Very nice buds Keltic! Seeing great things from ACE!
Question for ya, are you drying the buds first and then into the fridge? Or just straight into the fridge for 2 weeks or so?
I've seen a lot more talk about this around and wouldn't mind giving it a try.

Re: KelticBlue's 2017 - Soil - Ace Seeds Pure Pakistan Chitral Kush x Kali China Yunn

Thanks RR!

I am making my own method I think, my first time straight into the fridge. they were all tiny bud-lets. 2 weeks-ish then into jars, they were dry for sure.
For my second, go I hung for about 12 hours after chop. then into a paper bag in the fridge. this bud was a bit bigger. this one here...

see what happens next?

they stay greener-looking and smell fresh is my first impression.

Thank you! I was getting some conflicting info. I hung my Blue dream for about 12 hours and into jars into the fridge. Then kinda freaked after 2 days in and hung on the line. They smell so great though that I'm going to go put them back in the fridge. They have only been out for about 3 hours now.

I am trying the straight to fridge method for the first time. I took the Candy out of the jars and left it laying out for 24 hours because it seemed to moist. I feel better about it keeping now. I just checked my other strains yesterday and they are all fine. The candy is the only indica that I'm testing it on. The sativa seem to like the method better as they aren't as dense or sticky.

Make sure you are checking your bud daily using this method. I pull out the jars, roll them and tap the jar to lossen any stuck to the edges, and give it a good strong inhale. The results speak volumes, but it feels like we're skirting the edge. You don't want to lose your harvest though neglect.

Peace

I've been checking on them about once a day and things seem to be going well. Couldn't agree more about walking the fine line. I put about 15g in to a paper bag like Keltic had suggested and those seem to be drying a little nicer. I think that could be better than the glass since condensation can form if not careful.

Re: KelticBlue's 2017 - Soil - Ace Seeds Pure Pakistan Chitral Kush x Kali China Yunn

I do not recall if I mentioned. I put a temp and RH in the refrigerator to check. In Fahrenheit I had 40 degrees and a RH of 45.
I wonder if my paper bag is much quicker. I think it is. Might loose some freshness. A glass jar with a breathable top might take longer but hold more flavor.
It has been a relief to use this method as I cannot always be home to burp jars on a daily basis as I can be gone up to 5 days in a row.

I plan to take my last bud from the fridge to the jar on Saturday. I should have a extra jar free by then.

Couldn't agree more, with already being low on space in general. This method has made things much easier!

Curious with one you'll like better, bag or jar? And not sure if it matters or not but I didn't even put lids on my jars. Just laid them down on their side in the crisper.

I wouldn't put it in jars with you being gone that long. The jars seem to make it take longer as the condensation on the jars when I check and roll them daily is keeping them most longer. They're still drying slowly, but it's taking time and I pull them out to rotate the buds by doing the jars on my hands as least once or twice a day. It'll take all of two weeks just to get it dry enough to smoke properly.

My fridge runs 50rh and 50f and is in a room that is around 60rh+ which is why the jars fog up instantly when I open the door. I wouldn't let mine go more than a day without checking them. If you can go 5 days with the paper bag, I'd stick with that. It seems to be working for you.

I got to try to pay more attention to date and times. The last one I just did is very close to full dry, went in 5 days ago. I wanna jar it soon.
It just smells fresh right now. It smelt strong quite obvious, the first 2 days, then not noticeable when you open the door after that.

I would recommend checking the dryness of the buds daily. The humidity can make a big difference on how quickly they dry and you don't want to miss your window. They look and smell fresher than we're used to.

I make a notation on my calendar when I harvest, but then I don't take much notice. You reminded me that I haven't checked them since I put them in there. Lol!

I'm really heartened to hear so many of you drying like this. You know we're going to change people's ideas on proper drying?

I really wanted to try it when Ziggs first said. I just forgot. I was never trying for perfection just dry enough for missus to burn. But now this method is easy to keep sticky but dry. Between this and the boveda packs my missus has good fresh bud.

I would say fifty percent of previous harvests were on the dry side of hay. Missus never minded.
But she likes this the taste and smell are very subtle in the pck x kc. Fruits and produce this stuff. Doesn't smell like ' regular' smoke at all.

Agreed! For me so far drying has been the hardest part of growing.
But...
Just pulled my blue dream from the fridge after 10 days and wow color me impressed! Ground some up quick and into the PAX and while it still has a little green hint to it this is by far the best tasting herb I've dried myself.
I've got an indica getting chopped tonight. Going to put her into a paper bag and into the fridge. Will be gone for about 5 days and the bag seems a little safer.
Looks like beer fridge just turned into bud fridge!

Isn't it amazing how this process makes the final product something special? I was stunned by the difference in effect. The high was more ........"real" is the best word I can find. I'll be drying like this from now on. Hadn't thought to try a paper bag, but I bet that'd work if the bag doesn't get too damp in there. Hmmmm..... You have me thinking now. :hmmmm:

I tossed a small quantity of my last DDA into a bag. I'll keep an eye on it and report back. The smell is amazing!

Re: KelticBlue's 2017 - Soil - Ace Seeds Pure Pakistan Chitral Kush x Kali China Yunn

I've been testing out the Zamedelica I've been curing this way, over the last couple of days. This morning it seems to finally be at the correct humidity. It went through the grinder beautifully. This is 16 days from harvest. I laid them out on a table for about 6 hours one day in the middle and they are fluffy buds. The other plants I harvested the same day are close but still have another 3 to 4 days at least before they are ready to be capped off and shelved.

I have to check to see what I did different on this plant. This is the 3rd grow of this cut and it's always had a very acrid citric scent to it. Very pungent in mid flower. This plant smells and tastes almost dead on to bay leaves. It's nice, although I'm a bit puzzled at the extreme change. The buzz has improved over the other 2 plants I've harvested of it as well. Great energizing feeling and a numbness in the whole body, but especially the legs. Awesome as I just had another night of leg cramps last night. I'm not certain why the citric flavor is gone, but the bay leaf that is coming out now would hardly be noticable if I had hung it up like normal. This method really brings out the subtleties in flavor and smell.
