When most people talk about the watts per sq/ft, they tend to refer to the actual draw from wall. most of the cheap chinese led makers throw out arbitrary watt equivalent.
Between two tents I have 4, 2 for each, the thinking was I would do 2 300 for veg and 2 600 for flower, but the light foot print is really the same on all of them, maybe different intensity, but the foot print is the same, so I am coming to the conclusion that I will (eventually, as I save money from the fist harvests, and not have to buy weed, I can get more lights) but I think I will need 4 for the 4x4 tent.
I also got LED panels from different makers, and the wattage varies a lot.
viparspectra 300w is pulling like 120 i think,
galaxy hydro 300 is around 110
kingled 600w is around 130
bestva 800 was 140ish, I dont remember all but remember after looking at them all, they were so close, they were basically the same light,
when you start really looking at watts per sq/ft, then you want to start looking at building your own setup, with multiple cob leds so you can run more at a lower intensity for greater coverage,, etc,, some of those threads get real.. wow. I think for the cheapo chines led panels from amazon, those are good for a 2x2 area...
