Well .. I have totally lost track of where I was. I got busy, still in the middle of it to be true.
I have had some challenges in the tent to put it nicely. To be true I buggered it up a bit. At almost 8 weeks of flower, leave it to me to space out. But first ..

Outside, It got hot, then It got wet, rain, then the humidity went sky hi and it was cold like 50'F and rain during the day. for like 3-4 days.

Then I have no time and I need to water before I leave, I cannot find my usual water bottle that I use my special cap with. So I grab a bottle that I had stored my home-made Cal/phos in. I figure the residue after pouring it out should not hurt. I dunno exactly what I did but I burnt the tips of the leaves mostly at mid bud level. I could see tips browning from possible nutrient overload from before, but just a tiny bit.
So My best guess is a a nute overload coupled with a swing in PH ( I could see the PH on my meter, reading lower than normal ) and humid rise and a turn to cold night temps. I think the PH thing was biggest.
Luckily the organic soil is pretty resilient and the plant is recovering after almost 2 gallons of distilled water flush, it is just bulking right now so the buds are going to be skinny-er than they could be now.

Harvest has become a matter of schedule now, tentative for mid may 14 or 19 depending. both of us are going away 12-13 may so i do not want to be drying during that time either done or it will have to wait till after. If need be I may chop early (May 6) and put it in the refrig. it is an old refrig I need to check the humidity in there. Maybe just chop one more top at first. it seems to be bulking still.

Sorry, Question Rad? Are you seeing a combination of thing in that piccy? Like Amber heads, stalk with heads falling over and burst/damaged heads. More than just one thing, right?

I find my eyes get drawn to the clear and cloudy heads and I tend to ignore the amber, so I make extra effort to take into account any number of things like white pistil to brown ratio and pistil health in addition to trichs.

Sorry if that got long winded.

Ihave about 20 pictures from today to upload mostly fox-tails Temps are going to be up and humidity as well so I just have to hope for a little luck to see it through the next 2 days then I hope for a break in the weather.

Temps have been getting down to 67-68 at night and runn steady 77-79 most of the day not yesterday didnt cool off much at all.

So the smell while drying, to me, is sour carrot cream, if that is a thing.

I call flowering start March 1st so we are just short of 8 weeks in flower. flip to 12/12 was 10 weeks ago.

I did enter in the April 'creme de la' contest. I think they might be useful I tried to keep a square crop in mind.

I put 10 cola pictures in and some other general stuff all of the PCKxKC here.

Yikes, I burnt it all my fault for not paying attention. I can see myself doing it again, I can. Ah well. All dry bud it gone in the house tonight. My early chop is still so fresh no way it is smoke-able tomorrow. I grabbed a tiny nug from my plant in the window a placed it in the TV cabinet should be something for missus soon. Just a little smoke till I can get a nug of the PCKxKC ready, it is juicy.

Step A,: I think of days in flower area and look at pistils (with new fresh pistils, I'm always going to wait.)

Step 1: I look at clear / cloudy / amber/
Step 2: I look for for wonky, skinny at the neck, and/or broken off heads
Step 3: I think about how many days since the were put in flower

You could always do a decarb and dry of the fresh bud.

What's that recipe Sue uses? 230 degree oven for 110 miniutes.
Last time I dried trim, I did 170 degrees for 90 minutes. The longer, higher times are supposed to get one ripped :)

I have no problems with oven dried bud. It's not complex, but it's not harsh. I wash my fresh bud first.

Thanks Rad I wanted to make sure I was thinking along the same lines.

I have air conditioning on in the building so the RH will stabilize, that should help the dry. The bud is in a dark cool place in a paper bag with a small fan in it.
It smells nothing like weed. it has a touch of old fashioned cream soda while smelling like sour carrots, i hope the rest of it is similar.

Your old fashiened creme soda smell sounds great. The sour carrots smell might only be there for a few days.


My Amherst Sour Diesel was smelling very sweet while growing, then during the harvest she smelly strong and diesel, after an 8-10 day dry she is light and sweet again - but hasn't brought her mango aroma back - yet. There are lessons to be learned here, but I don't have the memory to put them together.

Most of the sweet smell is gone now mostly sour dank carrot on the drying bud.

I chopped another bud I have had high Humidity for quite some time and the forecast for the next week. I see maybe a drop on wednesday but not till sunday do I see any relief and that is too far off to rely on.
I need to have a plan before I leave for a graduation on may 10. I do not want it drying out too much So some of it is going to stay in the ground.
