Jon's Sneak It In Auto Grow

This is my real name too given to me by my Native American Cherokee adopted Grandfather 28 years ago. I learned about our native people here at that time and got a name. It's nothing official like on a list of Native Americans who actually were here before the english settlers or whoever history decides came. I was mostly interested in the spirituality aspect of life back then. I was asked to meditate doing a " walk of 49". That's 49 days of lighting a small fire and walking in a circle 49 times meditating, waiting for a spirit name to come to me. We'd talk about life and after a couple of years a name came to him. I did have a spirit name come to me that is only known to, my creator, my grandfather, and myself.
Instead of a harley I was interested in that. Go figure.
Ok @StoneOtter!!! Wow!!!! That is undoubtedly the coolest story I’ve heard in a long time. Respect.

Dos Si Dos found a buddy.

Pink Rozay
Day 2

Don’t often post on Day two, but supposedly one of the characteristics of Pink Rozay is aggressive growth. This is day 1 1/2. I watch a lot of sprouts come up. For 36 hours this qualifies as aggressive growth in my book.

Here’s the rest of the crew. The lack of stretch you see makes me happy. So far so good. These four particular autos are Growers Choice XXLs. Not sure what the difference is between an XL auto and an XXL auto. All I know is these two strains get big. 11-13 ounces big. The four of them could easily fill the tent on their own. This will be the first time I’ve done them in a canopy. Last two runs were Sombrero training. The Dos Si Dos supposedly gets big too, as does the Apple Fritter. The Gorilla Zkittlez and Pink Rozay should in theory stay a bit smaller. It’ll be challenging and fun to pull this off. Funny. My last Florida run corresponds with my last Prescription Blend run. Fond memories of both.

Congrats on getting a full house!
Thanks Shed! I was thinking about my first attempt at growing autos. Same 5x5. 9 autos. At that time I had not yet figured out that 3s for autos (or any plant) is B.S. if yield is the goal and space is not an issue. Not sure we had met yet, pretty sure we had, you remember that? I dropped a crappy screen over the whole thing late and had no clue what I was doing? Lol! Still, I did manage to bring them all home and if I remember right I averaged between 2-3 ounces/plant. The two Pineapple Express might have been 4, they got big. But I learned a lot in that grow about autos. Maybe when they’re all flowering I’ll post a comparison picture thing showing where I was then vs now. Pretty sure I’ve improved a little.

What day are we on and who’s eating what?

Gets boring to post the days with every post. Here’s where we are now:

Gorilla Zkittlez Day 17
Dos Si Dos Day 12
2x Watermelon Wedding Cake Day 9
2x Platinum Mimosa Cookies Day 8
Pink Rozay Day 3
Apple Fritter Day 2

Awesome growth from the GZ and DSD. If she wasn’t a mutant the GZ would be way bigger. She hit another gear now and should start cranking it up.

Nutes Check:

- GZ and DSD are both on PB week 4 veg mix, ie 5-10-10-5-5-5
- WWCs and PMCs are on a 1-2-2-1-1-1 (ml) regimen getting the full spectrum at prescribed dosage, just real low.
- PR and AF are getting just 2ml/gallon Core A & B

Facts and figures are so boring. Necessary, but boring. But I have to check in once in a while to keep track.

This just popped up on my phone. This is the last Watermelon Wedding Cake XXL auto, in the same 5x5.

If you see the two colas on the bottom on the left and right that are the tallest two in the lower buds - that’s what I hope to end up with in terms of canopies on these autos. The idea is that once the stretch starts, training pretty much stops. That allows for the stems under whatever colas there are stretch up the entire stretch instead of wasting vertical growth time on further training through the stretch. That has its place but not this time. Then you end up with all longer colas. Just gotta top or train or shape the plant as early as you possibly can since you don’t have the luxury of time as with photos. Longer stems = more bud. Always. Post stretch basically all we will do is keep rogues at the same level as the rest.

It’s essential to get as much training as you can in early, as you never really know when they’ll begin to flower, even if you’ve grown a strain before. I don’t like to top too close to their flip either if I can help it. That process will happen when I do the fourth node topping. Get it done then hope for veg time, lol!

Ok. Done. Thanks.

According to the PB website and package insert, week 4 veg is 5-10-10-0-5-5, as Big Data doesn't get added until flower. Maybe that will make your nutes last longer!
@InTheShed , CORRECT!!!! Thank you for the correction!! Yes, that’s what I meant. Of course they aren’t getting Big Data yet. Sorry!

As Shed pointed out, this should read
GZ and DSD are on week 4 of PB feed chart, ie ,

5-10-10-0-5-5

Sorry for the mistake, thanks for catching it Shed!

Hi @Emilya Green! I saw an opportunity to maybe increase our knowledge base and thought I’d toss this article at you to check its veracity. This is right up your alley. Would you mind sharing your thoughts on this?

Watermelon Wedding Cake
Uppotting Day
Day 11

Four down, four to go. Both these plants had a reasonably established root ball that easily held together during uppotting - in just 11 days!! That there = vigorous growth. Easy, perfect uppot. I activate the pot after uppotting with week 4 of the PB feed chart. I also added a tbsp. of Wholly Mackerel (Fox Farms)/gallon to give them a N bump and bring up their green a little. I have often found it necessary to immediately boost the N upon uppotting as they went as far as they could on just Core A and B and now will begin to cry for N. My CalMag I cut back a little for these guys for a few weeks to 3 ml/gallon. These pots got layered with bokashi, frass, and Great White mycorrhizae and the root ball was dusted with myco as well. I decided to not add extra perlite this time. My base coco is 70/30. We’re trying it this way to see if the roots will move a little faster. The perlite layers tend to slow them down and I often find roots masses at the perlite layer.

It’s beginning to get fun. In the middle training continues on the DSD and GZ. Shed was right, the GZ is going to be kind of beastly, especially for and despite being a mutant from day one. Both of them will get their mains topped shortly along with whatever else I can at that point.

Here’s two pics. They look more washed out than they are by a mile in the first pic. The second picture is closer to the real colors.

Sponsor Participation Announcement!!!
:woohoo:

Valerie from @ViparSpectra just continues to amaze me. So I had an idea and she was able to bounce it off some engineers and get back to me with approval. This is exciting.

When the time comes that all eight of these girls are in flower, we are going to add side lighting. This time, on its own dedicated timer and correctly wired, lol. And those side lights will be none other than the @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pros! At that point we will be on 20/4 for flower.

We both feel that with the fabulous and fine control that comes with the XS series, along with the ability to go as low or high in ppfd as desired, and taking into consideration how light and maneuverable they are - that they will function very effectively as side lights. We will put one on each side and find a nice balance point of top and side lighting when the time comes - maybe 3-4 weeks given the size of the Pink Rozay and Apple Fritter. Should help increase the size and quality of the lower buds as well as promoting increased side branching and development.

Yay! ViparSpectra soon to be in the house!!!!
