it go for 10-14 days before I'd peek. And remember no peeeeking. Patience is a virtue.

Looking good @Lady Cannafan

You have a lot of things going on, very impressive.
I am just waiting for something to happen with mind, and have an optimistic outlook that something will.

I order some 32 oz. grain jars yesterday, should have them this week.

Be safe and grow well my friend,
Tok..
Yeah, I need to reduce the number of projects going on. Try to get one or two methods that are productive and stick with that.
Experimenting is great, but this is taking a toll on my time available, not to mention the budget. LOL
32 oz. is a pretty big jar. I'll have some quart jars going into the pressure cooker tonight, I hope.
I have my fingers crossed for your projects to be successful!

I inoculated 8 jars of brown rice using the method in the video above. I have 3 jars of wild birdseed up next, then I'm done.
I used my own spore syringes and some of the Spore Genetics Blue Meanie that I had left.
I forget how long to wait to see anything on these, but they are in a cabinet waiting for magic. (Hopefully)
I made lovely messes today, and I'm dead dog tired. 😆

The Mushroom Fairy finished off her work early this morning. Here's the three jars of wild bird seed inoculated and in with the others. They got some condensation inside, we'll see if that causes trouble.

So everything now is in a hold pattern, other than making spore prints as I get the caps.

The all in one bag with the mushroom growing at the side produced that one single mushroom so far.
Edit: Just looked and there are two tiny mushroom coming up. Hope this means good things to come!

There is one shoebox with my substrate mix from a broken up APE mycelium in the Ecosphere. Nothing except spots of mycelium so far.

The substrate jars: APE is going as slow as it did the first time. Pan Cyan....well....I see some areas of concern. Again.

1 Tidal Wave jar looking good with mycelium spreading downward.

All of the agar plates are in the cabinet, I haven't peeked. LOL The rice and seed jars are in the same cabinet. There is a seedling mat in there keeping the temperature at about 77 degrees.

A question: Is the shoebox substrate supposed to stay covered, and need holes for air exchange?

As I wait for the Magic 🪄 goodies, I'm processing Lion's Mane.
This was a huge piece, and it sliced up great. I put most of it in the dehydrator at 95 degrees for 4 1/2 hours, but will be checking in a couple hours for dryness. Then it will get powdered. It will be added to soups and sauces, and hopefully improve my cognitive abilities :laughtwo: along with all of the other health benefits.
Two larger pieces are getting fried up and topped on a nice juicy burger later. 🍔

I'd like to grow these. Just the lions mane. Thanks for sharing.!!!
I was thinking spaghetti but a burger would be good too.

It was a pretty easy grow really, compared to the magic shrooms. LOL
Funny you should mention those, I have some that I had dehydrated soaking to see how they do on rehydrating. Fry em' up! Yum

:shhh: {{Shhhh....}} don't tell Ramblinrose1965.....

I peeked. Only because it was right in front of me when I opened the cabinet door to check the temperature. A white caught my eye. The petri dish with my own liquid spores has two white circles going on. I hope this is mycelium, it looks like mycelium.....I'm going to have faith that it's mycelium.:slide:
